It is so humbling to have other nationalities watch our young people perform and respect the effort they expend to put on an excellent show. Especially when that effort coms on top of classes, studying and possibly even a job. These kids truly pay their dues! ❤❤❤
These female dancers are called Jsettes. Hbcu bands have majorette dancers that usually accompany the band, all with their own respective names and styles.
Mind you, these are college students with full time schedules, they practice every single day and night. The dedication to extracurriculars in college is always impressive to me.
HBCU-Historically Black Colleges and Universities, created for BP after slavery because BP were not allowed or admitted into PWI-predominantly white institutions, to get an education. The HBCU culture has a very rich legacy and responsible for a lot of the black professional class in America.
Those girls are trying dancers. They have taken ballet jazz all kinds. They’re not just joking and jumping making up stuff. That’s why they look so professional.❤
when I lived in New Orleans and watching Mardi Gras - the bands like these would march MILES - sometimes playing sometimes dancing all the way to the edge of the French Quarter... If you get a chance - there are video dedicated to just the bands on Mardi Gras in New Orleans...
