I think I heard it was supposed to be released by then, but the COD they were gonna release for 2020 had so many issues that they cancelled the project and cut a year off cold ward's production cycle. I must stress that I heard this through a rumor, but considering how Activision runs its franchises, it wouldn't surprise me. Edit: nevermind, he covered that. But still, Activision sucks, and they'll keep repeating a cycle that burns out more and more every time they use it.

What about an Assassin's Creed Game revolving around any of the numerous Rebellions and Civil Wars taking place. Would a Metal Gear Solid Game focused around spying between the U.S. and U.S.S.R. be accurate? What about being a business-person during the recovery period in any Capitalist country during the Civil War? How about a Tetris game themed around the CIA's brainwashing and drug testing programs. Would a farming simulator based on the Communes not yet controlled by the U.S.S.R. be a good fit? Is Ice Hockey for the NES representative of the Cold War considering two of the playable teams only existed during the cold war? It is just such a strange standard to set for a video game to reach. It is like a less specific "It really makes you FEEL like Spiderman." Wtf does that mean if you change it from "Spiderman" to "a period of heightened tensions over 45 years that includes events all over the globe shortly after the advent of an extinction-level weapon."

I mean, half the attachments in the game weren't even a thing during the Cold War, and for the ones that did, looked nothing like they do in the game. I also don't like the over-the-top Hollywood action. If you're going to say the Cold War was from 1947 to 1991 I already know that as well. But this game feels nothing like any conflict that would've happened during that entire period of time.
The problem with a COD "Cold War" is that I really don't trust Activision to make a game that portrays it in any realistic way... The era was a bit more complicated than "muricans blowing away evil commies and saving the day". From an American point of view the Cold War was simple, but from the perspective of the rest of the world, the US was just as scary if not scarier than the USSR.
Yea, that's why people found the parts in Black Ops 1 and 2 in parts other than the well known to be interesting. Like Laos in BO1, I didn't knew we got in there. And it turn out to be a clusterfuck that ultimately made Laos into Communism. Then there's the BO2 with Afghanistan and the whole Soviet War there, which real life research leads to the Taliban. Also clusterfuck on our end. Then there's the whole thing in Panama thing and the Nicaragua Contras, which were also real. That is what made the first two BO games interesting. They tell us this in the setting and cutscenes of the missions. Then tell us, in the US's perspective, that we did a good thing. But go into the rabbit hole, and you wonder how will this bite us in the ass later down the road in real life.

Don't forget in Desperate Measures, you can also literally swipe it from the general if you get lucky enough with where he is and have no one die at all.
The fact that every russian, Vietnamese, cubin all had a m1911 in there holster like really cant add a Makarov. You also get a degal in the russian embassy mission that only have 8 shots and cant be found anywhere else in the game. Also could have given the germans aks why did every german have a mp5 made no sense.
I know you mentioned that the game looks colourful and cartoony but that’s kinda the point. Black ops was never really meant to be “realistic”. It wasn’t “realistic” back then and it definitely isn’t now.
Hyper isn't the only animator in IW, and he didn't animate most of the weapons. It's a team effort at every studio and everyone generally animates about 1/3 equally. For MW, Khoa Le(Lead Animator) did 20 weapons, Hyper(Expert Animator) did 17 weapons, Jun Chang(Expert) did 21, Mark Grigsby(Anim Director) did 3, Troy Irving did 3 in post launch, and Parker Chapman did 1

The campaign was so disappointing. Really thought that it would be a faithful and meaningful sequel to the original Black Ops, but... nope. A simple cash grab.
The FPS Russia reference took me back, the Blood Dragon music enthralled me, the fever dream transitions made this video fly by (in a good way), and the horrifying Reagan face will haunt my dreams. All in all, this video made me feel exactly like the Cold War campaign did. Edit: I also want to add that you must have looked like an absolutely insane conspiracy theorist, filming videos in the park in all camo with a bulletin board. 😂 Love it!
Well there is a big pandemic so people Couldn't go to work and treyarch wasn't supposed to make the call of duty this year so the fact they got a game out with all those set backs is pretty impressive
Massive respect for all the time and effort you put into your videos. I edited one 10 minute video on the last of us 2 for my undergraduate studies class and it took over 20 hours to write a script, research, record, edit, etc.

I was very disappointed with Cold War they had a great chance at something unique then released a game that can be beaten in a couple hours. Not worth the money.
Ok for one bo2 was one of the best campaigns, and simply watching it won’t tie you emotionally to the characters. Cold War had an amazing campaign they did the smart thing and reused the major plot piece in bo1, project Mk ultra (along with the new project green light)
While playing the cold war campaign I used a turret to kill the enemies, but when I got out of it I was in an inescapable area. The checkpoint was there, so I had to restart the mission

for a while, I was confused "The game looked fine for me" then I realized oh wait you are playing on Xbox. yea u got the cyberpunk treatment. the PC experience was great and I wasn't running max settings. However, for the evidence items that had words, you would have to turn up your graphics settings to be able to read. I really enjoyed the campaign for once it made me feel like I was playing black ops again. No exos, no stupid plotlines, no stupid robots. IT was a good old classic Call of duty. In my own opinion, I think its one of the best call of duties to come out since infinite warfare. It was probably rushed but the reason MW felt better is that infinity ward developed it which is now a branch of Activision, therefore, has way more resources than raven does. Raven doesn't make as much as Activision does. Raven needs to step up their development but the question is, do they have the resources? not likely. I don't feel like comparing Cold war to ModernWarfare is fair since they are developed by different sub studios. Do I think Cold War should have been delayed? Yes Is it a bad game. Not at all Could it be better. yes I can't help but disagree with some of your points in your conclusion section bad AI: yes I think the performance issues were mainly console-related and you didn't mention that it could only be on console. nor was there a main disclaimer that this is only your experience with Xbox. I'm a laptop gamer I'm running an intel i7 something IDR. with a GTX 1060. I played on medium/ high settings because I don't want my laptop to burst into flames. I never reached any performance issues and I thought the game looked good. I don't feel like comparing Cold war to ModernWarfare is fair since they are developed by different sub studios. Could Raven software got help from infinity ward? maybe idk I don't work there.. instead of comparing with MW let's compare with Raven's last few titles. (excluding warzone because it's more of a game mode). Their last title was WW2. WW2 IMO was awful and ColdWar was way better by far. Raven Studios' track record with call of dutys hasn't been so good. IN the grand scheme of their games. Cold War is top 4 that they made out of (MW3, BO1, COD4) I do respect your opinion at the end of the day and do agree it's rushed still, but not refund material for most gamers. IF you only play for the campaign then yea sure go ahead and refund but the zombies mode is one of the best zombie modes we have had in a long time. Multiplayer varies on experiences but it's alright nothing special. I wish this video had one thing, that would be a disclaimer for "potential Xbox/console buyers" as PC is a way different experience. my experience leaves me with these ratings on the Camp, MP, and zombies. Campaign 6/10 (ending was fire tho) Multiplayer 7/10( its not too bad) Zombies 9/10 (best there has been) Id have to give this game a ~7/10 It's a shame to see such potential go to waste but oh well. At least i can play and have a good time with the boys. Atleast its not Cyberpunk
I have a friend who works at Activision and he says how it works is that it's a zigzag development. First Year, they invent the game and have a small team working on scripts, plot, concept art, ect. And then the Second Year they have it on priority and prep it for release.
I know it gets said a lot but Goddamn does this dude make some steller content that is criminally underrated & not getting the audience it deserves. I have checked in on games I'm interested in or I'll see it in my recommends and it's always a pleasure. Thanks little buddy.
The only reason I could see why they didn’t do the thing to bell from the beginning is because of one of the endings. That he still won’t give up the information and the location and turn right back on everyone.
It’s also worth mentioning that treyarch being handed this turd during black ops 4’s lifecycle meant that the rest of the $40 season pass was very bare bones

I know you mentioned that the game looks colourful and cartoony but that’s kinda the point. Black ops was never really meant to be “realistic”. It wasn’t “realistic” back then and it definitely isn’t now.
The reason the reload animations are bad in Cold War is because Infinity Ward had Hyper, who makes good animations

Hyper isn't the only animator in IW, and he didn't animate most of the weapons.
It's a team effort at every studio and everyone generally animates about 1/3 equally. For MW, Khoa Le(Lead Animator) did 20 weapons, Hyper(Expert Animator) did 17 weapons, Jun Chang(Expert) did 21, Mark Grigsby(Anim Director) did 3, Troy Irving did 3 in post launch, and Parker Chapman did 1

The campaign was so disappointing. Really thought that it would be a faithful and meaningful sequel to the original Black Ops, but... nope. A simple cash grab.
The whole game is disappointing. I played the Beta and that immediately made my decision to stick with Modern Warfare for another year

The FPS Russia reference took me back, the Blood Dragon music enthralled me, the fever dream transitions made this video fly by (in a good way), and the horrifying Reagan face will haunt my dreams. All in all, this video made me feel exactly like the Cold War campaign did.
Edit: I also want to add that you must have looked like an absolutely insane conspiracy theorist, filming videos in the park in all camo with a bulletin board. 😂 Love it!

Well there is a big pandemic so people Couldn't go to work and treyarch wasn't supposed to make the call of duty this year so the fact they got a game out with all those set backs is pretty impressive

Massive respect for all the time and effort you put into your videos. I edited one 10 minute video on the last of us 2 for my undergraduate studies class and it took over 20 hours to write a script, research, record, edit, etc.

Ok for one bo2 was one of the best campaigns, and simply watching it won’t tie you emotionally to the characters. Cold War had an amazing campaign they did the smart thing and reused the major plot piece in bo1, project Mk ultra (along with the new project green light)

While playing the cold war campaign I used a turret to kill the enemies, but when I got out of it I was in an inescapable area. The checkpoint was there, so I had to restart the mission

for a while, I was confused "The game looked fine for me" then I realized oh wait you are playing on Xbox. yea u got the cyberpunk treatment. the PC experience was great and I wasn't running max settings. However, for the evidence items that had words, you would have to turn up your graphics settings to be able to read.
I really enjoyed the campaign for once it made me feel like I was playing black ops again. No exos, no stupid plotlines, no stupid robots. IT was a good old classic Call of duty. In my own opinion, I think its one of the best call of duties to come out since infinite warfare. It was probably rushed but the reason MW felt better is that infinity ward developed it which is now a branch of Activision, therefore, has way more resources than raven does. Raven doesn't make as much as Activision does. Raven needs to step up their development but the question is, do they have the resources? not likely.

I think the performance issues were mainly console-related and you didn't mention that it could only be on console. nor was there a main disclaimer that this is only your experience with Xbox.
I'm a laptop gamer I'm running an intel i7 something IDR. with a GTX 1060. I played on medium/ high settings because I don't want my laptop to burst into flames. I never reached any performance issues and I thought the game looked good.
I don't feel like comparing Cold war to ModernWarfare is fair since they are developed by different sub studios. Could Raven software got help from infinity ward? maybe idk I don't work there.. instead of comparing with MW let's compare with Raven's last few titles. (excluding warzone because it's more of a game mode). Their last title was WW2. WW2 IMO was awful and ColdWar was way better by far. Raven Studios' track record with call of dutys hasn't been so good. IN the grand scheme of their games. Cold War is top 4 that they made out of (MW3, BO1, COD4)
I do respect your opinion at the end of the day and do agree it's rushed still, but not refund material for most gamers. IF you only play for the campaign then yea sure go ahead and refund but the zombies mode is one of the best zombie modes we have had in a long time. Multiplayer varies on experiences but it's alright nothing special.
I wish this video had one thing, that would be a disclaimer for "potential Xbox/console buyers" as PC is a way different experience.
my experience leaves me with these ratings on the Camp, MP, and zombies. Campaign 6/10 (ending was fire tho) Multiplayer 7/10( its not too bad) Zombies 9/10 (best there has been)

I have a friend who works at Activision and he says how it works is that it's a zigzag development. First Year, they invent the game and have a small team working on scripts, plot, concept art, ect. And then the Second Year they have it on priority and prep it for release.

The only reason I could see why they didn’t do the thing to bell from the beginning is because of one of the endings. That he still won’t give up the information and the location and turn right back on everyone.
It’s also worth mentioning that treyarch being handed this turd during black ops 4’s lifecycle meant that the rest of the $40 season pass was very bare bones
