Personally, the mojave is better for the gladiator, rubicon for the wrangler. If your gona be a heavy rock crawler you really dont want the gladiators break over angles, and if your gona be going high speed offroad you dont want the wranglers short wheelbase which makes it more unstable.
my video 5 days after I drove my Mojave off the lot. My friend in the JKUR didn't want any. I didn't quite hit 60 MPH right there because the truck was new to me but I would do that at 90 now
Love that y'all did a side by side on these. I went back and forth for nearly 4 months before deciding on a 2022 Mojave with a manual transmission. No regrets whatsoever on it. Traded in my 2018 JLU sahara for it and couldn't be happier. Not only is the suspension awesome, but it is nice knowing it has the reinforced frame and cast knuckles. Excellent video.
It was a no brainer for me rubicon is superior if you do anything remotely off road having those lockers front and rear are game changers. The whole thing about the Mojave is those shocks. If you modify the vehicle at all they would be one of the first things swapped out. If you don’t modify things you want a nice comfy stock vehicle go Mojave if you lift your vehicles or modify in anyway go rubi.
Reinforced pretty much everything is better.. A front locker can be installed later if you feel like you need one as well as a sway bar disconnect or run the rockjock sway bar system. Beefier is better your only dog in the fight is a locker?
Very true! And if you do wanna go a little bit in the sand now & then, & rock climb, then go with rubi! Just simply cause of the apparent ability to modify it without complications & be able to do any & all off roading you want!! Rubi is your sweet spot!!! But it is definitely first & foremost mountain trail & rock climber monster than anything!!! But it can do a little desert runs too!! When I can somehow, I wanna get the gladiator rubicon, for sure!!!
Yeah, I got my Mojave 2.5 lifted (rubicon lift kit), with shock and bumpstop extensions, didn't toss any of the cool suspension parts away... and 37" tires. Other than the fact that some undesirable folks (exwife) have trouble getting in and out of the rig, she drives like a Cadillac. After I regear I figure she'll do some rock crawling too.
Both are great trucks and it comes down to what you really want to use truck for. I went with Rubi, it fits my needs better since I wanted the fullest off -road capability. Orange is my favorite color so I really wanted to go Majove but both models fully loaded with all options are the same price. Yes, the Mojave has amazing Fox suspension but I wasn't about to jump my truck, the re-enforced frame is cool especially for towing, but I don't tow. SO it came down to dollar for dollar at the same price the Rubicon I felt offered more. Lockers front and rear, automatic sway bar disconnect and a crawler transfer case.
Living in the Midwest I’m glad I bought the Rubicon. Used to live in AZ and honestly I still would not have bought the Mojave. Rarely need the “desert” feel unless you travel to Yuma. Rubicon still makes more sense in the valley due to the rocks.
Having a TJ set up for crawling duties and wanting a daily driver in Colorado I went with the Mojave for the better ride quality, better seats and the option of getting the Select-Trac transfer case with the 8 speed automatic...grest video though
No wonder I have a problem deciding what to get. I had a Gladiator Mojave. 2021 loaded with everything. And 6-speed manual transmission. Love the way it handled. Nacho color, matching roof and fenders. Off white/light gray interior color. Great video.

My friends always say it rides great. Thank you for your videos, Watching for a loose 392 rubicon if you all get one for sale that no one picked up : ) Thanks, sam.
I’m planning to go for 2022 Mojave but I’m worried about the level of noise in the cabin ? Normally all these vehicles are little bit noisy while driving and feels little uncomfortable because of that, so I wonder if anyone can confirm if the ride quality and noise aren’t that bad. Thanks for the nice video and keep it up
I actually test drove one of these the other day. The idea of this vehicle is cool. All the things of a jeep with a truck bed in the back. I have to say the seats in the car are really stiff. Wondering if it was because i had cloth seats and not leather? I daily drive a 2003 mercury marquis with the sofa comfy seats lol. i was really excited for possibly owning one too. I guess i am just not cut out for a jeep i guess. Still cool ride though
Hey Matt, FYI - I think that front skid plate is actually aluminum, and not steel, like you mentioned in the comparison Mojave vs. Rubicon Gladiator video. Rubicon Hard Rocks are the only models I know of that have a steel front skid plate from the factory. Recons might too. Thanks for the videos!
No it's steel from the factory, I've watched plenty of people do magnet tests on the factory plates. Basically anything aluminum in the Rubicon below becomes steel in the mojave.
I'm guessing the Mojave has no diesel option, purely due to the fact that it is heavier, which would make them have to do even more reinforcements to the suspension to account for us wanting to be goons, and jump the thing over dirt hills, and fly over pot holes. For me, I am much more likely to roll out on the beach, than through the woods, so either one is fine really, since you get in BIG trouble round these parts, if you do more than crawl on the beach.
These things are terribly multiple recalls and lawsuits in Australia my best mate bought one had a multiple oil leaks a boat load of electrical gremlins sold it with 30k on the clock took a huge loss and is now the proud owner of a 70 series land cruiser talk about a rags to riches story hey. Shame they look so good
The only thing great about the Mojave that Jeep should have done to the Rubicon is the frame is thicker all around, plus re-enforced and steel knuckles.
Awesome side by side review! Thank you! Apologies if I missed it but because of the different gearing is the Mojave better or worse than the average Gladiator? Thanks!
I've purchase the 2023 Gladiator Mojave yesterday on May 19, 2023 for $51,000 out the door (10,000 down) ( 5,000 bonus savings) 5.75% interest for $775.00 per-month); with this bad economy all interest rates are higher compared to three years ago at 2.75%, It's now cheaper to purchase new vehicles, the rates are lower along with incentives and rebates . So far the good about the 2023 Mojave Gladiator is the smell of the new interior, looks, performance, draws a lot of attention. The bad is the fuel economy ; I left the dealership with a full tank tank of gas, 20 min later it was a half of a tank, also the steering isn't stable, it's like playing Gran Turismo trying to stay on the road. Overall, its was a great purchase along with the yellow ducks and peace signs from other drivers all day.
Hi first time responding, why did you not mention the dual shocks in the rear and isn't that a bit stiff both on road or trail. Currently debating differences but I love my comfort! Still unsure but your video was very helpful. Thanks
I mean why buy a Mojave if you can buy a Raptor for desert racing. That’s why we went with Rubicon and then have a Bronco Raptor which is on a different level then anything else out there from factory for high speed off-roading.
This is so annoying. Put the axles and shocks on the Mojave on the rubicon and you’d have the best truck bar none. Mojave with no front locker or sway bar disconnect make it as capable as any trim level jeep unless the one time you drive fast in the dessert.
Great side-by-side companion. I must admit, I cringe every time I hear you mispronounce the word Mojave … it’s actually “mow haa vee”. But great info! Thanks 👍

Agreed 👍
Biggest issue with the Mojave is the the tow capacity and payload. I’m not sure if it’s because of suspension since it technically has a heftier frame

gladiator rubicon has an option for max tow package which can tow up to 7,700lbs

There are no rocks in the valley as everyone is smoking them.
That is crazy no 392 for option in the Gladiator . Also as an alternative, a turbo for the v6 . The lack of these is ignorant on Jeep’s part.
Such a difficult decision the Mojave would be definitely better for everyday but the extra towing capacity in the Rubicon is hard to give up
Its a hard choice for sure!
all Gladiators suck at towing, even the Sport Max Tow.
