Man, I just picked up a '22 Gladiator Mojave. It only had 12,000 miles and was $1,000 below Blue Book, which was about $15,000 less than original sticker price! I absolutely agree that their loss is my gain. This thing is friggin SWEET! I think i'm gonna go with 35s on mine as well.
Just bought my 2023 Mojave about 2 months ago and love every minute I'm in it. That suspension really makes a massive difference in how it feels compared to other models.
Yup. That's what I did. The Rubicon has aluminum knuck s to the Mojave steel, the frame is reinforced more, the control arms are beefier, and of course the hood. I knew I was found to regear anyway so when I regeared I just added a front locker, front RCV's, and Chromoly shafts in the rear.
I have a 22 Mojave. Manual, cloth povery model, lol. I have been eyeing an 11.5 width 35 on stock rim. Lots of success online with that pizza cutter look/clearance on stock Mojave rims/suspension. It has occured to me though that i have a set of nice 20inch American Racing truck rims lying around, with correct lug fit, but 45mm backspacing as for another project initially. Sounds like if i put about a 30mm wheel spacer in it, i'd be same fitment as you on the 35x12s with 15mm backspace. I did not catch your rim diameter. Not doing any serious trails with it, but no mall crawler either so sensitive to 20s not offering up same offroad capability/protection, bit similar sidwall height as stock. What was your rim diameter on new wheels? Am i on the right track?
I’m not a big 20 guy for a couple reasons, tires are usually weigh more money, and like you said you have a lot left side wall so off road can be tough. I think the fitment would work to clear them but I bet you could get hood money for those wheels if you wanted to go to a 17. The wheels on the Mojave and most of my vehicles are 17 because you have a lot of tire options and it gives you the most and on the sidewalk while still being able to fit over modern brakes.
Sting Gray is this best! That’s the color of my Rubicon. .you need to be taking that Mojave to the desert to really let her stretch. You can only bomb so much in Rubicon county. 😂.
Beautiful spec!! You won’t miss the fenders especially on the gray. Plus they take all the beating from brush. I did see a guy color match coat them with line x. That’s pretty badass! Good luck
I was torn between that and the Rubicon, I went with the Rubi for two reasons, 1) exactly what you mentioned, the resale, and 2) the front and rear lockers. In some ways the Mojave would be a better choice for me as I don't do any heavy rock crawling, but those two things tipped the scale.
I ran into the same issue, was on the fence between the Mojave and the Rubicon, I really wanted the Gobi tan and happened to find a 6 speed manual Rubicon with the Saddle brown Leather that looked good in Gobi and the Front and Rear locking diffs and sway bar disconnect slightly edged out the Mojave. Plus I dont know why I like the vented Rubicon hood vs the hood scoped Mojave hood.
Is that a 75 Series Land Cruiser in the shop? Your excited about a Jeep and you have a 75 series Land Cruiser? I'm confused. Maybe that's a Prado or something? Lockers and winches before power coating wheels, in my book.
Hahaha yea that’s a 75 series land cruiser from Japan. It used to be a fire truck over there is you can believe it. It’s a customers getting a bunch of work done including a custom rear 4 link. I guess you haven’t seen my other Jeeps haha the Mojave is really just a daily driver slash camping rig. It comes with a factory rear locker and if I get it into a spot where I need a front locker I’m on the wrong trail in the wrong Jeep. We do have some videos coming out on it tho with new bumpers and yes the front will have a winch haha
@@forcemotoring1551 Not sure what either one of your pointless points have to do with my statement that you can put 35's on a Rubi and no it wont rub. I didn't say a thing about other jeeps. Try to focus...
I’m planning on buying a Mojave. My plans are to give it mild lift and some taller pizza cutter tires. A couple of LED lights facing forward, one facing backwards. Possibly a wench.
Thanks so much man appreciate you taking the time to have a positive comment on someone’s trying to do something with their life. What color is your rubicon?
Do you have to recalibrate to compensate for the 35’s?? And I hope you go with the AEV Full Bumper or Rugged Ridge Venator Front Bumper would really complete the build.. My2Cents
Technically you would to have to for the Speedo. It’s not real noticeable tho. Probably got with a Genright aluminum. Stuby tho, we don’t like full length ones
Just traded in my 2019 unlimited for a 2023 Gladiator Mojave. What offset did you have to use for the 35s. I'm looking at putting a set of Fuel-Stroke wheels on with no lift.
You going to lift the Mojave? I have this same setup pretty much. I’m thinking the Evo 2.5 enforcer stage 2 w/ the 2-3” extensions and Teraflex quick disconnect kit with the Apex disconnects.
Probably not cuz I don’t wanna go any bigger with the tires. I haven’t really wheeled it much and probably won’t. Just hit more backroad camping type stuff. Maybe in a couple years when I decide to really go bigger with it and wheel more I would do the 74 weld portals and 40s on the stock suspension and axles and see how that goes
I was thinking of getting the majave over the rubicon. I would this do all off road, over rocks including? Is their a rack to put over the bed to put the spare tire? I'd like to have that.
They do fine on the rocks, again it come one inch higher then the rubicon so better clearance. Unless you are really doing some challenging trails you rarely need both a front and rear locker. And let’s be honest if you are doing technical rock crawling in a gladiator you are gonna want at least 40s and that would require new axles anyway
If you don’t rock crawl, yeah, it’s good, but if I could have a Jeep gladiator I’d personally say nah! I want a rubi cause I wanna rock crawl one day!!
I hear ya but if you are gonna rock crawl a gladiator your gonna need Dana 60s and 42s anyway so maybe go with a sport. They are just so big they don’t work well on the rock crawl trails
I realy like your new set of wheels and tires, aren't this set of wheeles and tires too heavy for the 3.6 engine? Your Mojave looks awsome, Thank you for sharing,
You barley even notice them. The transmissions in the JL and JT are so much better then the old jk ones that you can barley even tell. Keep in mind it’s not a big jump cuz the Mojave comes stock with 33”s
Yes I think one of the pass through ones like the falcon would make any Jeep handle better. Also a steering box reinforcement bracket would probably be a good idea as well.
Brother...I really appreciate this video. I just bought a 2024 Mojave and was wondering on lifting it or not. You just saved me some money on a lift. That size of tire/wheel is more than what I need and it looks just perfect. Is there anything I need to add to it or would it be fine just the way you presented on the video? Thank You.
Hey man glad to hear. We’ve been driving the Mojave for over a year now on that setup and it’s just perfect. Rips around town and down the highway like stock and on rougher stuff and off road no bumping or rubbing. I can’t think of anything to add as far as suspension
It would fit height wise but when turning at full lock would rub. You could use spacers but I would recommend a aftermarket wheel with the right backspacing
Totally agree but if you’ve taken a ride in a stock jeep and a jeep that has nice shocks, you would upgrade your shocks on a Rubicon after they wear out as well. Nothing stays stock forever right haha

Now I'm looking at the larger tires, a wench and that's going to be all I do with it aside for some minor add-ons. It's an awesome Jeep to own.

I ended up getting a Rubicon because of the bullet proof 4:1 transfer case, the Mojave automatic transfer case has had some issues so far.
Congrats on the new rig. No issues so far with the Mojave transfer case 30,000 miles in.
