      You are best to use wired chargers not wireless. The Clutch Pro is interesting as it has the magnets to connect to the back of the phone, but doesn’t charge wirelessly, it uses a short inbuilt wire.

    Apple + Anker 10k:
    Love my Apple battery - I WANT a slow, cooler, charge when having a long usage day. Phone 15 PMx tends to overheat went out and about.
    I carry the 10k anker w/screen and recharge the Apple in my bag! I’ll use the Apple till dead first thing in the morning, recharge in my bag late morning, then if needed in the late day, pull it out again and use it if I need another boost - usually I don’t on a long usage day, using this method.

    iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max can only charge at 27W like 15 Pro / Max. 38W draw can be achieved for a few seconds if the phone is low on battery and also rendering an intense game before the draw drop down to 30~32W but the battery is still being charged at 27W max, the extra 3~11W is for running the game.

    I use magsafe everyday, while driving and I haven't carried a wallet since the iPhone 12 came out. Magsafe is a great implementation and because of its convenience I wanted to try magsafe battery packs. After using many of them from all the major brands I can safely say that they ALL get uncomfortably hot no matter what paid reviewers will say. In my experience Anker is one of the worst in this regard. I just tried the Belkin 5k sold directly from Apple and I had to return it the day after i bought it. And i don't even use my iPhone while charging it! The only one that didn't get hot was the Apple Magsafe Battery Pack. It was just a superior product designed specifically for the iPhone by Apple. I hope they will bring it back but for the time being I'm sticking to the old reliable cable. It's cheaper, charges faster and my iPhone stays way cooler.

    • @bySaverio
      @bySaverio หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      And they are also so thick. I got big hands but my iPhone 15pm becomes too thick when using even the thinnest of the ones shown in this video. The Apple one was the only one functional imo.

      To my knowledge, the Apple battery pack works like an additional battery for your phone, whereas all of the other branded battery packs are essentially chargers.

    Apple MagSafe is slow, gets quite warm, doesn't hold a charge after months of non-use and won't charge your phone to full. Despite all the challenges and being the most expensive dollar per watt, it's the best overall in terms of portability, size, comfort and functionality. Best used as a range extender which means you would need to know in advance whether you're going on a long journey. Wish more improvements can be done towards efficiency but I think this the limit.

    I dont think there would be much of a difference between 15w and 25w since the difference between 7.5w and 15w is a slight difference in speed when it is almost double the watts. what would be interesting tho is seeing the heat of the new magsafe especially on previous iPhone models stuck at 15w

    I don’t care about charging speeds, just want a power bank, that heats the least, and has the least loss of power, I mean if a battery pack is rated at 5000 mah, and it can charge 2600 mah, and another one can charge approximately 2800 mah, the 2800 mah will be better for me, coz in a powerbank, more mah means being bulky and power is precious in a powerbank, wireless charging of any type is lossy enough already. My old anker 622 5k mah barely gets me less than 2k capacity while charging and 3.5k while charging with a wire, these aren’t exact and heat obviously leads to more loss. And please no one tell me that the Apple one was the best, I know it, but I can’t get it. I need something now.

  • @adriftatlas
    @adriftatlas หลายเดือนก่อน

    Not sure why someone doesn't release a slim power bank that hangs on using MagSafe but uses a flat integral USB-C cable to charge. Kind of like the small SSDs that hang onto the iPhone for video recording. The more I test different Qi2 chargers the more I realize that induction charging is full of drawbacks.
