The CNC is there because you cannot remove easily the old chip because lf the compound around and under the chip. This was the easy and most safe option to avoid breaking contacts

Very clean work but i dont really understand the need of this, all of this work, all of this skill, all of this equipement costs a lot of money, the part itself also costs a lot, plus its a modern phone and by doing this "upgrade" you loose warranty, i think for a user its way more logically corret just to buy the 1TB model instead of buying 128GB loosing warranty and spending same money on this work, but as a tech video as a demonstration of how its done - great job guys
RAM capacity and usage is hard coded into iOS, even if you swap it the phone won’t use the extra memory. That’s why you don’t see RAM upgrade videos often.
