Man. I’ve been looking for this for years. Last time I saw this was pre-Covid. I’ve worked at an LGS for years and so much here has come to pass. The man being interviewed here was far more knowledgeable than most “experts” that made their way onto news programs, talk shows, news-papers or church pulpits in this era. This holds up very well.
Wow watching this video in 2020 after a first edition box of base set cards just sold for almost 400k is remarkable. All the parents who did put sealed product away in hopes that it would be worth a lot of money or "put their kids through college" have certainly been validated especially over the past few months. I just spent over 2k on a collection off someone who told me their dad made them put the cards in safe because he thought they'd be worth something someday and it's really interesting to think what current toys/games will be high priced collectables 20 years from now but you really do never know.
A video game that started from Nintendo??? It was started from Game Freak then Nintendo started helping Game Freak with Pokemon. So get your facts straight!
Haha wow. It's hilarious listening to these guys who don't remember what it's like to be a kid and have no idea what they're talking about. They may think they understand it, but they have no idea how to think of it in terms of a child's mind. And did he just say the card game was hard to understand? Really?
"Who knows how long this stuff will last."
20+ years later and it's still a monster of a franchise and now has a live action movie in the works.

This guy was much more on point than most of the supposed "experts" that were interviewed around this time.
