I have a standard model Polaris Ranger 700. It is a great machine. I use it like a mini tractor around the house for yard work, mowing and snow plowing. I also use it out at the ranch for deer hunting and just cruising around. I wish mine was the extended model so I could carry more passengers.

JUST got a 2015 Ranger ‘570’ Crew Full-size.. and it IS mint! Whoever (TRYING to find out) had it took exquisite care of it. Man she LOOKS brand new. 141.1 hours on it the day we bought it, the 16th of this month. Can’t stop ADDING stuff personalizing it, just plain fun watching it come together.

Who needs a dealer service department when you maintain equipment (and what I can see of your property) the way you do? Unfortunately, as my partner in an offshore fishing boat said: "You know Grits, you are undeniably, genetically, mechanically sterile!" Yup! I really admire the way you take care of your equipment, wood stacks and property. And thanks for the way you do your videos.

Great video! Concur with everything you said about the advantage of owning a multi seat side-by-side. I have a 2015 Kawasaki MULE PRO FXT EPS. I love it! I would have purchased the 3 seater for farm work, but my wife insisted on the 6 seater convertible and I am so glad she did. We often drive around with all 4 grandkids and several adults. Fortunately I can drive mine to the local gas station a mile away without issue (rural). Agree with maintenance facilities (no brand is excluded). 265 hours, 20 months, I have it over 40 mph. Work horse ...Never stuck. Love it!

They are great machines. I have a 2017 ranger crew XP1000 Highlifter edition. I can tell you about the power steering. I had this issue the first day. The polaris dealer where I live had no clue what it was, but after some research. It actually is a purposely made function where you can turn the electronic power steering off. If you turn the key one click then wait 5 to 10 seconds before cranking then it will turn off. To turn it back on just turn off machine and crank it again as soon as you turn key.

I have a 2012 Ranger, its been awesome! I haven't had any issues, so honestly, I'm not sure about the dealer cuz it hasn't been there. I have the short cab, i prefer it that way, dont like that long crew body. But i would recomend the Ranger to anyone. Its the perfect machine for a work/play combination.

I agree with Mike on owning a SxS. I bought a 2014 Can-Am Commander 800 as my retirement gift to myself and love it. I bought a SxS knowing my wife would never drive an ATV of her own. I've taken it to Colorado twice and South Dakota once and use it around my place in the country similar to how you use yours. (By the way Mike, in SD you can buy a permit that allows you to drive on anything except Interstate roadways. The Gunnison area of Colorado is ATV-friendly, too.) My Can-Am dealer in central Iowa has a nice service department. A good tip by you on that matter.

A friend had one of these UTE off road vehicles that they removed the "door". He flipped the thing and fell out. He suffered a compound fracture of his leg above and below the knee. If his nephew had not been there to apply a turnicut he would have bleed out on the trail. He was flown directly from their cabin to Hershey Medical Center.
To everyone considering buying an off road vehicle, treat them with respect.
    Great video Mike.

I've got one just like it. Use it for dreading logs and loading the wood, pulling the splitter, taking gas cans to the lake, and hauling stuff. I can launch my 2 SeaDoo trailer with it. And just buzz around. And it is fast. Traveling 50 plus on a country road is a bit freaky. Don't do that too often. I recommend it too!

Mike, thank you for the review of the Polaris. I am still debating; I understand your dislikes but the one thing that makes me angry is the customer service. I am thinking about the workhorse (gasoline) where the bed lifts up similar to a dump truck. I need it for tree cutting and hauling my log splitter around different locations of my property (30 acres). I think it will be perfect for my needs.

I just at the end caught the name of the channel lol. That’s cool.
My service center is in Canton IL, named slaights I believe. They are good. Big building. Very easy.. no hassle. I have a 2022 ranger 1000 premium. Not the crew, my woods are very technical. But they make a bench seat for the bed and I can throw a small trailer on it and go down to our beach. I’m not really hauling people with the thing, like you I use it for working around the property. And I’m going to keep it performance wise completely stock. It has enough ground clearance and approach departure angles to tackle anything with common sense. I’ll keep alert for the issues you’re having but fingers crossed they worked out those bugs for the 22 models

I love my local dealer - Stokes Victory/ Polaris in Pensacola, FL. They are a full service dealer and ALL of the folks there are GREAT to work with. They really go out of their way to help you with parts as well as information if you are dealing with an issue that is hard to figure out even if you are working on it yourself. I can't say enough good about them. I used to have a Sportsman 500 so did my neighbor and I worked on both of those and a few other Polaris' locally. Right now I don't really have enough property to warrant one so i am using a lifted golf cart for everything but you can bet that when I am ready to back to a UTV, it'll be a Polaris and it will be from Stokes.

Honest Opinion, The Kubota is better, and will outlast a Ranger by a long shot, BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, the Kubota is just so darn slow, If you want it 100% for work, get the Kubota, but if you want some trail riding and cursing around and work, get a Ranger

We have a 2010 ranger HD 800. Put big tires on it with a 5000lb winch and skid plates. Love it. Starting riding on state trails with my wife and Mini Bull terrier. Use it on the farm now. Absolutely reliable. The problem I have experienced with dealerships is that the mechanics are not trained on the machine. Most are young and experienced. Have had the same work done two and three times and yes I had to pay for it each time. My advise is to find a good mechanic regardless of the dealership to work on your machine.

Well i see thomas brighton has already used my comment. I think that many of your subs really use your reviews to help them on making decisions when purchasing equipment that you use and review. I know i trust your reviews and yours will be the deciding factor on me buying a ranger as it was on me buying the RK55. With that said if either machine turns out to be JUNK, i will not blame you for talking me into buying it. I just trust your reviews and use these machines in about the same way that you do.thanks

Mike..I am buying a Polaris General Deluxe side by side. They come standard with a winch that is operated by a switch on the dash, but I sure like your idea of having the switch mounted on the gear shift. Makes a lot of sense. Can you tell me if you know if it is possible to some way remove the switch from the dash and mount it like you have it. By the way, I love your vids and hate the way some of the viewers nic-pick with commensts of not liking the music, intros too long, etc. I like things the way you are doing them. I agree with the comments about Polaris, I think they are good products with fair quality control, I have a friend who is primary servicer at local dealership and he is always busy. Usually minor service issues but still a lot of service is usually needed. I decided on Kawasaki Mule awhile back because they rarely need service. Looked closely at Honda and they are very nice also but the dealer here is new and setup in a one car bay for service, in a gun shop as an after thought.

Have question regarding your Kubota. It appears to be new enough to have the Tier 4 DPS system that requires an occasional burnout. Is that a nuisance and how often must you engage the DPS burn out system on your Kubota? You have a neat site and must take loads of time to make and edit the videos. We all really appreciate them.

Bought a 2017 900 Crew after having a fantastic experience with our 2011. So far, mixed results, to say the least. Ride and noise are much better, (engine moved to under the bed). Documentation on service and service intervals a horrible. Tried to get more info from Polaris, and after multiple attempts, radio silence. Miscellaneous appointments & trim terrible. Headline fell off, rear seat cup holder near the ground, (who would ever put a drink down then and then later take a sip, are the designers in a cave?). I asked my dealer if they could put me in contact with their Polaris rep. The dealers response, “don’t bother, they don’t listen to us either”. While these smaller issues could be over looked if it runs like my 2011,the fact that the warranty has been cut to 6 months from 24 months, makes me doubt my decision. I did not shop any other manufacturers, probably a mistake I am sad to say.

I have a Ranger 900cc and agree that maintenance areas are not spacious and simply do not present the dealership as having a professional maintenance facility. Might add that that Honda dealership suffers from same problem so appears it is not only Polaris. I hunt on leased forested land and do not have option of widening my trails so stuck with a singe seat that has transported 3 adults for short rides to their deer stands. Mine has LED light bar, winch, windshield, hard doors, and rear view mirror. Must say the doors on my 2015 are very difficult to open from inside the machine. One must have the latch in just the right position to get it to open. I have mastered it but my cousin never has. The only other issue is the windshield which fogs up badly on mornings and evenings when I leave my hunting stand. Looking into some sort of cloth that deposits an anti fog coating but this will be the first season using it so not sure how it will work. I have around 900 miles on mine and it goes anywhere I want it to and that has been some really muddy areas which is not uncommon here in south Louisiana, Enjoy all your videos and you clearly put in quite a bit of effort. Told you about the Kobata speed its disgraceful. I have to disagree a bit on the long size. I have the full size, the one you have will not go far off the trails(TOO LONG) my smaller one in length you can go in and out of trees. When you get to your size you might as well get a wrangler or in your case use it. Also you did not mention the seat comfort. The Kawaski bench is a back breaker.

That's pretty cool, but it seem like an old ford ranger or similar size truck would have better ground clearance, a much bigger bed, and cost A LOT less

i think its shameful for a dealer to not be set up to service them, what if one year they have a major recall on all the models? your gonna wait months for your machine to come back

The only thing that I don't like about polaris is the fact that they won't lick into 4 wheel drive going down hill. It isn;t a problem most of the the time except when it is slick or a lot of fist size rocks that have no dirt in them so they act like ballbearings. We bought a RZR in 2015 and I asked the dealer 3 different times if the 4=fwd locked up down hill and he said yes every time. The reason I asked was because i had polaris ATV's before so new from that. That is a dealer problem but company did nothing about it. That said we love the RZR very much in all respects other than a few scary rides we've taken.

Hey Mike, I was just watching this old video of yours, since I have a 2018 Ranger 570 (short cab). We have a new YT channel (Adventures at Home) and our next video will be #49. I just watched a video on how tips grow to 1,000 subscribers and one tip was to watch successful channels. Your channel immediately came to mind! Anyway our 2018 Ranger is running well and no issues with it so far. Occasionally, it slips out of gear when going down hills. I compensate by giving it some gas and feathering the brake. Check out our channel when you get a chance. We are in NE OH. Tom at Adventures at Home.

If you're looking for a good quality dealer check out Abernathy's Honda- Yamaha- Polaris in Union City, Tennessee. They're the highest volume Polaris dealer in the nation, and I can just about guarantee they'll have the lowest price you'll find! They have a facebook page, it looks like people from all over the country go there.

not quite sure I understand. Your beef is that dealer doesnt maintain a shiny work stall? You say your equipment has held up well and havent needed a stall. Do you want them to offer egg sandwiches while you wait for repair? They will keep eggs/buns/cheese/a cook but no one shows up as they make dependable 4 wheelers. Corporate business plan dictates their needs.

I would encourage anyone interested in the Polaris products to research the forum RangerForums.net. Lots of good information for the various models there. Unfortunately for me in my location in Newnan, GA, the local dealer's sales personnel didn't know squat about any of their products. I came to the store after having done some online research about the Ranger Electric Vehicle (EV), and every question I had to the salesman was responded to by "let me check the internet." He didn't know a tenth about the product than I did. Fortunately, Mitchell Marine in LaGrange, GA was also a Polaris dealer and I received great sales and service attention from them and I bought a 2013 model Polaris EV from them four years ago, and I couldn't be happier. I'm on my fifth year of battery life after 180 hours of use and still going strong, although I'm religious about charging and keeping the batteries adequately watered. A good product, but Polaris does seem to fall short in their dealer department.
