Red oak is my personal favorite for cabinets. And as far as sawing and splitting probably my favorite, top notch firewood. My personal favorite all time black jack oak. No fun to cut and some can be hard to split but once it's dry. You can't beat it burn time and nice slow heat. Post oak my second favorite. Ash makes excellent kindling. Dries super fast and burns hot 🥵
Happy Independence Day Mike. respectfully disagree. red oak has the grain pattern of fir. Plus very overpriced. white oak has the classic close grain. Btw if you have a foot long piece of red oak try blowing smoke thru end to end. can be done
