I say take your note with CFMoto about your engine failure so they can improve upon themselves. Your blown engine provided them valuable data toward their quality control and further improvement needed to refine their next gens, and thankfully put up with their words on warranties. I don't like saying goodbye with any particular bike until its manufacturer blisses (aka went bankrupt or worst). Your case is pretty good in my opinion! Though how come that Ninja 650 bore-up clone can die is beyond me. I had seen ER-6N and older Versys topping over 70k without asking to die, but I had beef with a particular orange monster whose cam wear was excessively "normal" to them. This world, dude.
Yo, don't give up on the bike if you like riding it. We have Honda, Kawi and Yamaha that have catastrophic failures too. The difference is CF is much better with how they honor warranty claims. We had a major Japanese brand bike with 5 minutes of riding and a broken piston. Manufacturer stuck our dealership with rebuilding the engine. Took forever to get all the parts. Brand new bike, they should have sent a new engine and got customer riding again quickly. The CF bikes we sell have had very good initial reliability. Warranty claims comparable to major established brands.
Yeah I won’t give up on it it’s true all brands have their issues a lot more testing is needed on these bikes to change the narrative of “cheap Chinese”

If I am not mistaken, the CL-X 700 engine is based on 1st gen Kawasaki 650 parallel twin that were used in Versys, Ninja, and Z 650.
