I love this bike and the Heritage. The engine is awesome and the sound on stanard pipe is great. Power all the way through the rev range and huge dollop of power between 7k n 9k revs. I rode the NK 800 and hated the engine. The fuel injetcion was snatchy at low revs, the engine runs out of puff at 6k. All the power is too low down. The cf moto 700 is amazing engine, even better than the Kawasaki z650 engines. Well done cfmoto. Great little underrated bike.
Watched a lot of reviews about this bike, and to be honest yours was the most specific down to earth and explanatory! I'm definitely gonna test drive one now and maybe get one next year
I just collected mine today and all i can say is what a fantastic handling bike. I made my decision partly due to your terrific review and that of The Lofty Biker who also gave it a great review. Many thanks to you both!!
Great review, I own a 700 CLX Sport & MT650, I live in europe where we get a 5 year warranty on all CF Moto machines, the 700 Sport is such a great bike to have fun with, the handling is just perfect, the looks are just perfect, everywhere I go people stop and want to know everything about the bike, for me the rear shock needs adjusting especially if you hit a slight dip in the road,it feels like your sitting on a pile of bricks lol, I just love it, I can ride for hours on the 700 Sport.
Hi, literally bought one at 5 PM today. Test road it 3 times on Monday. Came home. Researched the bike and brand to death. This review - pretty typical across media platforms. I think this bike manufacturer is going to frighten a few others. Quality of bike is insane for price. Bags of character if not power. Character makes up for it. Hope I enjoy. I'm a new rider, been riding my 2022 Duke 390 for a few months now. I was torn between a few different "midweight nakeds" but I honestly think I'm almost 100% going with the CLX700 SPORT. I love the styling, and the pricepoint is hard to look past. Comparing it to the $10,000+ Honda CB650R, the Yamaha MT-07, Triumph Trident 660....they are all just so much more money...and I don't think the price difference is worth it.
The CB and the Trident might be worth it as they both have primitive traction control systems. I would say, after owning a bike with TC, that TC is an incredible safety device. Unless I were to buy the 700 sport as a pure commuter bike, I'd probably consider other, perhaps used, bikes.
This is one of the best review videos on TH-cam. All the information and opinions you gave were super useful and you were honest. I’m in the market for this bike as my first bike since the Honda CB650R is so hard to find right now. Great video, thank you!!
A great review, and I can only echo your comments as a recent owner of a CL-X Sport. After a decade of riding superbikes, advancing years made me accept the need for something less extreme, so calling in at the local dealer, I clapped eyes onto the CF Moto. At first I thought it was a one-off custom, what with those sexy Brembos, so was gobsmacked to learn that not only was it made in China, but the price was the same as a budget Japanese middleweight. One test ride later, the deal was done. The bike is a hoot to ride as it feels like an overpowered 250, and if it really does weigh 200kg I don’t know how they hide it, as it feels light even wheeling in and out of the garage. Power in sport mode is more than adequate for UK roads. Brakes are awesome, and the ride and handling are fine, apart from the excessive dive under hard braking, but as I’ve not tried adjusting the compression damping yet, this could be improved. If you are in the market for a cool retro styled middleweight, give the CL-X Sport a test ride. It looks cool, is great fun to ride, and TBH is something of a bargain...
Hi. Your comments mirrored my impression. Test ride blew me away. Got back on my other bike (bought a CF today after mucho research) & despite much more power, the CF convinced me my current bike lacked any character. Power isn't everything. The quality and fittings are incredible for price. Checked out long term owners too, couldn't find any massive long ownership problems. All in all, bargains that might not stay bargains in the not too distant future.
Hello, great video, I'm going to buy one of these machines tomorrow (I'm a beginner). I'm really excited. I order it blindly without having driven or seen it. Hopefully I won't be disappointed. Greetings from Germany
Fantastic looking bike and I think they are cheaper now £6300. It was my favourite bike at motorcyclelive this year 2023. As you said for a cafe style bike it seems very comfortable to sit on. The riding position seems perfect even if you are slightly perched forward.

Love it. Lovely little bike with a real unique look. I think the only thing I'd ask them to do is make the rear seat unit be able to be taken off and a proper seat pad clipped on for a pillion. Just so you have that option. Easier to justify when your partner claps eyes on your new purchase. 😉
I've watched a yt video recently with a guy in South America that bought an original CFMoto seat pad original accessory for the pillion. So they thought about it
I own a cfmoto clx sport, my dealer ordered me a pillion seat that replaces the plastic cover, I also had the comfort seat for myself which is slightly higher and very comfortable and it has a diamond stitch finish.

Sv650 all the way - that bike has been sorted and the aftermarket support is there. This is still a toy - maybe it’s reliable, maybe not doesn’t matter if it’s a toy.
Great video, you did awesome job just giving it like most everyday riders would. I have been looking at one of these and debating getting it. Your video I think just sealed me getting it. One thing, where you at in the UK? I want to come across the pond and ride there, looks like a blast!!
How many hours could you ride on it without hurting your wrists/hands with that handlebar setup? is it an all day ride, couple hours, one hour? Assuming you have no issues with nakeds and wind.
I'd always worry that the number plate would catch on the tyre😖, but never heard of it happening. Looks great though besides that.A small headlight fairing would set it off nicely and needs hugger for rear tyre.
I own a cfmoto clx sport, and I have the headlight guard for the bike, your dealer should be able to order you one, along with the pilion seat and rider comfort seat which I ordered.
Cfmoto is getting better with each update/model, but they apparently have major wear issues. I’m curious if it will be reliable for more than 2 years. The bike I sat on in Texas seemed well built except for the switches looked very cheap - they felt eh, okay - looked like they had been in the sun for decades. In the USA insurance doesn’t recognize their vin so people can get insurance and registration yet - they are barely showing up at dealers here.

Indicating all the way around a roundabout seems entirely pointless, what does it mean? I'm in the roundabout and I'll exit somewhere but you get to guess where? I'm in the US perhaps roundabout signalling is different in the UK.
Okay, you beat to death sport mode, eco mode, indicators, comfort but what about lights at night, steering lock, those big brakes, mirrors, luggage possibilities and does that back tyre cover you in the wet? C- could do better (so easily)
Looks a decent bike but it's priced far too close to the Japanese competition. Extras like cruise control and fancy indicators wouldn't sway me from a cb650r. The biggest issue though is the depreciation. Prices will fall like a lead balloon once rolled out of the dealership. The long warranty will have conditions that only a CF Moto dealer can service or only use very specific parts that may be hard to source for a bike that's just been launched and won't sell huge amounts. I'm looking for a new commuter and this could have been a competitor if it weren't for these issues
Different strokes. I'm looking for a long-term middleweight, and in the US I don't ever want to buy a bike without cruise control again, I can be on the expressway for 8 or 10 hours and a throttle lock is OK but not great. I have to spend double this from anyone else to get cruise control. I'd rather buy a non-Chinese bike and I still might, but getting cruise would be real nice. I don't care at all about self-cancelling indicators, but once they put accelerometers in, self cancelling may literally cost nothing to add in, it's just software. Similarly once you have throttle by wire, cruise control is just software and like 4 buttons, it should cost about $50 or less to add to a bike. Which begs the question, why don't more bikes have it?
Looks excellent... sounds like ass - shame it's that Kawi dog awful 650-based engine. WHY would you make a parallel twin with anything but a 270 crank? They sound SO good. This bike sounds like a lawnmower, such a shame. Actually on a re-listen not sure I am right... Sounds a lot nicer in sports mode lol. What timing does this engine have? At the start of the vid, it sounded very... meh. But on the like drive-by/pull-away clips it sounds much nicer.
Sorry but I just didn't like the looks at all. Just me, it's not my type of bike. I can see how it would appeal to other bikers. The only good part of the rear end is the light. Still great video and presentation as always.

Actually on a re-listen not sure I am right... Sounds a lot nicer in sports mode lol. What timing does this engine have? At the start of the vid, it sounded very... meh. But on the like drive-by/pull-away clips it sounds much nicer.
But it is for one person....
No, but passenger needs a small arse.

There is a pillion seat available from dealer and comfort seat for rider. Both are a must purchase.

Sorry but I just didn't like the looks at all. Just me, it's not my type of bike. I can see how it would appeal to other bikers. The only good part of the rear end is the light. Still great video and presentation as always.
Fantastic review!!
