It's probably not on purpose, but you refer to Crona as a boy in this recording. The episode states multiple times that Crona's gender is unspecified, and thus should have the pronouns they/them. There are multiple official Soul Eater statements that back this up.

In the anime Corona is referred to as he and considering Josh said it was one of his favorite anime it's more than likely that he's familiar with that version

(Not that it wasn’t correct before it’s just that the episode came out at a REALLY bad time for the inevitable DB curse to kick in)
