Okay update, decided to watch on my own first.
As for MY favorite types
1. Dragon: Versatility, lore, raw power, designs, good defenses, and the idea of befriending and training a dragon is nothing short of amazing, makes up for underwhelming offensive capabilities.
2. Psychic: Well designed once it got its act together after Gen 1.
3. Ghost: Gotta scare those kiddies somehow
4. Fairy: (Dragon Haters) YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!! You were supposed to vanquish the dragons, not join them! 😈
5. Steel: The embodiment of a defensive type
6. Fire: Half of my favorite starters are Fire types, and I am honestly surprised at how defensive it is.
7. Water: Always there to fill whatever niche I am missing.
8. Normal: Probably the most important type as it embodies all types combined into one, yet none of them… also making sounds is something normal.
9. Grass: I always like to have a Fire/Water/Grass build for my teams.
10. Poison: Love the designs, love the more tactical strategy, don’t love them always being used as an villain’s type (Roxie for life!)
11. Dark: IMO, not a single bad looking Dark type out there, though negotiating its weaknesses can be odd.
12. Ice: High risk, high reward, it’s awesome when it works, and frustrating when it doesn’t.
13. Electric: One not in strategy for the most part, but it’s not a bad strategy and there’s a lot of great designs.
14. Bug: The abundance of lows really put a damper on the highs that are fantastic. Still, I am glad they’re getting love.
15. Fighting: This was at one point my least favorite type because of PTSD from Blue’s Machamp. While this type HAS grown on me, I am not too keen on most mono Fighting types outside of Machamp, and Mienshou.
16. Flying: So many birds that aren’t even that great.
17. Ground: I like Groudon, Silicobra, Garchomp, most of the Water/Ground types, and that’s really it
18. Rock: Too many plain rocks, and too many moves with terrible accuracy.

Dragon types are my personal favourite pokemon type, but I can agree it's overused as a legendary pokemon type.
5:20 He actually did but you talked over it. He said Staraptor, Sigilyph and the Forces of Nature (Tornadus, Thunduerus and Landorus) were his favorite Flying types.
When I was deciding which are my fav Water-type and Flying--type, I went for Gyarados and Cramorant. Then I realised: oh wait that's the same type combo....
Gyarados doesn’t really count as a Flying type. It can’t learn any Flying moves.

Ice type is my favorite. They've always proven useful to me and I just love the aesthetic. I just wish Gamefreak would tweak them a bit like they have with other types, as Ice really should be good against water, given the whole freezing thing, outside of Freeze Dry. Also, Pokemon like Dunsparce and Musharna get their inspiration from Japanese yokai.

Am I the only one who thinks the Whitney hate is just a tad bit overblown? Sure she’s difficult and cries when you finally beat her, but she gets over it pretty quickly and gives you her badge no problem. Compare that to Clair who’s not exactly easy either in my opinion, then forces you into the Dragon’s Den when you beat her, STILL refuses to give you her badge afterwards, and only complies when the Dragon’s Den Master threatens to tell Lance how much of a sore loser she is. It’s one of the handful of examples where I think the anime does a character more justice than the games.

Josh if you didn’t like Logan’s placement of psychic and fire on his favorites list you wouldn’t like mine either.
I think the reason ice doesn't water, is maybe the same idea behind water's effectiveness against rock. Running water will wear down ice, which is just frozen water, so it would just add to it.
Fighting (And BUG) is SE to Dark because of Superheroes. Mainly Kamen Rider.
25:57 you guys didn't even acknowledge the fact that he got one of the types that dragon is weak to wrong.
He says "fearing steel and itself" as in it's not ideal to be used against either. Not necessarily saying it's weak to both.

dragon i think has the problem where gamefreak loves making them overpowered as well (arceus dragon, giratina origin form, zygarde complete, kyurem black and white, ultra necrozma, mega rayquaza, and eternamax eternatus)
It's JRPG logic, dragons are generally late-game top-tier monsters resistant to almost everything.

I've always wondered why Steel resists Psychic when so much media portrays psychics being able to bend or melt metal with their minds. Shouldn't that mean Steel is weak to Psychic?
There should be a psychic type move that's super effective on steel to reference this, like how Freeze Dry is an ice type move that's super effective on water.
Only reason I can think of is the whole "wearing aluminum foil hats to prevent brainwashing" thing as to why steel resists psychic
Yeah, the reason fighting is super effective against dark is because it references the whole "Good vs Evil" or "cheating never wins" idea, as an underhanded street-brawling punk doesn't have the discipline or skill to outmatch someone trained in martial arts.
my favorites are either grass of fairy.
You should react to some of the Pokémon death battles. Especially the starter battle royale and Mewtwo vs Shadow (even if the fight for that second one is a bit short and underwhelming)
The most inaccurate thing about the starter battle royale was blastoise actually shooting water out of his cannons and not his mouth or forehead.

regidrago and regieleki are more offensive based (regielekis best stat is speed making it the new fastest pokemon in existence. regidrago has the hp stat. there movepools suck ass though. especially regielekis where assurance, ancientpower, espeed, and thunder cage is the best your getting

Also I wouldn’t put it past Bug being #1 it has almost nigh universal type combination like flying, it has great status moves, pretty good type exclusive abilities in compound eyes and tinted lens, great mon representation, and honestly the biggest type glowup in franchise from being arguably the worst type. Especially after Gen IV, V, VI, and VII gave them better moves, better mons, powerful Megas, and made Leech Life 80 base power, and Fell Stinger a +3 50 base power move.

I do like a lot of water types but the overeliance on basic fish Pokémon certainly drags the roster down. For psychic there’s a few I like but they also have a pretty lacking roster when it comes to anything that isn’t sigilyph, deoxys or Reuniclus. And fire is far and away my least favorite of the starter types. I love Salandit, Blacephalon and slugma, but that’s it.
