It wasn't shown in the video but did you follow the instructions in the Lamy booklet that says to let a few drips out before drawing the piston all the way up again? Should resolve the drip issue you showed.

The Van Dieman's May was gorgeous and my favorite. I loved the private reserve color, too, very cool. Their Blue Suede is one of my fav teals!

What a beautiful set of inks. I really like Van Diemans Ink. I have several samples. Their birds of a feather series has some really pretty colors. well, a lot of their ink are stunning. The Lamy 2000 looks very classic. It would be a nice addition to a work planner. I am with you on the purple with green sheen. They look so nice together. That is a wet EF nib. So lovely. Hopefully you can figure out what's going on with the nib. I've thought about a Lamy but just haven't yet.

Oh that looks very interesting! The Lamy 2000 is a pen I’m still thinking about. I inked my new estie os about 3 days ago, and I have a few other new vintage pens I’m still waiting to ink. So that Lamy is still on my mind for the future.
Oh those inks look soooo beautiful!!!

The Lamy was one I had never thought I would add to my collection but I love it! And yay for your new Estie! Which vintage pens are you inking?

    • @Laly7
      @Laly7 ปีที่แล้ว

@@KarynaLovesToPlan I’m going to ink a vintage Waterman (that says made in France) with a gold plated body that has a slight twist to the faceted body, and an 18k nib (which I believe is a F nib). The other is a vintage short Platinum black with gold accents, and an 18k f nib. After these, I have a vintage Esterbrook that has a red body and a lever system (with a F or EF steel nib).
I do have other vintage pens, but I’m slowly finding my way to use them.

I just looked at my Lamy 2000 and it seems like there is a bit less nib surface sticking out (visible) on mine. I wonder if you should very gently push in the nib to make sure it's properly seated. It always makes sense to try another ink, but I've never seen a Lamy 2K do that. I enjoy my L2K. My only gripe, and it's minor, is that I actually can't see how much ink is left because the ink window is so small and dark.

I have been loving the Endless paper, but I always write on the other side. The “Endless” is written on the back of the page when you have the whole pad, so maybe there will be a better result writing on the other side of the paper. Thanks for a great video. I def want to try the Lamy 2000

Those samples are all really nice colors. I just got my Lamy 2000 a few weeks back as well. Something about it is so classic and sexy, and indeed a timeless piece. The little stubs don’t bother me at all. I find they act like anchors for me, letting me know I am holding the pen at the perfect point. I prefer to hold this specific pen a little further back. And like you, I don’t normally post but this pen just calls for it. I ordered a F, though I have heard that these nibs run very wet and can write a bit broader. I was looking forward to a ridiculously wet pen. However with Iroshizuki Murasaki I find it’s not overly wet. Based on the comments I saw vs what I experienced I was wondering if they sent me an EF! I am not brave enough to disassemble the pen and check though. Plus I am pleased with my experience.
Re your nib, it may be a bad combination because I have heard that PR inks are very wet, so may not be best in a very wet nib.
Enjoy your pen and these inks. 👍🏽

I have many Lamy 2ks. They have a wide array of nib choices including BB's and O nibs as well. I don't ever remember ink creeping up to the nib even with the wider nibs. Maybe ask the provider. They should be able to help you out. I am surprised you tried this pen actually. You seem to have quite set preferences when it comes to pens; especially when it comes to writing comfort you're very clear on what you want. And the 2k can be fidgety because of its sweet spot when touching paper. Usually people who don't adjust their writing depending on the pen and nib do not prefer the 2k unless the sweet spot is actually the way they write😊.. I am glad you tried it though; it will be interresting to hear your thoughts when you have used it for a while. Personally I love the 2k, but I am one those who will adjust my writing style to the pen as well. I hope you'll make another video after you've used the pen for a while

Hey Karyna I loved this swatching video. I get what you are saying about liking to do voiceovers rather than live. However, from my perspective I prefer live. Hearing the cat scratch, you clank the glass, the sound the pens make; it all gives a very immersive feeling. You could actually not talk and just swatch the color and let the natural sounds speak for themselves. Then chat once you have finished swatching the color. 💜

hi sis, Congrats on your new pen! For the Lamy 2k don't fill it so much, that's one of the reasons why the ink is coming out in the nib. Had the same experience before and read this somewhere in fb group about that issue so thats the hack. Either you throw/twist some before start writing ;)

Some wet, alkaline inks create nib creep (the traces left on the nib). It’s probably that rather than anything to do with the Lamy 2000. I would try it with an ink you use regularly (but not an Iroshizuku which will probably give you the same result).
Greatly enjoyed the video - thank you.

Late to the party here, but did you twist the piston back so a couple of drips come out before twisting it back again? That may be the problem. I have a wonderful Lamy 2000 fine, which is glorious. I do not have that “ink on the top of the nib” problem. It is my favorite pen. I would not ever put a shimmer ink in there, since you can’t take it apart and clean out the glitter without voiding the warranty and risking destroying the pen. I only put shimmers in less pricey demonstrators (twsbi) that are easy to clean.

This was recommended to me and I've tried it and it does seem to work! I put shimmers in everything!

I JUST received my own Lamy 2000 in an EF nib. My only explanation is that the ink you’re using is too wet for the pen. I’m using Ferris wheel press goose pompon with my pen and I’m not having that issue you’re having.

Oh, this was so fun! I love, love, love the Mata Hari's Cordial, but I also love that beautiful light blue. I want both of them, even though I haven't been able to buy my Estie yet. That Lamy pen is quite surprising to me! Ya know what it reminds me of? A pen that all of the men in "Mad Men" should have been using. I remember back in the early 1980s a lot of businessmen used the shiny black Mont Blanc pen. I'm interested to hear what you think of it. What a fun opportunity this was for you, huh?
