BMW's Dingolfing plant revs up for the future with the debut of the new 5 Series Touring. This innovative wagon is the first in its class to offer not just gasoline, diesel, and plug-in hybrid options, but also a fully electric drivetrain - the BMW i5 Touring!
This marks the fourth all-electric vehicle to roll off the Dingolfing production line in just three years, solidifying their commitment to sustainable mobility. Dingolfing has been the exclusive producer of the 5 Series Touring since 1991, with over 1.2 million cars built. The new generation continues this legacy, with all models (electric, gas, and plug-in hybrid) built on a single, flexible production line alongside the 5 Series Sedan and 4/6 Series.
This commitment to innovation and efficiency is further underscored by the €80 million investment in the Dingolfing plant for the new 2024 BMW 5 Series Touring.
