The excitement from the comic community regarding these Timeless series of covers reminds me greatly of the release of Joe Jusko's Marvel Masterpieces cards. The excitement and fervor was palpable in the same way.

Fantastic work! I like how threatening Apocalypse and Magneto look, while doing very little. Also, I've always had a soft spot for Ditko's version of the Lizard. Which you rendered perfectly.

What I love with these paintings, it's that it's not a teenagers world of superheroes, but adults, with bodies and faces that have lived...

What this reveals is not only that Alex is a great artist, but also that villains almost always wear green or purple.
Seriously we should not expect anything less from Alex Ross.

Sorry to tell you this but elektra is not a villain although she once was now she is a hero man
He went into that in another video. He said that he felt the pantheon of iconic villains was a bit one sided toward men, so he had to get creative to include some of the dynamic woman characters that were at one time either villains or antihero enough to include, so there would still be some variety in characters shown.
In fact, I think all the women he included have been heros: Jean grey, Emma frost, Electra, mystique...they've all been on the side of good, most of which even part of a hero team like the x-men.

I love not only the artistry shown, but the choices you made of whom to put in this...such iconic characters, such iconic and dynamic looks.
It always has fascinated me that heroes are almost always in reds and blues while villains are greens and purples.

This masterpiece has this amazing ability to relax me. When I was younger I would go to the bookstore like Borders, to check out the Marvel comics art books. When I see the villains you create, I can't but help myself to get into the story of the villains.

1:30, 2:27, 4:30 and all of the Spidey villains are my favorites artistic interpretations of them. Alex Ross has ALWAYS been a superbly awesome artist. I love the book Marvels and LOVE anything Spider-Man that he creates!

5:30 I never noticed that he had a feathered tail before, also can you do the same on DC villains the ones I want in the lineup is the Penguin, Vandal Savage, Eclipso, Shadow thief,Gentleman ghost, Mongul, Golden Glider and Despero and the rest is yours Alex Ross.
To this day one of my most prized possessions is my JLA 2000 heroes series that I had all lamenated and framed so they wouldn't lose their white color. The highlights are my door size Green Lantern, Batman, and Superman.
