This is the comparison I needed! Been seriously thinking about changing my matte 4k display to a glossy, higher PPI one. That higher sharpness/resolution really makes a difference imo
I honestly think the lack of inputs is something other reviewers have really neglected to mention. Obviously as a student, it seems wasteful to need two displays for consoles, etc, but even for office use, I have a desktop and a laptop, and not being able to even switch inputs is honestly a joke. One of the main advantages to high res monitors is the ability to do things like picture in picture with other inputs, but this is restricted to a single thunderbolt port. I guess its just one of those apple things, its designed to work in a particular way for some of their products with very little choice for the end user (though I imagine many will own a mac studio AND a macbook, so even then it seems stupid).
Hi Ella, you are a fast learner, the quality of your videos is improving from one to the other, they're look amazing and I enjoy it and I don't miss any video here or on the vlog channel, Keep it that way sis! ❤
4:57 that reaction is priceless 😂😂 Jolly good show @Created by Ella excellent breakdown and comparison. I agree with the reflection handling on the Apple Studio. The mic quality was very good actually.
I kinda disagree, I love Apple build quality and the feel of aluminum over plastic, but the bezzles are way too thick for me and look dated. Monitors like the Dell u2723qe look better for a third of the price in my opinion
Congrats - this thing looks nice! If I ever went to a desktop productivity setup, I feel like this would be a top contender. Something you can basically buy once and use for like 10 years. However, my desktop PC setup is reserved for PC gaming, so I'm sticking with my 1440p MSI display so I don't need an utterly bonkers video card to drive it. My MacBook Pro's wide gamut and high dpi display can handle the productivity end of things.
I personally would choose the M8 than the Mac, it’s worth the money and not that expensive. Plus the display on M8 is 32 inches whilst the studio display is 27 inches
How about the new Samsung 32" M8 UHD monitor which includes a stand with vertical adjustment, which also happens to be a Smart TV, and has HDMI input. It costs a little bit more than the vertical adjustment OPTION on the Apple Studio!
@@Cars_with_max enjoy paying 3x the price (with the vertical adjustment), for a 5" smaller screen and way less functionality. Loving my M8 and what it provides.
@@grahambrown42 uh the smaller screen isn’t a down grade because some times it wan be to big and that stupid attachment camera is stupid on the M8 and if you want the best all in 1 monitor and pc just get the 24inch iMac
Legit question, why not use an LG OLED TV if you want a glossy monitor? Is the color accuracy not good enough on it or something? For me it works great, but I don't do content creation.
@@sebastianyuan I checked some reviews, the LG OLED 48CX in gaming mode has lower input lag than the Apple Studio display. But yeah, in TV mode it's significantly higher. Regarding burn in, this is only an issue if you use the TV at high brightness settings for long periods of time.
Awesome unboxing, that sucks that you can't connect your Xbox or Nintendo switch to it. That's definitely a downside for me too since I would want to mostly play games on it.
Great review! This may have been mentioned, but an Elgato device can easily let you play games on any Mac, including laptops. I’ve done so with my PS4 and MBP (using an Elgato HD60 through a dongle even). Any introduced lag is imperceptible (only a frame or two).
Nice vid as always 😁 I don't know if it's me, but the editing of this one was on a different level that your other vids (not that they were bad, not at all 😅). Nice job 👍🏻
i my mind during the video ... why she hasnt bought the spectrum one ... and at the and ... my answer ahahahhaha hope to see an amazing video about the spectrum
I have been looking for a good Mac display. Tried ones with an MSRP of over $1,000. Nothing comes close to blacks on this one, close to OLED (80%) give or take to my eyes. Built in webcam, speakers and being able to adjust the brightness is a game changer. I have big desktop speakers (Vanatoo Transparent One Encore) on stands that are NOT ideal for at night listening or watching movies so being able to switch to monitor speakers is amazing. Not having an HDMI was a big letdown, founds couple of workarounds for Nintendo Switch. Elgato HD60 S+ for $150 and GENKI ShadowCast for $50 both on Amazon.
I love Apple products but how they want you to do as they want not as you want. With that money you couldn't still connect your favourites on it. Great video Ella.
First time to see your clip and I have to admit that you've got my sub accordingly due to the pro style of shooting, coloring as well as the neat content. The improvement if yet is only the way that you put your gear on screen should be taking the well care off. Like the Monitor should be cleaned carefully so when you put it in the 4-5K with HDR, it would not reflex all the dust or your fingerprints causing the negative feeling for the viewers. Hope it would help! Peace!🤟
Also other monitors are better then this Mac display for less the cost the Samsung game inch monitor has 4K oled 120hz or more but it’s also curved meaning you can do vary good multitasking
Your voice sounds good, really, but it did sounded kind of echoey, maybe the mic volume was to high the room too enclosed, but even with the echo still sounded good. Good unboxing video and interesting to see that your using both the new monitor and your previous monitor as an extended display. That is pretty much how I have my setup, but I can only do one monitor, might be able to do another monitor with an adapter, however don’t really need another monitor. 😺👌🥰📱⭐️💎
No idea why people talks about removing the AC cord…. As it is not a portable screen… how many time in a lifespan… will you have to remove the cord… and, most of the time, the 2 sides are almost the same size… 😵💫🤔🤔
5k, glossy, p3 is good, but I don't think it's enough to justify the price. Lack of compatibility is indeed the biggest downside, no hdr is also a big downside for me. I think there's other monitors that can do better specially on that price.
Tell me which one… I try to find better monitor for this price range… with that good ppi… I did not find some… ici, benq, asus, Dell, Lg…. All in the same price range for the same screen quality (not for gamer… but for content creator)…
60 hz gives me brain freeze, like a seizure almost. No way would I buy that. Oddly, my (moto) phone is 60 hz but doesn't have that effect. I may get the iphone 15 when it comes out. Waiting for usb port, and hopefully colors like amethyst, aubergine, claret...☺️ The camera is the most important to me, zoom And macro also.
This is of course Apple in a nutshell and it's why I have such a love/hate relationship with them. As you probably know, they have a (very expensive) solution to your XBox and Ninendo problem: buy the Apple Studio as well for a mere $2K. That has an HDMI port so I assume it would work fine. Apple could have been nice and just included an HDMI port in the Studio Display but that's not really how they roll. Enticing you to spend even more money is more in their wheelhouse. In an unrelated story..........are you Canadian? I can't place your slight accent!
Studio Display essentially equipped with the same panel (LM270QQ2) that can be found on 27' ultrafine 5k. There was no difference in terms of performance compared to its predecessor.

Probably sharpness, 4K on a 48 inch panel is only 92 PPI (or 104 PPI with 42 inch), compared to 218 PPI on the Studio Display.
