    The monitor is for eveyone that wanted an XDR display but couldn’t stomach paying $6k for it. Beautiful, clean and seamless integration with macbooks--thats why i ordered one. Been working with a 27' HP Envy 4k (was around $450)--Beautiful in its on right, but I know this Strudio display will fill all the gaps its had.

    Unpacking an Apple product is a different experience every time. The Studio Display is beautiful. Have fun with your Mac Studio and Studio Display! It will also be my first Mac monitor. The delivery times are already well on the way. But I've been waiting for 5 years. I can wait a little longer.

    Will probably get some combination of the new display and studio Mac to replace a 27” iMac nearing the end of its life. Going back to the smaller display in the new iMacs is unappealing.

    Does anyone think Apple will eventually push other capabilities to the Studio Display bc it has that iph11 chip AND THAT ADDITIONAL RAM? No one talks about Apple putting that extra RAM in the display. Could it handle additional video mirroring on its own or audio, or some other feature (via software) as yet to be revealed?

    It’s not creatives - has no hdr - it’s a must these days. Also professional creatives don’t need 600 nits max 100-160 nits. So it’s hard to say who is it for… oh yeah people who put design above all that’s all.

    TY! I always like hearing about things from a cool chick perspective...\The way I feel about the whole studio package is that it's just what I'd expect, as I've been around long enough to see that most tech companies are just doing a lil side stepping by beefing old, recycled parts, while preventing over heating issues.
    My guess is that the studio was meant to be used with an external speaker such as their virtual assistants of some sort????
    I forget the name!
    What would have been new and exciting to me, would be the addition of a sleek new sound bar that could be used along with either! Something that would rival Samsungs market and give a thought about going apple and siri for my eco-system to secure my apt. My sound system being connected to my security system is more important to me now, and to have a whole Apple system to also use as my sound studio would have been something NEW and innovative to me!
    Apples version of a sound bar.
    Maybe with some sort of light system, and it could hang on the wall, above the screen, or sit under the desk with the studio. for those who like the use of their whole desk surface.
    lighting and sleek design is the talk right now, as far as I can tell, so jump on that and throw in computer upgrades like these two as NEW POWER, MORE PORTS, ADDED FUNCTIONALITY, & ALL FROM AN ALL EMCOMPASSING SYSTEM THAT IS MORE ENVIRONMENT SAVING????? Whatever it really is...
    They really would have made my mouth water if they had thrown in some studio grade head phones to make this that once in a lifetime purchase that starving students want to have just this one time, if never again. Ooooorrr, maybe they could have gotten into microphones now, and really make this a (STUDIO PACKAGE) to compete with the Focusrite Audio Interface crowd, and Samsung's space with the SMART HOME DEVICES crowd, like me who loves bundles, and anything music & lighting that is re-designable is going to catch my attention.\
    As faras you video goes, I was more interested in the mouse and keyboard, and wonder if you plan to show those closer up, as I gathered quite a few new ideas for those also. At this point, Apple needs to contact me. I got the future of Apple all bundled up...lol

    You should revisit this product considering how much more information about this product has come out.
    Apple really over engineered this product. Making it really hard to find a positive considering how it was developed.
    Things like selling a extra display arm, no chance at the power cable to be removed etc. Very purposefully made to be difficult and forced options that are too expensive that should have been added already. I have difficulties buying from any company who tries to trick you into buying stuff that should have just been added to the product in the first place.

    Thanks for the review. I paired my 16" M1 Pro with a 43" Dell UltraSharp for literally half the cost of the Studio Display. Couldn't be happier. The Studio Display is just way overpriced in my (and many TH-camrs') opinion for what you get. 4K is just fine with me with a bigger screen real-estate.

    • @danieldev514
      @danieldev514 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      4K looks awful at anything bigger than 24 inch due to how scaling works in macOS. I am a developer so I am definitely getting the studio display so that text (something i look at 10h+ a day) looks as sharp as possible. My previous 32 inch 4K monitor just looks awful when looking at text, nothing close to my macbook.

    • @JimKanaris
      @JimKanaris 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danieldev514 ... in your opinion. Personally, I think you're exaggerating. I'm pretty anal about these things (I'm a writer/author/amateur content creator) and I think the 4K 43" looks great. In fact, it looks good enough that my 16" M1 Pro is mostly in clam shell mode. Dell UltraSharp is a pretty "sharp" display.

    For 50 dollars less you can buy a refurbished 2020 5K iMac directly from Apple. It comes with the same display, a full built in computer and keyboard and mouse. And this iMac would be fine for 99 percent of people.

    • @incredibilistic
      @incredibilistic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But that's not really a fair comparison. For starters, the 2020 iMac doesn't have Apple silicon, which I assume means support will die off earlier than for a system running Apple silicon. Secondly, the Studio Display was designed to pair with the Mac Mini, Mac Studio and the upcoming Mac Pro that Apple teased in the last keynote, so while it might seem niche at the moment that won't last.

    • @eraldway
      @eraldway 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@incredibilistic Studio Display and a Mac Studio would cost me over 4000 dollars with tax. The 2020 iMac doesn't have Apple silicon. Does it matter? Does the computer turn on? Yes. Does it do everything I need it it to do? Yes. Also, the last iMac Late 2013 I had, lost support 3 years ago, yet it is still usable today and still sitting in my kitchen. So lets say Apple drops support for the 2020 iMac in 2025. That is four years of "supported" use that I got out of this computer and since it was still less than buying a studio display alone, I wouldn't be losing much.

    • @incredibilistic
      @incredibilistic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eraldway -- I'm not at all disagreeing with you, just that your comment deserved context.
      Yes, a 2020 iMac is less expensive than the Studio Display and the iMac does a lot more but they're clearly different products that serve different purposes and workflows.
      One thing we can agree on is that Apple products aren't cheap but if you want a Mac sometimes you have to settle for good enough.
      For me the Mac Studio and the Studio Display will be a monumental upgrade. I'm still rockin' a Late 2012 iMac and as much as I've wanted to upgrade over the years the configuration I wanted was always well outside my price range. Thankfully I'm in a position where I can afford to upgrade and I'm kinda glad I waited as I feel like I'm getting Apple at their best. Well, not their "best, best." There's still the Mac Pro that they'll likely announce in June but I don't need anything that beefy.
      Some have said the Mac Studio is overkill for certain workflows, which is great because it'll mean that if it's another 10 years before I can upgrade it'll still be a beast.
      Cheers! 👍🏽

      This is equivalent to saying: "Instead of buying a $60,000 BMW 3 series you could just go buy a used BMW X5 for almost the same price".
      They're different models with different target markets with different use-cases.
