    That's awesome. I've been learning and learning for a while now and the way you experiment is priceless to me and has finally given me the confidence to actually start trying more advance fixes. I am disabled and get sick too easy and I am only mid 20s I've been trying to learn tech repair for years to make money. It started adding mod chips to game consoles to now finally confident enough to start diagnosing some failed hardware like graphics cards , TVs , a few laptops, reading voltages from overclocking directly from the board. Thank you very much. You have taught me so much. I may have misheard a video around this time last year but I think you said it was your birthday soon and either way happy birthday man.

    37:50 I like your idea to use that DC to DC buck converter to replace burned 5V chip regulator on the board.
    You fixed that tv fast and with low cost.
    For me that was brilliant because,
    that DC converter (as you've said) is not linear like that one, which you've used in old video during the very big speaker repair, but here this one is switching type, so there will be no over heating danger and also it has coil and big capacitors already on the board, so it is perfect for this situation. I have exactly the same DC converter at home but I've never thought in this way to use it in that kind of case.
    Great idea! Thank you for advice.

    BAUHN is an ALDI supermarket brand. Here in Australia, at one stage i was going around picking up unwanted (working or non working) TV's. one was a 50 inch Bauhn. it worked but couldn't change channels or something. I asked the owners if they looked at getting it repaired, they said they took it to the local repair people (more than one shop i believe) and each time they walked in with it as soon as the shop person seen the brand they were told they don't repair that brand because it's junk and to just go buy another one. That is my knowledge of the Bauhn brand pronounced BORN here.

    Lets have a look Sorin!
    The student is with you, 😁
    Ok writting down. Use petro or alcohol to find hot chip. Teacher just showed student to not use finger. 😀

    • @Labyrnthdom
      @Labyrnthdom 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danielsatko- Thats actually an opinion. Alcohol works to a certain point. And is great. However, what i have found to be a fact. Is that some flux that is left on boards from the factory. Alcohol has a hard time removing it. It just kind of spreads it around causing a larger sticky area. Lighter fluid will wipe this residual sticky mess right off the board with ease. You should really try it. And not fall into line with everyone else. Make your own conclusion.
      Lighter fluid does not evaporate as fast as alcohol does. So it gives you a little more time to find a bad component when you are using this method. Both do work. Its a personal preference on what you want to use.

    • @Labyrnthdom
      @Labyrnthdom 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danielsatko- negative, lighter fluid does not leave anything. Try it and you will see.
      As far as your comment about evaporation when heat is applied. Yes alcohol does evaporate faster. Which gives you less time to notice where the heat initially started. Unless you are looking directly at the cause.

    • @Labyrnthdom
      @Labyrnthdom 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danielsatko- no, i do get it.
      With alcohol you have to keep adding it over and over until you find it. Its completely different with lighter fluid. And if you would of tried it instead of saying alcohol is better. You would not be here now trying to justify your comment.
