    Sorin? I think your videos are great. The way you fault find and you never let anything go to the land fill. You'll always find a way to repair.
    And I love the way you talk to the camera! Asking Ok? You understand? ... these little things make it much more personal.
    Great see you next time mate

    The good old blown caps. Fixed many a telly with blown caps and bad power board

    • @TaaRiiFrp
      @TaaRiiFrp 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the bad cap was 25v 100uf, he used 35v 100uf and ?v 470uf. what do we need to care about, volts or uf. can we used more volts and less uf etc. can you please explaine?

    • @incandescentwithrage
      @incandescentwithrage 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TaaRiiFrp You need to care about both.
      Replacements should be the same voltage rating or higher, and the same capacitance or higher.
      Voltage is most important as if you push a capacitor over its voltage rating it can explode.
      The lower capacitance value he used for 2 caps in this video is usually ok for a quick fix but will create more ripple on that voltage rail and the set will have a shorter life than if the correct value was used. Either way, the 470uF of the replacements was higher than the capacitance of the dead ones.

      because these Capxon caps are really crap quality and after the years of heating and cooling down they fail that's why he goes straight away to replacing them instead of analyzing the circuit.

    • @vlatkosurlan545

      If the TV is old enough you can safely assume that the capacitors failed simply due to wear and tear.

      Ja Sam.
      Switchmode power supplys drive the smoothing capacitors hard, they get really hot and lose there effect, so the output voltage drops.
      It is typical for any switchmode, Pc,Tv,Laptop,Washing machine, and many more.

    The same model LE19R86WD problem but, I tested all the capacitors, and are good, ok some are very close to the value so I don't think are capacitors in my case, in the connector that goes to the mainboard I have the 14.5v in three-pin so I think power board is ok. I put on the TV, I see the red led on and a short sound from the TV and nothing else, What I can do? , Thanks for the answer

    Should diodes always test OL on reverse polarity? I have a technika TV that only comes on sometimes when I press the power button. I found two diodes that are in parallel, and test 0.152 in diode mode and 0.868 in reverse polarity, while all other diodes are around 0.5 and OL in reverse polarity? Is this normal behaviour or are they diodes bad?

    If you want the Tv/Monitor repair to last, then use 105 deg caps :)

    I have a question: Do you know something about receivers also as they are basically computers? My Yamaha receiver died, I mean, no audio, everything else is working as new. From internet I found, that this is quite common fault for that receiver model(unfortunately I did not read 1 star feedback before buying it), that audio dies, but video is still working fine. Is there separate chips on board as I used same HDMI cable for audio/video? Before it died, it started to fail starting up audio turning device on immediately, day by day it took longer(minutes), until after few months no audio at all. Every time, audio started, I heard some click as some relay or something switched on inside. Do you have idea, what that can be and would it be repairable or that is some processor-chip failure which replacement is impossible to find?

  • @Radek__
    @Radek__ 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    13:30 Sorin I have a question. If I use bigger capacity value, let say 1500 instead of 1000uF at the end of the power supply, then is it means that my voltage will be only nicer, more flat, or wat? Is there any side effect? (higher voltage, higher resistance, current draw, etc). I was always wondered -is it safe for circuit to increase capacity? Almost everyone is saying "you can choose capacitor with higher voltage, but always use the same capacity". So what the truth is?

    • @FEMADEATHCAMPCONTROL
      @FEMADEATHCAMPCONTROL 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bigger capacity is fine on a smoothing capacitor like that. Its just a bigger bucket for the electrons, but the same amount going in and out producing a smoothed DC output after the rectifier.
      You would want exactly the same capacity if the capacitor was coupling AC signals as part of a filter, or as part of a timing circuit, but this one isnt.
      Voltage ratings are important though, keep them always the same or higher.
      I dont know why he used 470uF as a replacement for 1000uF though, thats not good, but if thats all he had and he was in a hurry and it was for a friend ...... it will still work, just not ideal.

    Some basic video editing would help. Your videos are good but way too long and full of you messing about unscrewing stuff and looking for things in your workshop. I know its realistic, but its kind of frustrating to watch.
    You will probably say just fast forward it then, but because you are giving out good advice at various times during the video, its impossible to know when its ok to fast forward.
    Shame really because you clearly know what you are doing with repairs.
    I hope you take this as constructive criticism, meant to make your videos even better.
    You arent the only one who never edits their videos.
    Having said that, this is one of your shorter ones isnt it? LOL
    BTW. Caps are a certain minimum size for a reason. I hope you dont just put any old value you can find when charging customers.
