    Thanks for testing 3-channel control with the Matek F405 board. I actually asked about your opinion on the perfomance prospects with this set-up about about a year ago, and now you have fullfilled my personal request! I'm honoured! It would have been interesting to also find out if the auto-tune function in iNav can make a difference to to the "wiggliness" you experienced.

    A month ago I got it into my head to add FPV to one of my favorite gliders. Since I wanted a nice OSD, I added a Matek F411-wing FC onto my trusty Parkzone Radian. But I'm a bit confused how to connect the rudder servo. At the 1:37 mark you mentioned that you had the "rudder servo plugged into the aileron channel". In the documentation on iNav for ths flight controller it says there are (2) aileron channels. Can you tell me which one to connect the rudder servo onto? BTW, thanks for all the great videos! Been a subscriber for a while now.

    • @AndrewNewton

    Hello. Your video is really what I was looking for. A question. Can it be done in INAV that when the rudder turns, there is an elevator compensation? The turn would be much smoother and the wingtip would not drop. Truth?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      INAV uses gyros accelerometers baro and GPS rather than mixing to maintain altitude and attitude. Not really designed for use without ailerons too.

    • @Stemplar42
      @Stemplar42 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndrewNewton It's true. That is why the only thing left for us in these gliders is to put a polyhedral wing. This should improve self-stabilization.

    • @AndrewNewton

    Good time for building if you can get the parts. All my FPV planes don't have landing gear. I want to buy/build a small twin engine puller with robust landing gear ( small means < 800 mm wingspan) to use for FPV. If I could make sub-250 that would be great but seems unlikely. Any suggestions?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Impossible unless you're using exotic ultralight materials I would think. Dart 250 is the best available

    • @TakeItToTheGround
      @TakeItToTheGround 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndrewNewton Sounds like a bit of a challenge. BTW: The ZOHD 250 is not really that light. I have built bigger sub-250 (FT dart twin engine, full inav, gps etc) in laminated depron that weigh less and fly's much better. But no landing gear. And I am a very untalented builder - it's just with the quad electronics everything can now be tiny and lightweight, including very powerful motors. Might have answered my own question. A scaled down twin engine Flite Test Mighty Mini Guinea in depron might be the go.

      Plug in to either aileron input on the board. Stabilised roll for the rudder in the mixer. Beware this doesn't work very well. Only works on a slow flying glider and it will wander around in RTH.

      @prep0wer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndrewNewton I learned to work with waypoints in the IL2 PC game. The problem with waypoints is when the plane can not hit a waypoint (too sharp angle, wind, thermals) the plane will use too much time/energy in recovering the route (also hight); best setting is to ignore this waypoint and go to the next waypoint. I also learned to fly RC planes by flying the planes from a external view (CtrF2) in IL2. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IL-2_Sturmovik_(video_game)
