A lot of the mechanics and setup seem to draw heavily from the game Stalcraft; like almost exactly with some minor tweaks here and there (Not to mention a complete graphical overhaul). Which if that is the case I am excited for the game, as it does look like they are wanting to make a more polished version.

Ive been following the game for around a year and a half. It has incredible potential and they've already stated that it will be updated with new regions, weapons, enemy types, etc.
To be fair, this game seem to have a LOT of work put into the environment, it's not just some default UE assets, but an actual art direction going on. Doesn't seem to be a cash grab, "no name" devs notwithstanding

I hope they're able to deliver everything they promise because if they do, then that will make this game stand out so much, which will only draw more and more players to it.
well people forget sometimes that there is a game doing this : THE DIVISION. You can go from a PVE / coop map to a PVPVE map with kind of an extraction system. When we see how extraction looters evolved it's not the same of course but you can see clearly the idea also.
This is a game I want to succeed. Very hesitant as it's a huge undertaking and kind of reminds me of some games that flopped hard, typically from hacking and network issues.
They don’t have to skill match if the level incentives don’t translate directly to PVP. Leveling could simply increase your efficiency in gathering, crafting, etc.
The standard is generally normalized pvp combat mechanics with perhaps loot-specific perks remaining active. I hadn't heard about the extraction shooter part of it until just now, but honestly it hypes me up even more. Literally the best time I've ever had in gaming was the Dark Zone in Division, with DMZ being some bungled rip-off that was done barely well enough to make the new CoD disasters playable. So hyped for this game, and already have about a half dozen people I intend to bully into picking it up with me if it delivers on this promise.
The dopest shit is extraction shooters. For people like me that grew up wanting full loot PvP in MMOs but have all pretty much failed... I got that fix in extraction shooters which is perfect because I be a full loot PvP rat but don't have to waste my life away in an MMO. That's been a perfect balance for me but I also wouldn't mind this kind of mix either and I was lit about Pioner when I first heard about it but didn't think it was going to be this. Am I a little turned off by a PvE only zone? Yes but at the same time it's whatever .. as long as we have the right side of the island I'm good.
Hopefully they follow through def interesting. Im dying for something other than tarkov and marauders and hunt. More stuff to put in the cycle works for me. That other extraction shooter coming i cant remember the name of looks awesome too.
seems like stalker but with fallout 76 rpg questlines and dungeons and also planetside 2 clan system which is you can hold out a resource points for certain times with spice of extractions i see....
Here you got devteam who shows an actual gameplays when they got something to show. Could be a crap, i'm 100% sure it will be downgraded by time, but comparing that to The Day Before where the game was rigged from the start and nobody in right mind was thinking about it as nothing more than suposor bait, this Pioner one could be an actual working game.
Very nice review bud. I play a lot of "survival apocalypse" games. This video got me interested. Albion online, a sand box fantasy mmo rpg game I play, has this sort of pve/pvp type zones, with gathering in certain pvp areas is the best tier, and you CAN port out "extract", or run to your safe city or island.. or hideout in the black zone. I really like this idea in a Stalker type mmo is gonna be pretty cool I think. I've been waiting for this sort game.

Initially, the developers conceived this game differently, but when rich sponsors became interested in it, the studio had more funds, a larger team and more opportunities appeared, so the game was moved because they want to expand and improve it
This is... ambitious. I really hope they don't succumb to the same fate as a lot of other AAA games, a vast ocean of mechanics that are as deep as a puddle.
