- FIRST DRIVE: The F-150 Raptor R is here and Ford is not holding back. This truck competes directly against the RAM TRX off-road and on road. On the outside you will discover a hood bulge with functional heat extractor, bead-lock wheels, standard 37on tires and a unique grill. Under the hood is a 5.2L supercharged V8 that pumps out 700HP & is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Is the NEW 2023 Ford Raptor R a performance truck WORTH the PRICE?

Please there is no hype as the economy is dead and no one could afford this truck if the economy was good it’s $110,000 off the showroom and with dealer mark ups you won’t touch one for less than 125 Ford screwed themselves when they price this truck out of reach of average Americans by comparison you can get an a beautiful TRX eight $82,000? Some people are just followers and will not call out BS when they see it😂

@@AmericanSurvival001 even though I can totally agree that they are priced out of this world, and I am totally on board with the TRX being an incredible machine, I still think there is hype and I still think they will sell. I’ve seen a couple of the Shelby F-150s around and they were priced around the same with markups. Hopefully those dealer markups go down with time. While I don’t dig the increased MSRP, I still think there is a lot of overall excitement.

I must say that the pro-power on-board and massaging front seats are a must, while the ventilated back passenger seats would’ve been nice. Curious to know how the truck performs without the torsen.
I loved the 450hp raptor but THIS is a complete different beast ‼️ LOVE IT 10/10

Dude it’s ridiculously over priced it should Have every option included at this price but what you don’t understand is if they have done that that little coyote engine wouldn’t keep up with the TRX so they purposely left out many options saying we’re doing this for weight savings to balance the truck, BS! And then they price it at a maximum so you’re getting Farless trucks in the TRX and pay dearly for it you’re clueless.

@@AmericanSurvival001 You're 100% correct. I just don't see how a few suspension mods and a larger motor justify a $30, 575 K increase in price. Even if you consider that you're getting the 37" package (a $5250 option and the upgraded interior, the comparable Rhapsody Blue/carbon fiber accented interior is about $3000) nets a difference of about $22,000 for the motor, exhaust and suspension changes. Not at all worth the extra money. This doesn't take into consideration the market adjustments that dealers are adding onto the MSRP. You won't be able to touch one of these for less than $120,000. $120,000 for a pickup truck. It's insanity.
@@Tonyr0206 yes its overpriced, but trx with all options also costs nearly the same. And there is any other offroard truck with 700hp.

The way Ford priced the Raptor R at it's current MSRP is due to all the included options and features. I checked on real cars and found over 200 TRX in the US priced from $80,000 base to $150 000 for a fully loaded version. It's not mentioned, but some pricing may include dealer markups. I believe the Only Raptor R options are sunroof, fold down tailgate ladder and a spray in bed liner. Otherwise it's loaded with all the option goodies. Unlike the TRX. It's not all about the engine. The Raptor R is the overall package designed as a Baja truck using a 5.2 Predator tuned to meet cafe requirements which you were lucky enough to experience feeling it's amazing chassis and suspension settings that even works well on normal highways. Great review that looked like a blast. Love this Truck. Thanks Ford for giving us this amazing truck even though it may be for only a few years. Thanks Joe for putting us in the seat with you. I know you want rear vented seats. It seems that most manufacturers including higher end vehicles use heated only in the rear in similar priced vehicles. Currently front vented seats are being deleted in many vehicles due to the continued chip shortage. I couldn't tell if that was you in the silver truck catching air, but the Raptor R made it look easy. Owning one of these fantastic trucks would have two issues. 1st would be taking it off roading every weekend putting a smile on mine and my families faces like you were wearing while my lawn gets ignored. 2nd would be keeping that beast full of fuel in order to enjoy our off roading weekends. There Maybe a 3rd issue. Accepting traffic light challenges from performance cars. I was amazed finding the limited production Raptor from 2017 through 2021 had a sales average around 25,000 copies per year. Ford created the best overall off roading truck in 2017. Lost the 0-60 war with the TRX while recapturing the title with the new Raptor R.

I've got the 2010 Raptor SVT with the 6.2 V8. Nice thing about Raptors is they don't depreciate like other trucks do. Fun as both a weekend truck, and a daily driver. I get high end, 15 mpg, depending on the tire pressure. Love these trucks, but my heart is my SVT.❤️🔥

@@Tomorrow32 its unlikely someone would get this as their sole daily driver. Whomever can afford 110K for a hobby vehicle it’s fairly safe to say MPG is not top of the list concern. It’s not for everyone for sure.
It's crazy to think when I was a kid the F150 lightning was my favorite along with the Harley Davidson models because of their supercharged V8s. Seeing them do that again with the Raptor brings smile to my face.

65k plus 10k for my new raptor... 110k plus 25k for my next one... not sure about getting my moneys worth... built two 6 cylinders to 600 hp... building this one to over 1000hp which is why im doing it but im not happy that ford says theyll kill the computer like cadi did and also not cool that they said they increased the price to eliminate upcharge by dealer and dealers are still charging over
The exhaust note is incredible. If you have a lot of cash and a need to compensate for your shortcomings ........ this truck is perfect.

For $110,000 I'd expect there to be a HUD. As well as a spray in bed liner. That should be standard, not an option. That's a big zonk! Othwise, your reviews are always spot on. Your reviews are the reason I got my 2022 G70 Launch Edition.
That really doesn't matter. Not only will this truck never see off-roading it will never see any type of work.
Ditto yeah Ford screwed themselves when they price this truck out of reach of normal Americans and I knew they would because Ford is about the profits and cutting costs wherever they can which is why they didn’t put a real engine in this truck as the TRX has several hundred horsepower in reserve for a couple hundred bucks and this POS Kiote is maxed out ridiculous price they should’ve had an entry-level truck at 85 or $90,000 but what is Ford you know will start at 110,000 and by the time with dealer markups you won’t touch this truck for less than 125, wanna bet?
The truck is worth about 65,000. Not worth it at all

All your comments about the esthetics are true. Designer key fob, better steering wheel, better seats, more interior amenities. F150 is Ford's bread and butter. They have devoted an ENTIRE PLANT in MI to build this monster. They need to pull out ALL THE STOPS

Here in SoCal, I see more older Raptors then newer ones by a good margin at the dunes and down in TJ at the baja course. I’m sure that’ll change when prices fall or some other economic delay, but as of now there’s not a lot of newer ones. Mainly to me, they’re drastically overpriced
