I absolutely love the TRD graphics on this Solar Octane, in my opinion that same type of graphics on a White TRD Pro would also look amazing because of the contrast of colours!! I’m impressed
I really like this guy. Gives all the specs in a fun way throws a joke or two, and what’s even more interesting is the amount of twinkies he shows you could store in every car.
Joe, Lori, and Steven are unstoppable when it comes to bringing the highest quality and thorough car reviews and so consistently. Keep it up you three!
Love my 2022 tundra trd pro lunar rock with red interior….and I have it all customized with full lift 22” fuel rebel matte blk and bunch of other goodies
It's definitely a truck that stands out. Considering the cost of these type of trucks like this $71,250 giveaway truck excluding the extra added by Dream Car garage. If I was looking for an aggressive Baja style truck. I would go with the Baja proven and more aggressive looking Gen 3, 450 horsepower Ford Raptor with a base MSRP of $78,570. One thing I noticed. From the rear seat camera angle. The headroom in the TRD pro looked tight possibly due to the hybrid batteries being stored under the rear seat which also eliminates under seat storage. Hybrids normal have improved mpg. It appears not to be the case in the TRD Pro with only a 19 combined mpg. It's amazing how expensive these specialty pickup trucks have become and if you're concerned about gas mileage. The Toyota TRD Pro and F150 Raptor wouldn't be on your list of vehicles to purchase.
Joe, another Zonk that you missed is that there are no front tow hooks on the Tundra. That is a huge negative, especially when you get stuck while off roading.
I'm really digging the new Tundra over the F150 overall from exterior styling to the interior and the graphics add some spice! Thanks Joe and Steven for the review and on throttle action!
Good review as normal. Love that wrap...to bad Toyota couldn't have done something like that stock to make the TRD Pro really stand out. But folks need to stop comparing the new TRD Pro to a Raptor. The the TRD Pro is more in line with a F150 Tremor. Don't believe the MPG numbers for the Tundra...real world MPG (normal everyday driving) is actually about 15-17 mpg. I have a perspective here since i owned a 2022 TRD Pro tundra but traded it in for a 2023 Raptor (best decision ever). The raptor has many more customization driving features (3 setting for the steering, 3 settings for the suspension, and 4 setting for the exhaust), rides like a dream, and sounds a lot better. MPGs with the Raptor for me is about the same at 15-17 mpg. The only knock is that the Raptor takes at least 91 Octane gasoline so it can be expensive to fill that 36 gallon tank. Though the power of each is pretty close and the torque is higher on the tundra, the Raptor feels like a 4x4 race car (I guess that why it's rated for Baja). Oh and the Raptor actually turns where the tundra's turn radius is horrible. Don't get me wrong the new tundra was awesome but I experienced some fit n' finish issues plus the hybrid braking system made this high pitched humming noise when pressing on the brakes at any speed...drove me absolutely nuts (toyota says that noise was normal). Price difference is big too. The MSRP on the tundra I had was $66,500 where the MSRP on my Raptor was around $86K. Worth it to me. Just sharing my experience/opinion. Cheers all!
Yeah, a TRD Pro is ok but the Raptor blows it out of the water overall & especially off-road (more suspension travel, higher RTI scores, way better in fast off-road running etc....). Have you read some of the current generation Tundra reviews from owners over at Edmunds? A lot of pissed off/disappointed people who had nothing but issues. Some even dumped their Tundras at a loss and/or swore to never buy anymore Toyota products & most of them owned previous generations Tundras etc... I guess Toyota quality isn't what it used to be.
that is a damn good looking truck. The new powertrain's reliability needs to be proven, I mean the 5.7 was a million mile engine, but I have no doubt toyota will do what is needed to make it bullet proof
I’m holding off to buy a 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro in White but I wouldn’t shy away from buying this one even though that color is loud but it looks great on it
Jus own my Tundra TRD Pro hybrid crew max for 3 months and love it, but I think Toyota manufacturer needs to include the power step running board or like 2023 Silverado tailgate
Toyota has come a long way since the 90s. I busted my Toyota cherry with a 95 , then a 99 TRD Tacoma extended cab in black that I put $6k into making it an off-road beast and then in 2008 I bought a BFGOODWRICH edition TRD extended cab with the 6 speed. These trucks have been the best I’ve ever had and I’m looking forward to owning the 2024 TRD Pro
I have a 2016 Tocoma and its the best vehicle I have ever owned period. I am planning on buying a new one. Ford , Chevy and GMC will probably never catch up to the Toyota's sales. The Tacoma sales were 3 to 1 even though it had not updated it since 2016. The new one is amazing. And reliability is so much better.
Really is a gorgeous truck and the bed being not steel sided and carbon composite instead is excellent. That wrap you guys put on is awesome and looks super. I do wish (like you mentioned) that the hood had at least one big heat extractor, but that's a sacrifice. The wheel choice here from Vision Wheel (the ones shown here are the Vision Off Road 415 Bomb) is totally perfect. Toyota is awesome as usual. Not sure if it's better than a Raptor but it's still a sweet truck.
No front tow/recovery hooks! What is Toyota thinking?? The Sequoia also has no recovery hooks. I saw one get stuck in the mud and they had to improvise to get it out which didn't come without some damage.
Probably the fact that most half-tons end up being pavement princess, and most of the actual off-roaders are gonna pick the Tacoma. You would think the Off-road and Pro at least came with them. I'm surprised someone took a Sequoia off pavement tbh.
Cool Toyota Tundra TRD Pro I feel like yes, it's not a stock truck but the way DGG did was a good good job. I feel like the team at DGG went over and be of on what they needed to do as far as the modifications go.
