    Heck yeah Mike, I like it a lot. I bought my Tanks, Inc./Holley tank setup for my 67 Firebird a while ago. Seeing your setup has got me wishing I had gotten one of those instead.

      Ha! Thanks! You still have a good set up... and, I don't think these existed "a while ago", to help you feel better. Thanks for tuning in!

    Nicely done, making it work, looks good too, minitubs next i see :) I attached my rollover valve on the a braket mounted to the top diffcover bolt. I did not bother to put a hoseclamp on the tube going into the barb. i checked it earlier this year, and sure enough the vent tube was no longer attached, it was dragging the ground and puking fuel at inapropiate times lol.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha! Yeah, MiniTubs would be awesome. Too funny, not funny, about the floppin around vent tube. I guess I need to consider using hose clamps. LOL. Thanks for sharing your story!

    Next you should get a high and low beam relays, for your headlights to take some current off the headlight switch inside your car. It also makes your lights brighter it’s just a suggestion

    Another good video. My Nova has a rollover valve installed by previous owner, that I thought was a vent. When I have a full tank, it spews gas out all over my chrome diff cover. Now I know I need to shorten the hose because it drops down, then goes up. So hose fills with gas then forces it out, like you said. Thanks for the tip, it helps all of us. I also installed a vented gas cap, so I wonder if I need this valve at all?

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mike. Great question about the vented cap... I have no idea how it would affect your tank. After you fix that hose dip, let us know how that vented versus non-vented cap goes. 😄 Thanks for the comment!

    Great Video I think you should replace your older sending unit for more accurate sensor instead of 2 gallons at a time.but your probably already on it.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ummm, it is brand new. Did I not make that clear? My point about the 2 gallons was there's a delay, which makes perfect sense, you don't want your gauge bouncing around, you want it to react slowly. All is good.

    Hi Mike, thank you for responding to my earlier questions. I am watching your gas tank videos, specifically part 3. Ricks definitely makes a great tank. For the first time I decided to fill my tank, fortunately I used jimmy cans since my car is still not ready for the road. Shortly after I noticed fuel dripping onto the floor. I am having an issue with fuel leaking from the vent line. Your explanation of the do’s and don’ts of mounting this was really helpful. Can you tell me where you got the rollover valve. I might think of that as a check valve but I think that’s exactly what I need.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's why I'm here... ha, ha... That roll over check valve I got from Summit Racing. Which, I never ended up using, as I couldn't find a good spot to mount it vertically. Anyway, as you noticed, keep those vent lines higher than the fill tube. Hope that helps!

    • @davidrosenthal735
      @davidrosenthal735 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So that’s why you didn’t mention it again. So if I recall there are three vent tubes on your tank, did you just stuff the hoses up in the frame ?

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidrosenthal735 Ha! Good point... so, there are FOUR vents in the rear. The two that are the same size, where there's one of each on each corner of the tank... I want to say 1/4" diameter? I connected those two together, but looped up and over the differential. Those two are side to side motion vents, so it's cool to attach them together. That leaves the 5/16" and 1/2" vent, on the passenger side. I plumbed those up between the frame and body, exposed to environment, as high as I could get them. Hope that helps! (Ohh, those two are the front to rear vents, the big one being when you brake, air would push out of that one)

  • @dougmarthaler3066
    @dougmarthaler3066 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you add the rollover valve to the other 2 vents also…?

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question Doug. There are several ways to vent it... I elected to not use the roll over valve, purely because I couldn't find a good spot to mount it. The two left and right vents, I vented together. Where the front/rear are vented to atmosphere above the frame/axle. I'm not 100% confident in the large vent, because under heavy braking, fuel comes out. I will be doing an add on video to this subject soon. Let us know what you end up doing.

    What's does this car run in the 1/4 mile ?

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea... :) Based on similar builds, I'd say 11's. I'd much prefer killing cones on an autocross track, versus drag racing. But, you never know. Thanks for the comment!
