I LOVE Choplifter. Bought the Sega Master System over NES because of it. But, is HD really an arcade port if the original was on Apple IIe 5 years before? And also C-64 and various other computers before the arcade game.
Interesting look. I do wonder how long it will be till OG Xbox backwards compatibility goes down as it's internet based. Hmmmmmm. I hope not. But yeah licenses, the date and if still up or a typo/real or not and it is May so it's soon if it was real. And the backend differences in store code and of course Xbox One/Series exist with certain ones that are compatible while others obviously are not and 360 stuck likely. That and the 360 date and time only goes to 2025 too which is interesting as other consoles go up to at least 2099/2100 I think. Only experienced offline ones on physical like the Live Arcade disk with ones like Pacman Championship Edition the original and a few others like Boom Boom Rocket, Zuma and such. Not these remasters. Never looked into Xbox store much at least not for Live Arcade games as much. At least some of these are physical. Outrun 2 Online looked like the original or SP version with its UI and I assume content then 2006 Coast to Coast so either of those 3 versions are physical and accessible (besides that well Online was on PS3/360 then the older ones being for sixth gen PS2/Xbox and PSP depending) besides the Online part I assume I don't know enough about the difference between Online and the other versions but I assume they are close enough.
Visually speaking, Turtles in Time Reshelled is fine. It’s the gameplay that ruins it. Even putting aside the lack of SNES moves and the generic ass soundtrack, the turtles can move in three dimensions while enemies cannot. It completely ruins the difficulty balancing and makes the game way too east. Just do diagonal attacks and you’ll never get hit.
I also thought that was weird. When looking into the game I found multiple instances of the "m" referred to as "miles" instead of meters. I just went with that, but I guess it's wrong.
That's a great idea, I would if Rayman wasn't coming out this month lol. I've also promised an Atari Lynx console library this year so that'll take some time too. It will happen though, I've got a few XBL videos left.
Something messed up in processing a day after I published it, at which point I didn't think it was worth reposting again. I'll archive it at some point.
After Burner Climax isn't a remake but a port, it was showcased in my last XBLA video. I didn't know Bionic Commando was first an arcade game, so my mistake with that one.
I played that! It was going to be in this video but it's so unrelated to the original that I felt it'd be out of place. I might talk about it in a future video.
I still remember back in the 2010s when Microsoft was willing to archive as many of their classics as possible via. backwards compatibility. It was exciting times. But then they stopped and are now delisting those games, which feels like genuine back pedalling. Makes me wonder how did it all go wrong all of a sudden?
Funny, Humble Bundle just sold a steam keys bundle that included that $15 Stryder game with a handful of other Capcom titles for $1. Console stores really are a rip-off when compared to Steam.
Strider is a licensed IP from Capcom. They don't own him as a franchise of their own so $15 makes sense. As for TMNT Re-Shelled. When you have the 4Players Its very easy to lose your character. They added a way to find your character when they're all bunched up but it you need to tap the button each time. Music is different, voice cast is of the 2003 series and the gameplay doesn't feel as good as the snes. At some point get the Cowabunga collection and see for yourself on what I mean.
Okay, so when you said Microsoft was shutting down the Xbox 360 marketplace, that just means you won't be able to buy games for that system, right? The games that are backward compatible with the Xbox One and Series will still be available to purchase on those formats, or no...?
Not necessarily....I have a series X and back in I believe 2012 they were still using MS points for purchases. SO when they migrated over to the Xbone, something happened and EVERYTHING purchased with MS points is no longer available to people even IF they purchased it. MS customer support also will flat out tell you that you no longer have access to games or DLC you purchased with MS points, so MS knows its a problem and doesn't actually care....The TMNT arcade XBLA game is BC, but you cannot purchase it, but IF you purchased it with MS points you no longer own it.
People were also upset that Re-Shelled ditched the original OST (presumably for legal reasons) and used the voice cast of the 2003 TMNT show instead of anyone from the original '87 series (which I can only guess was a cost-cutting measure, seeing as how 4Kids were non-union).

I LOVE Choplifter. Bought the Sega Master System over NES because of it. But, is HD really an arcade port if the original was on Apple IIe 5 years before? And also C-64 and various other computers before the arcade game.
Hey uh, where did your Duke Nukem 3D Mega Drive video go? It was there at one point, but it isn't anymore
I'm not too into arcade style games but Frogger looked fun enough.
It is 2023 and Frame Rates is making me consider buying Trigger on a seventh gen console
What happened to Shantae :c
Covering the ports like Rayman 3 HD would be interesting. Or I think the N+ port among others.
A lot of interesting stuff to cover for sure on here.
I think everything about the game is atrocious including the graphics. It was just a low effort cash grab to bank on nostalgia.
Gah I miss that Outrun game
8:09 "100 miles" huh
If one block is a mile Mr Driller is 1 mile tall lol.
I also thought that was weird. When looking into the game I found multiple instances of the "m" referred to as "miles" instead of meters. I just went with that, but I guess it's wrong.
Loving the 360 content lately! keep it coming please!
How was I not aware of the delisting announcement, now I missed out on Daytona USA ;-;
It’s still on PS3, god bless you Sony.
Question - if you have a modded 360, do you get to keep the achievements you earn even on delisted games on aurora?
Yes, I've never connected my real account on this console though. I think a modded 360 is easy to detect so it'd probably get banned quickly.
Thx for the info
Thanks for the video..
Big enjoyer of your channel.
Now that it's confirmed the 360 store us going away, I'd love to see an even deeper dive on the digital library still available for the time being.
That's a great idea, I would if Rayman wasn't coming out this month lol. I've also promised an Atari Lynx console library this year so that'll take some time too. It will happen though, I've got a few XBL videos left.
FUCKING LOVE HYDRO THUNDER HURRICANE! PSYCLONE WHIPLASH AND THRESHER DX BELOVED!
Strider is in a humble bundle right now, if anyone's interested
Can we still get these at all? Xbox one x or series s/x?
Well at least the 2 games in the final fight double impact are in the modern Capcom collections.
Loved Pac Man Ce especially
What happened to Duke Nukem 3D Genesis video?
Something messed up in processing a day after I published it, at which point I didn't think it was worth reposting again. I'll archive it at some point.
man will play every game for the 3d0 before he touches Re Shelled for SNES
You forgot to include After Burner: Climax and Bionic Commando: Rearmed.
After Burner Climax isn't a remake but a port, it was showcased in my last XBLA video. I didn't know Bionic Commando was first an arcade game, so my mistake with that one.
The anme girl remake of Yars' Revenge is one of the weirdest examples of this kind of game to me.
I played that! It was going to be in this video but it's so unrelated to the original that I felt it'd be out of place. I might talk about it in a future video.
Do you plan on doing a video on XBLA indies
Eventually I don't see why not, just gotta get them to work first. By default there's some error when I try to launch them.
@FrameRater which xbox 360 model is yours
10:56 jesus that scared me lmao
I still remember back in the 2010s when Microsoft was willing to archive as many of their classics as possible via. backwards compatibility. It was exciting times. But then they stopped and are now delisting those games, which feels like genuine back pedalling. Makes me wonder how did it all go wrong all of a sudden?
Strider isnt really an arcade remake. Its just a new Strider game. Its even got Metroidvania backtracking.
Video includes remakes, evolutions and sequels.
Funny, Humble Bundle just sold a steam keys bundle that included that $15 Stryder game with a handful of other Capcom titles for $1. Console stores really are a rip-off when compared to Steam.
Microsoft's also been throttling the speeds of the store. using a slim on wifi to access the store is HELL it's so slow
Remember guys, as long as you can mod your 360 and the internet exists, no game ever dies!
Pac-Man CEDX+ is the greatest arcade game of all time.
Bro what was Gamespot smoking Dark Messiah of Might and Magic rocks
yo, that outrun game is on psp
I've never played TMNT Reshelled despite critiquing it over the years.
Outrun online arcade is just outrun 2 and 2006
Ahh classic frogger.
Okay, so when you said Microsoft was shutting down the Xbox 360 marketplace, that just means you won't be able to buy games for that system, right? The games that are backward compatible with the Xbox One and Series will still be available to purchase on those formats, or no...?
They later said this was the case, we'll have to wait and see what happens.
I'm glad Xenia emulator is a thing so I could play my xbox game but yet exclusive title DLC for Saints Rows 2.
Does the emulator run decently ?
If I buy these on my 360 could I play them on a new Xbox?
Yes, so long as they're backwards compatible titles.
@@FrameRater great thank you
Man, I know 3D was a pretty big deal for a while, but what on Earth did they do to Bubble Bobble 😂
Who just idles a 360?
Like, how long is it idle?
If I need to go to the corner store quick or something, so maybe 10 - 20 minutes.
OutRun Online Arcade isn't a remake, it's a reduced port of OuRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast.
