Not sure how many are still available, or how well they've been preserved by the community, but please check them out if you get a chance, might even be worth making a whole video about those.
I believe if you've already played/downloaded a free game in the past, it stays in your Xbox library for good. Without being signed in I checked the store, and it says "not available separately" when you try to install it.

Hang on a second. I thought it was just the MARKETPLACE shutting down. That is to say, any game that has a page on the modern xbox storefront (including a large amount of games on this list), will still be fully available to buy. The only games we need to worry about are those WITHOUT a modern storefront page. Am I wrong? Are they literally removing all 360 games?
Guess I should've worded that intro better, only non-bc games will be gone. Some examples from this list are Fez, Boogie Bunnies and Yars Revenge. This video is more of a sequel to the other three than a standalone video about XBLA games to buy. I might do a video more akin to that in the future.
Seeing this is kind of heart breaking, but also not something I'm impressed with, the 360 almost feels completely replaced by anybody but a true small niche market that requires the console for something so specific (I'm one of those, Senko no Ronde hasn't seen ports anywhere else...). I got way late to the party due to my economic situation, back in 2015, when the console was already doing the last breaths of console releases, I already had issues with delisted games back then (Trouble Witches stood the most on my head during that time...), and even saw the delist case of games and demos like Soul Calibur IV, but regardless the console made probably some of my happiest hours during some genuinely hard times, the voice chat was super nice and felt like a prototype discord to a certain extent. I already have a couple consoles, 1 of them is modded, the other is not, I might buy some stuff for the sake of support, but I'm of course going to add the mod later on. This was both nostalgic, and a nice selection of things I didn't know about, thanks for this! Some of my favorite XBLA titles are mostly arcade ports, some of them are already somewhere else like Radiant Silvergun, but others like the Virtual-On series remain best on Xbox for having stuff like LAN play, making offline tournaments much easier for me.
People loved FEZ but then the developer Phil Fish went off the deep end and made fun of gamers and just absolutely shattered any sort of reverence people had for what his game did. That, and him cancelling FEZ 2 and immediately disbanding/firing every single person working on it with him just because he didn't like gamers anymore. Kind of a nasty guy.
@@FrameRater The story is much more complicated than that but he really did have a giant breakdown and spent months just screaming at people and making fun of them on twitter before nuking every trace of himself that he could from the internet and then dropping off the face of the earth. XBLA really brings me back
Hang on a second.
I was recently looking for this type of list
You can buy Sonic 06 and Blue dragon, wrath of cortex. Bunch of good games.
Sonic 06 is not good, at all.
I think Geometry wars got a physical release at least
I picked up Guardian Heroes again
Damn shame they delisted Left 4 Dead and The Orange Box
Is Phantom Dust on XBLA?
I miss planets vs zombies 😢
space invaders extreme is the best game that uses lightsynth
Oh man, I didn't know that. What a disappointment.
@@FrameRater The story is much more complicated than that but he really did have a giant breakdown and spent months just screaming at people and making fun of them on twitter before nuking every trace of himself that he could from the internet and then dropping off the face of the earth. He treated a lot of people like crap, burned a lot of bridges, and nuked a lot of good will. It's worth checking out some videos about him to see just how bad it got.
The developer turning out to be an asshole didn't make me stop loving FEZ, it just made me stop recommending it to people.
100% the reason why FEZ never became backwards compatible on newer Xbox consoles.
Why not focus on exclusives?
This is part four of a showcase series, could show exclusives another day.
Not enough for disc releases. I miss the Yaris game lol
Poor guy gets crushed by his bike then plummets to his death.😢
Wonderful video Frame! :)
Call of Duty 1 is a must buy if you dont play on pc
Im sad ill never be able to play Shank again
I just hope that they'll make one final patch that lets you play the games from the long gone Indi store offline. I've collected a decent amount of games over the years, trying to find the Diamonds in the rough, pretty much anything that wasn't borderline hentai or a Minecraft ripoff. I have plenty of good and weird games on my 360 and I would hate to have to mod it just to be able to play them
XBLIG? I loved that platform.
No plans to make them purchasable going forward :/
@@DaveVoyles I have an idea, What about trying to convince Microsoft to bring back that platform and several delisted games for one last time, for a limited time? I really see no big harm on doing this, I always read about Microsoft taking "game preservation" seriously, so why not do this for now?
Regardless of everything, thank you so much for everything you've done, you're a legend.
@@SantiagoMonroy5 the difficult part there is the licensing agreements for many of these products.
On to of that, the ingestion portal, Partner Center, does have support for that product type, and because of how the platform was designed, it’s a huge undertaking to add a new product :/. That means months, if not a year of work unfortunately
I'm really hoping they'll do a massive sale just before they close shop
you forgot zombie estate
Geometry wars is my favorite game that pisses me off every time I play it.
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is way better that Far Cry 3
Digital distribution is the future they said
I like how delisted games were showcased, they deserver it while being delisted so no one can even get them
Something tells me in a year or so PlayStation will be next with the 3 and Vita. But this time they’ll go through with it.
