    Thanks to everyone that has taken their time to watch the video, I'm always glad to try to provide useful information and I hope that this helped you somehow. I'm still using the notebook (I still haven't returned Grazi's memory though). I'll be visiting the US again in March 2023 and maybe I'll go out shopping for something else, maybe something with a dedicated graphics chip. I do hope to get better frame rates when I'm travelling with the laptop, because I end up wanting to play games with it when it's late at night and I'm alone in my hotel room. Anyway, if you enjoyed this and feel like you might want to watch more videos from me, go ahead and sub, that will help the channel grow. Here are a few other videos for you to watch while I'm making a new one.
    A review of Current Indy Games, but in a retro style, using the Acer Nitro

    17" Acer Nitro Review, i5 9th gen, GF 1650

    Sony All-in-one PC from the early 2000s

    Last but not least a review of a 128 bit Radeon 9250 (it's pretty good)

    Thanks again, and I'll see you on the next one.

      That's a big one! 😆 I'm working on doscember, after that I'll try a proper video for the AGP voodoo 4 I recently picked up. Using all of them will take some time. There are builds I want to do for certain cards still. But I'll keep that in mind, to have a big voodoo special. 👍

    I love laptops like this
    since I don't really use them for gaming but rather for work and such
    if I wanna game I use my main gaming PC, Retro PC, Nintendo DS Lite, PS Vita or PS2.

    • @SUCRA
      @SUCRA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's mostly what I do. Sometimes I miss a laptop that's powerful when I'm travelling and I didn't take any other portables. But it's so rare, it's hardly worth it to spend more for a proper gaming laptop. Also, they're big and heavy.

      Ele não tem VRAM, como usa uma APU ele requisita a quantidade de memória que precisa, da principal mesmo.

    Love the MTV shirt lol. I agree with your preffered specs, although it a lot of laptops seem to be going to soldered ram which is a pain in the ass. Not glad about it

    What a coincidence. I just bought used (in mint condition) HP Elitebook G5 745 with Ryzen 2700U with intention to use it as as "portable gaming laptop on cheap". From my own experience I can tell you that what kills performance in these laptops in first place is stupidly low power limits set by HP, single stick of ram that HP love to put in their products (to save money), very small heatsink and of course as result of that temperatures.
    Laptop offered me around 25-30 FPS in games which I play, which was of course not enough. Tbh I was actually very disappointed with it's performance.
    What I did with it?
    1. Fresh thermal paste
    2. 2mm thermal pad directly on to CPU heatpipe and directly above CPU, so it transfers some of the heat to aluminium bottom cover
    3. Second stick of ram for total of 32GB in dual channel
    4. Dremel out nice looking holes in bottom cover directly under CPU fan (big enough to suck a lot of fresh air / small enough so I don't stick my fingers in to CPU fan by accident)
    5. Used program called Ryzen Controller and set CPU TDP limits to 22W as normal mode and 25W for short and long boost
    6. Set also in Ryzen Controller GPU minimum clock to 750MHz and max 1GHz (It wont boost higher due to TDP limits anyway)
    Results?
    From 40 to 60 fps in games. Temps in to high 60's for CPU and for GPU in to high 50's. I strongly recommend to you also test 1600x900 resolution, which on such small screen will make no difference in quality but will boost your FPS by a quite considerable margin. It is possible to turn Ryzen laptop in to gaming laptop on cheap, but it requires some tinkering and ingenuity ;).

    • @SUCRA
      @SUCRA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, nice! Good tip with the power levels tinkering, I'll see if it's available for mine. If it is I'll see about temperature and the cooling mods. I'd love to see fallout 4 at 40-50 fps. Have a great weekend! 👍

    I should also say the performance on pubg was pretty impressive. Who knows if bot games affected it, but that game is known to run like crap on 8 gig of ram so nicely done

      Hah, yeah, I did upgrade the RAM to 16Mbs though, stole it from Grazi:s Acer Nitro. She just watched the video and yelled at me 😂
