My grandfather had a jaguar, he grew up poor as dirt with no money but he worked really hard and bought a factory in south Wales (were we live) and he achieved his dream since he was a child and bought a jaguar and a nice house, he was lovely, thank you this reminded me of him

The rear window is actually hydrophobic so water falls off it when the wind flows through the aerodynamic spoiler

Jaguar is European, British to be exact. Jaguar is a division of the british car company Jaguar-Land Rover, and ultimately the parent company is Tata Motors which is an indian company. Jaguar is wholly European in terms of design, making, marketing, etc.

The 360 degree camera is not set up correctly in your review unit. You can set it up to show more view in the settings.

I was a passenger in one of these yesterday and omfg its quick, didn't matter what speed we were going everytime it was floored i was pinned. And the interior is special, the one i was in had cream everything. Dream car now 😍

In the first 10 seconds of this video, Mat went pure MAD.
Don't know why some people think the i-pace is ugly, I'm a petrol head and it's a stunning car. A proper Jag yet modernised with the smaller more sloping bonnet for greater aerodynamics, which they can do as there's no combustion engine. Normal family cars have been boring for years but EV's have brought about not just technological advances but made cars interesting again!
Anyone criticising the EV revolution just doesn't like change, don't worry change will happen with or without you, the planet is at stake! In 20-30 years petrol cars will be the minority. Check out channels like Fully Charged, there's some fantastic work going on in the EV industry.
Jonathan Muir it has a design that will split opinions. For a crossover it looks okay. I have seen it. But never in my life that I would prefer this over the XJ or F-type
@jonathan muir - I agree with you completely. I am also a PH, own a Golf R and an Ioniq. For routine trips I prefer the EV.
@@numbereightyseven just to be clear - I love driving the R at the track and on twisty roads. Its a great car - fast comfortable and quite economical. But these are special occasions. For everyday use, work, shopping, ferrying children an EV is a much better choice. Its silent and quick off the line (instant torque). Factor in the absence of pollution, low maintenance and zero fuel cost (we charge ours from solar) and its a no-brainer. The current generation of EVs are going to change the market

Loved the shape of this car first time I saw it. Doesn't even matter about it the drive train, I'd still get one-- a high recommendation from a dyed in the wool diesel fan.
It's shaped like a shoe :D I like the climate controls.

I was given one as a courtesy car while my Discovery, which I love, was having a service. I adored the I- Pace. The seats, handling, acceleration and styling are all outstanding. Strangers came up and told me how much they liked the styling and colour and asked how it performed. I have missed it ever since.

I like the shape, front and rear. Fresh, stylish and well executed.
The car doesn't need a rear wiper as the body of the car is designed as such air flow through that rear glass and clean it. Thats what I have heard from other reviewers.
Especially when it was parked while it was raining and you need to reverse out. Jaguar, coming up with brilliant ideas since forever.
The intro really scared me haha
Slight correction: The reason no rear windshield wipers are there is because the aerodynamics of the car will push the rain down away from the rear window, removing the need for wipers.

Matt, I've engineered that rear seat cushion and storage (yeah I know it's not the best but you have the fuse box there too, camera modules, master kill switch for the batteries, huge gauge cables etc.) It can hold 2 iPads each side or a Full Size Jaguar Umbrella across - Rolls Royce beware !! 😁😁
Another thing I wanted to point out that the rear roof spoiler is designed to represent cat (jaguar) ears which is kinda cute 🐱
A bit of feedback…though the cat ears are cute, I don’t want to pay extra for “cute” especially when it comes to cats where their primary function is to transport. I prefer function over look any day and would much rather save the money if it means using less materials and labor. This is where the Tesla wins. Fewer buttons and extra stuff that just ultimately adds more work for the driver. Unfortunately, the cost is higher.

It doesn't have a rear wiper for the same reason most sedans don't. The wind will keep most of the water off. Hatchbacks and SUVs usually have rear wipers because the low pressure air behind the car pulls small droplets of water (and dirt) towards the car, and on a vertical rear surface there's no airflow to carry that away. To see an exaggerated effect of this, watch rally cars on a dirt track.
I almost vomitted and threw my iPad out the window simultaneously with that intro! NEVER again Matt please!

If JLR/Tata did a deal with Tesla for using the Supercharger network, this might actually be a winner for Jag. However, our current crop of 50Kw "fast" chargers is probably sufficient if you're careful in planning journeys and have a 7Kw charger at home. I've seen a few of the pre-production cars and one production car at the recent Fully Charged Live event at Silverstone and it is actually a very smart looking car in the metal. Kudos to JLR for being the first of the mainstream to release a full EV.

I've driven a few electric cars on a track in Austria (Wachauring near Melk, Lower Austria) at an event, and these cars are fun. I wasn't allowed to drive the Tesla Model S P100D myself, but holy sh*t this thing is brutal! But I tried a few other electric cars (and hybrid cars), and the most fun was actually an electric version of the Smart fortwo, followed by the VW e-up! But electric cars are either not fully developed or not perfect enough yet, or (speaking of Tesla) way too expensive. That's why I'm still driving around in a 20 year old Audi A6 (great car though)

And still. Many cars have designed the rear, so you can't see the wiper, so why not make it a hidden wiper instead of completely removing it? haha
Cost!.....yep even on a £63K car will JLR want every profitable penny they can get their hands on!....I would also question the oversight of no sun blind on a panoramic sunroof, and as for storage what is hiding under all that hard plastic under the bonnet?....storage just about big enough for your sandwich box!

Shame this test hasn't been updated from 2019 as latest models have better brakes and less tyre noise. It's also a short test without a 0-60mph check etc. I still believe no other electric cars comes close to the I Pace ( and I have tried most of them) for driving fun and handling but its a shame that it no longer gets near the top ten in Car Wow when it's far better to drive than anything in the top ten (barring a Taycan which costs a small fortune.)

Cleaver regenerative when feet off from the gas paddle then starts little resistance of regenerative then when touching breaks increases regeneration then go for break engagement that will save break pads lifespan.

Kinda have to agree, people are obsessed with elevation these days! A typical estate will easily offer just as much space and safety. I have a Discovery simply because I do a lot of towing, and lugging large items around and will probably upgrade to an xc90 next year. I even have to do an occasional small bit of off roading. I actually use a 4x4!

Only downside I read and hear is a lack of charging stations, up to 8hrs charge if this is correct, til more charging stations became available, even at your place of work, to charge whilst working, as person's living in flats, on road parking with no option to charge from a charger fitted to their home's is a issue to resolve to the future of electric or (your local city jag dealership would collect your ev from your home, to take it to the dealership with a charge station at their dealership, for you.. to charge it for 8hrs, and then return it to you once charged up or a courtesy car whilst yours charge) with a focus on a build of lower charging time's, also, but I love it, and the best styling of a electric car, I've seen at present
A few of the flaws he mentioned actually arent accurate… The charging wires fit in the front storage and in the boot, the piece he lifted up actually lifts all the way off and theres another pull out piece which then gives another huge storage space. And the back window doesn’t require a wiper as its hydrophobic, much like the BMW.
