    I live by the saying "the less you give a shit, the happier you'll be" I suffered with social anxiety, it was debilitating, for years I was constantly worrying about how I was perceived, my breakthrough was realising I'm not that important, certainly not to strangers so why was I worrying about what they thought!? This realisation released me from anxiety altogether and I'm so much happier, less stressed and hopefully its gone forever!!

    • @envivo1138
      @envivo1138 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Wouldn't it make you feel even worse? I mean, if your realization is that you're just any other ant in the sand. Wouldn't it feel like you're just worthless? To me, it's like everything in life. What's liberating can also be deteriorating.

      @@envivo1138 No, certainly not for me, letting go of your ego that you're something special is so freeing! My anxiety was caused by me wanting to give other people the impression I wasn't anxious, which caused more anxiety, as soon as I realised I shouldn't care about how others see me my anxiety evaporated, I hardly left the house coz it was easier than put myself through the torture of going out, I'm free from this now and the results speak for themselves

    • @localpoliceman
      @localpoliceman 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      ''my breakthrough was realising I'm not that important'' I already know this, but that does not decrease my anxiety one bit. The only way for me to overcome it, is by taking action. Which comes down to confronting all of my fears. It sucks. I know it's all in my head, but the emotion/feeling just takes over.

    • @jeffknott1975
      @jeffknott1975 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@localpoliceman there's no real set way mate everyone is different and respond to different techniques very differently, it also depends on the type of anxiety, mine was constantly worrying about not looking anxious, trying to hide how I felt from everyone else, this fakeness made it 1000x worse, I wouldn't go out for weeks at a time coz it's was such an ordeal each time, then someone said to me one day "why do you care if you look anxious" I realised caring about anxiety caused my anxiety as mad as that sounds. But I feel for you man, I hope you figure it out it's mental torture living with it I don't think most people realise how debilitating it can be...Good luck to you pal 🫡

    When the pandemic hit and we had to mask to go into stores, I put on a black morph suit and went into a bunch of stores with it on. You couldn't see a single inch of me and I was totally anonymous. I felt so incredibly free because no one would ever know who I was. I skipped around the grocery store, danced down the aisles, got a bunch of selfies with people, and even got hit on my both men and women. It was the highlight of all that darkness for me.

    Ive actually tested these thoughts that pop up inside my head about what others think of me and realized that they are compeltely inaccurate.
    I tried apologizing to this girl my mind was racing with how negatively she would react but to my surprise she took it so well and even told me to relax and take it easy.
    At that point i realized that all this prediction is simply not accurate and reliable and most of it will never happen.
    I also realized that these thoughts are a mere reflection of my own thoughts about myself and i can not possibly read minds.

Stop letting go of that "the one" concept and you will we be more chilled on the spot. Cause there is probably 345345 "tho ones" out there for you. every time i'm in public i keep telling myself nobody cares about me. what i do, who i am. i don't care about them, why would it be different the other way around? i keep telling myself that because it's not what i feel inside. what i feel is that people judge me. i have to talk myself out of that. but i think i'm making good progress.
    i learned that in school. i learned people always judge me. the things i do seem weird to others. they look at me weird. they talk about me behind my back. i learned to distrust everyone and i stopped talking to anyone. it broke me. deeply. it took me literal decades to crawl back out of that headspace. and yes, distrust is very much a sign of insecurity. if you think you can't talk freely to someone because they'll say something mean, that's literally you not trusting yourself to seem normal to others. or not being able to handle a mean comment.

    To me it's not so much that people won't like you... it's that people are resorting to violence, commenting vile things and attacking you when they don't like you. That is more the problem for me. I can easily move away from a video or a person I don't like, they won't ever even know but most people can't do that. That is what bothers me.

  • @itgirl959

    Hey Julien, I’ve always observed it and as a Musician I’m sure you’ll understand this: when people sing a Song to you, even voluntarily, they always sing it off. A specific amount of off. You can just tell that it’s purposely off if you listen closely. It’s a way of hiding. Ive Shared This Observation with so many people and no one agrees with me, they Always Argue that people just can’t sing in tune. Which might be true, but this specific amount of offness is unnatural. Even kids do this, and you can tell when they are still trying to be in tune, and suddenly they are also singing off on purpose.
    Another observation I made is that the same effect does not occur with whistling. Maybe some people whistle off pitch but no one tries to whistle slightly off. And why? I strongly believe that it’s because whistling is not as much of an individual sound. There’s not so much you personally to be heard in the pure sound of a whistle. In the quality and musical interpretation maybe, but not in the sound itself. You could hardly recognise your friends by them all whistling the same note. Very different from the voice…

    U should do this more often, ask people to scream loud, then put a shirt in front of their faces and make them scream again.

    Sry Julien, but my problem is that I do not give a F, no matter who it is, and it gets me in trouble sometimes... especially when I start yelling at cops and public employees.

      @@JulienHimself My step dad beat the empathy out of me, I revert to being empathic and self regulated when I break contact with him more than 2 years from what I have seen. From what I know it's CPTSD caused by narcissistic abuse from my dad, that caused me psychological trauma. That's life I guess.
