@@obi-wankenobi1419 You can’t solve you’re emotional problems analytically, you solve/heal them by feeling. Also you need to use different introspection techniques to become aware of deep rooted stuff. And also taking your time with releasing and extending the meditations not just rushing through them. This is just a couple but I’ve been following Julien since 2020 and simply knew what he was talking about, but now I’ve actually experienced it. You can’t do this alone I suggest you join his mentoring as you’ll be guided and mentored and make sure you’re applying his teachings correctly:)

I feel this was a particularly insightful video, because (caution: approval) you did a good job answereing back and sharing your view and understanding.
Particularly around 6:00 and 15:00, and at the same time you didn't shy away from saying "i don't feel right now, i freeze".
I could sense, when he asked you why you were "scared by him", that might have been so, because he is a guy who worked so much on himself and on letting go and to him it seems so easy, yet its not that easy for you especially on stage.
Maybe one feels bad for not having achieved the same things yet, somehow feeling bad about feeling bad and not just being able to work through it on the spot.
I have a friend of mine, like my uncle i never had somehow, who is quite a mindset and coping mentor to me, but i sometimes struggle not to feel bad and judged about me struggeling and not being able to incoorporate the advice and just be like him.
But in the end its just hard and honest work we have in front of us, and results come up in the process.
The obligatory screaming part was especially great to see, as i could really feel the toughness of the situation and that he pushed you.
You were nearly fed up and thinking "duh, obviously just let go.. if it was that easy dude, tell me something new".
But i think that was quite the necessary level of inner anger or frustration to answer to the question "why am i really not able to scream?" and push through and be yourself.
This was really, as i said, helpful to watch.
      Sorry for rambling.

I always felt that this issue goes deeper than simply being ego driven. We have this primal survival instinct that creates a need to be accepted and to feel that we are part of a community. That's why being rejected sometimes creates a feeling of dread, as if we are in danger of dying.
"The bird sleeps peacefully not because it trust the branch, but because it trusts it's ability to fly!" - this works for me, by cultivating competence and gathering as much experience as possible creates a basis in reality for confidence to take root, and that confidence that I can survive on my own is what helps me not care about what other people think/say. The problem is that I never feel safe enough: economically, emotionally, or physically.

What helped me get to this point was self love. Being there for myself, understanding and having compassion for myself, makes it easier not to rely on others for emotional regulation. I enjoy when people like me, I observe the feelings of fear when they dont, but there is a stillness of security within myself underneath those waves on the surface. I think thats what Julien is pointing at in this exercise

I love the message and what it's about. Though, there was once a study from japan where an experiment was held with waterplants being cursed at regularly or saying beloved things regularly. The plants which were being cursed at began to die and to rot and the other ones were getting stronger. I do believe there is power in words and frequencies they convey - but at the same time you still decide what has power over you.

Things do change when they're observed, and it also depends on the intention behind the observation. Check out the double slit experiment. Julien's message is very helpful, although I agree that outside influence DOES change you initially (booing evokes shame, natural human survival strategy)... But having a secure sense of self acts as an anchor through those feelings of elation or fear.

I came back to this video four times and I cannot hold back longer, I have to write it out...
First of all, I have to get this out of the picture: I cannot be more creeped out by myself how incredibly beautiful I find her. Although, it doesnt matter. I also LOVE her hair, but that doesnt matter either.
She seems to be exceptionally clever. I am not an expert by any means, but the way she handles herself, her thoughts, makes me think of her as a science major of some sort.
Either way, I really hope, she finds what she is looking for and never logic her life into anything harmful. I hope she is at least as OK as she states, but I have a bad feeling, but I might be just self-reflecting.
Logic is a great tool, but you have to be in peace with, and be kind to yourself too.

I remember this one time when I was trying to teach the class how to do a kia, and I was very surprised by how few were willing to do it. Then I remembered how I first learned how to kia and how ridiculous it made me feel. However, after a while of shouting like that, I've let go of that embarrassment. When she was talking about her hairstyle.. it remind me something that i saw, a lot of times in the last years. I saw a lot of young woman that are working on their hairs, makeup, style, thinking that being too girly means be weak, being a tomboy means be strong. The problem is that you take a normal feature and you convert it in a big part of your charachter, of your identity. It's hard for young girls, in this chaos, to find their identity. We are a decadent society, we are losing our identity. I don't think this girl have some big problem to solve, i just think that she's trying to find her normal state of mind using their resources and tools. She can do it but she just needs some other tools, not a big deal. She will be okay.
It's just my opinion. But i hope that some people will lose this habit to take a detail of their charachter and use it to identify is something (victim, a weak, etc) because you are accidentally hiding yourself behind this identity, and we love you for who you are, we want to see you.

He's missing something. I'm not sure exactly how to put it, but others' approval does matter to some degree. It matters less today, with our hugely interconnected yet largely anonymous society, but for most of human history, survival has depended to a large degree on the approval of our peers. Loss of approval still means loss of opportunities today. He has a point, but he's completely dismissing a whole counterpoint that's actually legitimate and important that I would like to hear him address.

Yeh there's some good stuff in these vids but the overall message is too simplistic. The whole 'just be yourself' thing sounds great, but applying that ethos every second of every day would mean being completely honest in everything you say and do at all times, risking the very likely scenario of ending up ostracised from even previously close friends and family, as you suddenly went from maintaining a level of sincerity while being protective of their feelings to the kind of outright bluntness that i'm afraid very few people, if any, can handle, even if they claim otherwise. Ideally we could all go around saying exactly what we think but we simply aren't wired that way by nature - it's as natural as sex, eating food etc. As i say, there are some worthwhile pointers in amongst all this, but life's too complex to have solutions to all problems, and there's also a reason these sorts of self-help seminars have been satirised so often...can't help thinking of the simpsons episode 'barts inner child'. Despite the humour, it pretty much nails what would happen in society if we all just started to 'do what we feel like' lol.

hey the actual person in the video here! The thing is what I've realized that if you dress and express the way you feel most like yourself it'll work like a magnet. Attracting the people that fit with you and repel the people who do not fit with you. It makes making friends all the more easier.

Let’s cut the bullshit we all like approval more than disapproval we like it so much we can boost our self confidence alone or seek it from others but it’s a necessity in order to feel good and feel less like shit. He also talks about identity and habits when he mentions why we try to look different from others because we want to express our freedom and the screaming exercise the girl does is linked to trauma because maybe she’s very introvert and is not use to center attention or maybe how her parents raised her to be very quiet and refrain from yelling. Personally I don’t like disappointing people only when made an oath not out of fear we just need to decide where we can fit in society to feel good enough to serve some beneficial way

I wonder whether i radicalize your teachings, maybe I'm taking them too far or i simply misunderstood your teachings from the start, why do i need to confirm whether I'm doing good or not why don't i take my word for things? Do i perhaps dont trust myself, in letting go what should i do, am i thinking too much? i wonder whether i need to realize that i think too hard or i don't think hard enough ? Do i need to realize anything? A world where i have to take the word of others not my own that is a world i have chose to live in but can i choose to live in one where i know my word is enough ,there it is again the word enough i seem to somehow always come to this am i doing enough am i good enough , why do i even have to make you a question im getting angry just thinking about it, why do you believe you are not enough why do you believe there's always something wrong with you, always something to fix can you imagine such a world were you are good enough and this can never be questioned you simply are by the mere fact that you exist, a world were there's nothing to fix because theres nothing wrong with you

Julien bro, HOW, do you not care about how everything affects you? Like you say, wear clothes that will trigger you, and then learn to LET GO of that, so it doesn’t affect yourself.
How do you, “Let go”, of something that matters? Like, I don’t get it. How do I simply not care, about wearing a ratty old t-shirt at a wedding dinner party? Why should we disassociate with how, clothing, which is an extension of our body, aka an extension of our self, affects us? And how is it even possible to not let everything affect you? Do you just practice it so much, it doesn’t matter anymore? How does your choice of clothing at a certain point, “not matter”? Doesn’t everything matter? Why not just wear clothes we love and feel good in? Why should we make it “not matter”? Why not take it a step further and cut off your arm. Doesn’t it “not matter” bro? Why let that arm affect us? Don’t be a slave to having 2 arms bro?

    I came to this conclusion
no matter what you did or will do or does, people find you less attractive unless you copy their interests or give them the control button of your life
    Even you did so
They will find another hole to still make you under their mercy

But Julian.... In a work place for instance disapproval and ostracism can be an objectively bad thing that can make or break your future. As you know, as social animals, tribal animals, ostracism is bad. It can mean total ruin. Liss of job. Bullying in the work place. Destroyed menyal health. How do I get past all this? I can barely speak at work because of this. Heeelllllppppp lol

Mmmh.... not sure about this... you don't build courage and being able to stand alone on a mind decision. It builds over time, and progressively, because you are pushed by the circumstances to do so... The same way, you don't destroy centuries of convention just by will... it has consequences... i'm not saying it's bad though! Just that it takes, realistically, more time than this... Ask martial arts people or soldiers... or professional dancers and singers... or any person who needs courage on a daily basis to be able to function at their job or school ! I was bullied at school, and at some point, i realized that i was alone with that... no choice but being courageous and patient for everything to end...
