Chevy Colorado P0455 and P0449 codes and replacing vent valve selenoid

My 2007 Colorado was throwing codes P0455 which is a leak in emissions and a P0449 which is a problem with the vent valve selenoid so I replaced it. It's a good idea to check the circuit to make sure the wiring is good but this part has a high fail rate. Part was $60 on eBay and only took about 30 min to change with simple tools I go over everything in the video.

Will the Check Engine Light turn off on its own after the replacement or do I need a scanner device to reset it?

Vent valve: Duralast PV428 is $24...(04-05) GM 20941985 (06-12) Electric plug (Wells 1161) is only difference. Just heat the hose with hot water and switch it to the new one... Try cleaning the valve first... 12vdc and blow into it and it should be closed when powered... Valve comes off the housing... Tab is on top and turn it 90°. OR the Fuel Pump corrosion issue...

That a leak. Meaning gas fumes are escaping somewhere. Get a smoke test

In my 06 Canyon the hose from the valve to the canister runs on the back of the canister...

Pretty poor video. Didn't show any where how difficult lines and hoses can be to get off. You put a whole new canister assy. up there.
