One trick an old timer told me about is to pick up blown down heads and throw them in an a small mesh bottom utility trailer to get them off the ground to keep from rotting. They will dry out and you can then tow trailer down your prepped rows and seed will fall out while bouncing around. I asked local game warden about it and his opinion was told to keep legal trailer has to stay in the field. Maybe it could work for you? P.S. we call your cover weed Sicklepod. We fight it a lot!
Cover weeds are either Coffee senna or Sicklepod. Hard to control in ag fields. I sure hope you all have a great shoot. I just found out that our Georgia season doesn't open until 9/7. I just burned my Dove Proso Millet today. Millions of toasted seeds on the ground. I think Wednesday I'll mow my sunflowers down to spread the seed. Again, good luck on your shoot. You all will certainly have fun.
