Bought the XENYX 1202FX 2 years ago ( This is my 2nd mixer as my 1st 1202FX had issues) & now its on it way out starting the the pan pots knobs not functioning as expected !!! Now i'm having to buy a replacement of the same calibre
Looks like you cannot stack multiple effects, or assign a separate effect to each individual channel. This unit appears to apply only a single chosen effect # which gets fed globally into all channels across the board, and the level of that effect is all that can be adjusted for each channel. Correct?
@@musicandgearreviews so you cant have reverb on the mic channel and not have it on the audio channel? I want to play backing track music through it (no reverb) but still be able to add reverb to the mic. Is this not possible then? Seems odd?
@@unshackledsailing950 Of course you can, that's why you have 12 channels. Put a mic in one channel and whatever you use to source the music into another one. Then just use the effects knob on the mic channel.
Great video. I purchased the 1002fx solely for music playback. Love the effects. Dude, I see ya got ta have surge protection for the equipment. Get a "smart" protector. Plug your main component in, say the amp. When power draw is detected, it powers all your support equipment. Keeps ya from having to reach down behind the speakers every time. Loves.
Does anyone know how you get this mixer connected for audio to a computer with a DAW? I tried running to logic via RCA connected to the control room out section to the USB port of my Macbook running Logoc Pro X. However, Logic Pro X and my macbook both seem to not realise that I have plugged anything into the USB and thus just ignore the unit. How do I make my Mac recognise the mixer as my audio input unit? When I go to preferences > audio, the only available option is the built-in mic of my Mac, even with the mixer connected to USB. So, how do I get the Mac to actually recognise the mixer as an audio input??
Hey bro sorry for the late reply. I’m not sure you can use this as an audio interface alone. I believe it’s meant as an external submix but I might be wrong. Anybody out there know the answer to this question? Hopefully someone in the community knows but I’ll try and find an answer for you. Also, if you find the answer before we do if you don’t mind sharing that would be awesome cuz I’d like to know too
Please can I get help is this mixer suitable for connecting with behringer ep2000 amp. And if I choose effect and power off mixer must readjust it when I return open
Hey sorry for the late reply I just saw this! I think it’s personal preference really. Either way you end up EQing in post though so maybe to save time you could just EQ in post and skip the mixer. See my video on external camera mics. I prefer an external camera mic vs having audio recorded separately because it’s easier and faster. You do lose on sound quality but the time you save is worth it to me. Thx for the comment 💯
@@bluetech7128 for this mixer the EQ is separate from the FX. I would recommend a separate compressor as well. The Presonus studiochannel is a great compressor. Thx for the questions!
Hey thx for stopping by. I’m not sure about that? If you find out the answer if you don’t please sharing with the community because that’s a really good question I’d like to know too

He sir you’re correct. There is only a pre programmed multi-fx option but once selected its for all channels

Do you recommend to EQ talking head vocals using this mixer straight into a DSLR camera or EQ it in post?
Thanks for your time!

silly question, but is there really blue indicator color? or it just marketing? because I'm looking everywhere, and just found red
Hi sorry I just saw this question. I’m not sure exactly what you mean? I don’t see a blue indicator
@@musicandgearreviews i mean that number indicator light on minute 0:27 that one is red and the other series is blue

This is under a brand called Hill audio aswell.
Oh wow I didn’t know that! Can you post a link and share with the community? Thx

Awesome thx so much!
After using of 30 mints it’s getting heat
Any solution from you bro ??
Sorry I never had excessive heat on mine. Maybe exchange for a new one?
Is it midi?
No midi ports that I’m aware of
Dude, you have way too much bass in your microphone… Check your EQ

i wanted a demo of the thing, not a guy saying “check” for 4 mins.
I’m sorry I’ll try better next time😢
