    This vid got to the point. What to use, how to! Got my wife Granite tops but we have a Marble cut board that looks like a car graveyard. This looked so easy w/bit "O" elbow grease. Tks.

    Thanks for the video. I didn't realize my bathroom counter was marble. Had some dull spots that I mistook for stains. All-purpose cleaner didn't help. I'd heard that Bar Keepers Friend can help, but I didn't realize it's a specific product they make for that purpose. So I was using the oxalic acid powder from the can, same as I use for stainless steel. So of course, now the entire countertop is dull. Eventually I'll get around to polishing and protecting it.

      @cjklein85  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, bar keepers friend is basically the worst thing you can put in your marble counters.

    Thanks for this video, going have to try these products and technique. I have allot of marble as well. Moreover, I bought a coffee table from West Elm that has a marble slab, and there’s this big spot that’s not shiny and appears to be slightly rough. I’m going to let West Elm know. Hopefully what you did will help me.

    I was told the marble should be honed for kitchens to avoid stains, they hone them and seal it with like a water proof sealant ,
    Your counter top is stunning!!

    • @cjklein85
      @cjklein85  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      DeeDee Cameron yup. This way is a little less invasive as it’s just polishing and sealing. If you have deep abrasions or scratches honing is the best bet.

    • @jasonbastelli9602

      A professional stone restoration contractor can make the tops look brand new. Polished or honed. They can be made either way right in your home. Honed tops are uniformly dull , so when you get dull spots from etching, scratching and wear, it is less visible in contrast than dull spots on a brightly polished top. 25 yrs resurfacing stone in NJ

    Does it last?

    • @cjklein85
      @cjklein85  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alec BUSCEMI it lasts but you got to stay up in it and deal every 3/6 months and make sure you aren’t living items on the counter for extended periods.

      @geekonomist 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christopher Klein thanks for the response. How did you kinda destroy your counter top?

    • @cjklein85
      @cjklein85  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alec BUSCEMI mostly by leaving drinks out on the counter which leaves rings (even if it’s just water.). Also we host a lot of get togethers and if we were lazy cleaning up after parties inevitably it would wear away the shine on the marble

    Not very good filming there. Can’t really see the “before” damage due to the poor lighting and camera angle, so we only have your word that it was “kind of destroyed” whatever that means.
