We guys are lucky to be born in this era of tennis.Del Potro Murray warwinka clilic nishikori tsonga Ferrer Berdych Djokovic Nadal federer ❤️ thank you gentle giant for the memories

      @tonymiller6847 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I cried reading your response to the gentle giant's retirement= I never got to see him live, nor AA but I saw Laver and Gonzales live.
Unfortunately Ferrer is a sexist so I don't care that I never saw him live.
And I never liked Berdych's attitude nor the fact that he was rarely able to effectively counter attack once he got the initiative- he was a one dimensional player, not a truly all court player with defensive skills at the max like Rafa and the joker.
Unfortunately Stan the Man's one hand master stroke is of a dying breed Tsisissy pas will be the last one hander in the top five.
Thiem will never get back to where he once belonged. the one handed band is a relic of the past= just ask Justine Henin.
Federer is teaching his boys the double handed backhand, nuff said.

DelPo was screwed over by injuries. He is as good as any in the history of tennis. A true powerhouse and owner of arguably the biggest FH in tennis, period. It saddens me so much that two of my fav players ever Safin and DelPo were injury plagued. Though Safin was also a headcase on top of the injuries lol.

Yes I'm glad you mentioned what a head case Marat was. I saw him break rackets and be a crybaby at Indian Wells in person.
He lost any respect I had for him in one match= no self control at all. almost as bad as McEnroe and John didn't break rackets= a pet peeve of mine
==== I still own rackets I've had since the 60's.

I still feel very sad that he had to retire early due to that freak knee injury out of the blue when he was on very top form back in 2018. Such a talented player. His forehand is the best in the world. How he can generate such a speed with such a compact swing with his forehand is beyond me. Very consistent and accurate shot as well. Imagine how many deep runs and wins he could accomplish if he didn't have that knee injury (his wrist injuries on both hands as well). Such a shame.

I fear for any linesman that had to stare down one of those forehands down the line. It's like watching a four-seam fastball coming right at you

I ain't ever seen a man hit a ball as hard as him, when he decides to let that forehand go no1 can stop it

Del Potro could comfortably hit baseline forehands at 1st serve speeds

When you put so much weight into the ball, of course you will crash it (if you have that great timing like Juan has ;-) )

aún no entiendo que siendo tan bueno sólo ganara un gran slam. ojala no se hubiera lesionado, sino seguiría reventando la pelota con ese drive tan potente. Una lástima su retirada....

It seems like Djokovic was able to neutralize or even break down del Potro's forehand in the 2018 US Open final.

Nah, combo of Djokovic's hypnotic playing style and Delpo having an off day

Look how desperately Delpo’s opponents try to avoid his forehand
