Delpo my favorite tennis player! 💖 A player who was able to compete with the Big 3 the second to have the most wins against them. A humble player with a big heart on and off the courts. One of the only players to be unanimously loved by all. But one of the most unlucky physically with all his injuries that he had (wrist, knee ...). If he had not been so unlucky he could have been part of a big 5. Delpo a tennis legend that we are not ready to forget 💖🎾
I will miss the gentle power tower from Tandil. A sad day for all of us tennis fans, because he wasn't just a great tennis player he was and still is a great human being. Thank you DelPo for the beautiful moments, what you've shared with us and I wish you a happy and healthy retirement. Gracias por todo gran hombre

In an era of 3 GOATS , What he has achieved is simply incredible ! He is the lone player to win a major (2009 US open) outside of Big 3 from 2005 French open to 2012 Wimbledon spanning 30 tournaments !!!
His potential to have been esp Nadal's nemesis was clear because he hit an outstanding angled backhand along with first class movement for a big man.3-5 slams could have been in his remit inc a threat on clay..

No lo sé la lesión de la rodilla fue totalmente accidental de un resbalón, cuando el destino no está a tu favor no puedes hacer nada. Delpo estaba peleando por el nro 1 nuevamente como en el 2010 y le volvió a pasar es algo muy doloroso mirándolo desde afuera, me imagino como debió ser eso para él.

i doht know delpos game play too well but seems like he didn't make many errors, did he? looks very patient in these rallies, with high margin and high shot tolerance. i might be wrong tho.
you are right. ha wasnt the "crazy archetype" of dominant baseliner. high tennis iq with a weird footwork. and yes his patience was one of his "tools" in long matches (he has some)
I was fortunate to watch Del Potro - Roddick on a steaming hot day at the US open 2012 which became Andys last match and I recall thinking I thought Andy deserved more than one slam but also perhaps more clear in my memory was how incredibly respectfull Delp was to Andy during his retirement "on court cermony" afterwards and if Delpo would finnish with more than one. Sadly Delpo didnt and he wil be missed greatly!

When Rafa and Novak have to guess where your forehand is gonna go, then you know you have something special. Too bad injuries didn't let us enjoy more of Delpo on tour. I'm sure he would have won a lot more titles, maybe including a couple more grand slams.

Del Potro wasn't just about power. He also constructed points really well. This is such an underrated aspect of his game.
