I heard it's $10k for Military SSRV, and $20k for fully Civilian SRRV? Is that Retired Military only or Honorably Discharged Veteran? Do the consider monthly VA Disability $ like a Pension?
I used JRC, So So So effortless, Highly Recommend JRC, I got My 13 A last month, I am Disabled Married, and 54, Cebu, Thanks JR and Staff, Your Awesome!!! God Bless
Really great information for potential expats. Very knowledgeable resource person - and may I point out that you handled the interview very well - with ease and professionalism. Good job! Perhaps this is a niche that you could incorporate into your vlogs or else start another channel just to provide all sorts of info and resources for foreigners. All best.
Interesting, I was not aware you could work in the Phil when you have 13a visa. If you were to get married and you get the 13a visa, and if the relationship did not work out, then do the SRRV. Does not seem like it is beneficial financially to do the SRRV when not a retired military. Great interview. Many vloggers have had him on but you asked different questions and got more information this time!!
Jr and you look like to great friends with 2 beers in your hands. I like the information that Jr was able to give regards getting visas to the Philippines

I have heard JR before and he is so knowledgeable and well spoken! I would love to hear what (if any) options exist for unmarried immigrants under 50 years old. Sounds like maybe the 75K investment visa is the only option??
@@ThatPhilippinesLife Ok, but is that only people who retired from the military - did a 20+ year stint? What about folks who did their four years, got out and retired from some other non-military job?
I have a question- my mom Philipina Canadian and I was born in the US, so I am American Canadian but not Filipina, can you handle this for me. My mom passed away. I am here in the Philippines and I want to stay in my mother’s home country. Thank you 🙏
@@wavemaker2077 Yes at that time I was born she was still hold a Philippines passport but she didn’t report my birth to the Philippines consulate. A lawyer told me that I have 2 other passports and my mom passed so I will not be able to claim it.
@@Pilipinasenvrac The Philippine constitution stated that a person born from a Filipino parent is a Filipino. There are no exceptions to that rule. Can you find her old passports? Maybe even old documents like when she acquired another citizenship. It means that she was a Filipino before acquiring another citizenship, right? Go to Philippine consulate in Canada they can help you …call them for appointment. If you’re mom is holding a Philippine passport the time you were born then you are a Filipino.Find her old passport and live birth certificate and death certificate too you will need it.
but I am irritated because I am sure I heard from several people that you can invest this SSRV money into a Condo, and not have to keep in the account. SRRV Classic says: "For 50+ year old who opt to use their SRR Visa deposit into active investment such as the purchase of condominium unit* or long term lease of house & lot."
@@ThatPhilippinesLife But that is maybe just the thing with Q&A with Filipinos. My experience is, you have to be very precise or elaborately :) Because the answer on "Can these 20K be used to invest in a Condo?" is generally not wrong. The thing is.. Answers from Filipinos are often not really proactive, but just answers to the exact question, so the addition of "..but if you invest 30K more, you can use it completely for an investment in a condo." was maybe just missing :) I think that was the problem, because thats something I experienced so often :) Example: "Is the waterfall open?" - "No it is closed" (without: "..but in 30 minutes, they will open" lol) -> Result: Western guy drives away because he thinks they are closed. "Can I get this dish without pork?" - "Sorry sir, not possible" (without: "..but there is a dish with the same recipe but only vegetables, with another name, on the menu.") Did you have similar experience? ;)
@@ThatPhilippinesLife, is there a minimum amount for that pension? Asking because my pension is quite small, which is only sufficient for groceries. It’s still better than nothing.
The information re opening a bank account may be inaccurate? I've been here almost 4 months however BPI requires an residency (not tourist) Alien Card. Without that BPI refused/refuses to open an account for me. Is this accurate from BPI?
Here's a good question. I would like for you to ask. I If my Filipino wife passes away. And we have property. In the Philippines. But I am a foreigner. How do I go about? Selling the property. Or keeping it.
We did talk about this in the video but he also pointed out that there are different answers based on different things (ie. Did you have a child together) main simple answer is you get one year to sell it (from what I have been told) but he did say there are some ways so best to talk to him directly about specifics
Tying up that much money with no return is a non-starter. I have no issue with Filipino banks, however. They have not had a major bank failure in nearly 50 years. The US has had three in the last 12 months. With the demise of Hong Kong, only Singapore has a more stable banking system in east Asia, that including Japan, South Korea and ASEAN.
I think it is much safer there than in many US banks, sorry to say that :P And by the way I think the information is not correct, because you can invest that money into a Condo, SRRV Classic says: "who opt to use their SRR Visa deposit into active investment such as the purchase of condominium unit* or long term lease of house & lot. Doesn't look like it - For foreign nationals, 50 years old & above, who are retired Armed Force officers of foreign countries with existing military ties and/or agreement with the Philippine Government. A monthly pension of at least US$1,000.00 and an SRR Visa deposit of US$1,500.00 are required
