Same hitting those 1 shot weak point shots w the M1000 is the best feeling in the game (especially on those annoying spreaders and machteras). But i do also enjoy ai stability on the GK2 for that pew pew.
Finally someone puts respect on it. I'm a scout main of 900+ missions as scout, and the GK2 is my go-to primary. It's reliable, Powerful, long-ranged, and has better ammo efficiency than the M1000 without needing nearly as much accuracy. It deals much better armor breaking than most anything in the game, and is far more reliable than the drak in my experience. It's just really, really good all around.
@@LoneWolf10-12 I have two scout builds, but they both use the same GK2 build; 2 1 2 2 2, or firerate, damage, clip size, armor breaking, firerate, with the overclocked firing mechanism as the overclock. Sometimes I use Homebrew Powder instead, but it's inconsistent, and I like the firerate better. This build gives GREAT DPS and armor breaking, with a 40-round clip for great sustained fire. It can peel and nearly kill a praetorian in one clip, it can kill stingtails in a clip, and any weaker priority target in 2-10 bullets, two-shotting or 3-shotting spitters in the blink of an eye, which is what you need if you want to survive on Hazard 5. It's an absolutely amazing reliable primary, the best and most reliable one i've ever found for Scout. If you want more accuracy out of it, try floating barrel and hollow point bullets for that sweet sweet weakspot DPS. Of course, tweak it to your playstyle as needed.
3:48 I've used the GK2 a lot, and have used that overclock, so here's my 2 cents on it; While the inconsistency can be mildly annoying at times, the firerate of the gk2 means it rarely affects you, and in my experience, it puts a surprising amount of damage into your overall DPS. Great for squeezing extra DPS out of your gun, but if you want consistency, which you often need at haz 5, take a different overclock. If you aren't going to be doing any haz 5s or edd's though, it's a great addition that adds a pleasing amount of damage.
Ai stability engine is just a stable overclock in disguise, the slower rate of fire is pretty good for conserving ammo, and the slight decrease of damage you can just put on a damage upgrade to offset that
7:59 Elec reload is my absolute favorite overclock for this and is the reason I use the Deepcore more than all the other weapons for him. Free damage for a single hit on an enemy, and a perfect combo with the crossbow’s final tier electric mod. Add in the stun mod and fast reload, and the bugs can only sit and die.
Perfectly fits the hit-and-run way I play scout. Only downside used to be that when paired with more direct damage dealers during point extraction missions they'd kill everything before the electrification would. Solved that by simply foraging for more minerals during the wait for the pod out on my own where I can slow down and thin the swarms on their way to the minehead.
As someone who has tried all three Scout primaries, I must say: They all feel good in their own areas :o Deepcore GK2 is mostly a generalist weapon, works best at quickly picking bugs apart one by one M1000 can fit the similar role, but also has priority target capability with the focus shot, or use super blowthrough rounds for hitting multiple bugs Plasma Carbine has elemental options, and excels at clearing out bullet fodder, just mind the heat Overclocks of course make things quite interesting
Part of why I personally like the deep core is because it avoids one of scouts biggest problems: he is completely useless against a group of enemies. The 2nd most effective he will be is with bodkin points on boltshark, with the most effective being the dc. Even with ai stability engine, the dc kills hordes of enemies quite quickly, while also still being quite good against bigger enemies, if not a bit slower than the m1000. It also avoids scouts chronic “i have no ammo” problem.
32222 ai oc is by far the best setup for me. Paired with the unstable broomstick Shockwave I've saved so many haz 5 missions where the whole team was down
Only real way to use it, 2 shot grunts and you can easily hit things on the ceiling without worrying about missing or anything. Preas and oppressors melt. I've started using it over the m1000 lately because I don't have to concentrate as much, but mostly because I've still not gotten a single m1000 overclock despite having Fatman, hyper projectile, hellfire, both elemental bolts, and alot of other really good overclocks. I'm cursed or something
Electrifying reload was my 1st overclock i ever got and it is definitely a great tool to have. Sure you lose ammo reserves but being able to tag most things and let the ridiculously long shock DoT do all the work really lets you conserve ammo for a stupidly long time
Per the wiki, it works with the bolts but not the grenades. It's possible the wiki is out of date, but it was certainly the case for a long time and likely still was when this video was posted
@@SIMULACRA37dont worry it works with pheronades now(it was a bug) and wiki probably didnt update(or he was referencing fandom which is not official and fake dont trust it)
I have had a lot of fun with this weapon built for maximum fire rate, It's really good like that paired with anything to freeze enemies, but is more effective when you are up close and personal compared to builds more focused on better stability or efficiency. I just find it fun.
Love the videos. Maybe an idea for this weapon series is just to give some examples of what secondaries they go well with and why. Rock and stone brother!
I've used the random damage oc for a while and I gotta say it feels stronger I didn't like the idea of using it at first, but I've seen it's potential (and it's consistent, although a bit boring) I like the electric reload much much more. It's fun, different and *very* powerful
I honestly find myself going back to the Deep core or the Drak, rather than the M1000. I don't hate the M1000, I just prefer to spray then grapple hook out rather than "snipe."
Homebrew is a really good choice for things like deep dives when you don't know exactly what you're going to run into. It's a good all around choice since even at the lowest bonus, it's still a bonus with no downsides, unlike AISE that relys heavily on weakspot accuracy. And since it's clean, the build is really flexible. And despite what the wiki says, with electric reload, the amount of bullets you put into a target does NOT matter, they DO NOT stack damage. One bullet does the same DoT as emptying the whole mag. One bullet is all it takes to kill grunts.
My favorite deepcore build is Bullets of Mercy paired with Cryo Minelets Zhukovs. Gives really good self defense and utility with cryo and pretty strong damage for single target and cc
From the very time I got AI Stability Engine overclock, I got it's overpowered. It gives your rifle buffs of an unstable OC, but it's downsides are on level of a balanced OC. Other ones look quite useless, comparing to AISE.
Get video and overview of the GK2 and it's overclock. Hopefully, this summary help a few beginners focus on what overclocks to work towards, and which fit their play style. I will note that the GK2's recoil is not that strong, especially if you are used to realistic, FPS shooters. With the overclocked firing mechanism, there is a small kick after the first bullet and then the recoil levels out.

I’ll always think the M1000 is the best, but I gotta respect anyone with the self control to forgo the *ping* for their weapon of choice
Believe me it is hard to ignore the ping.
M1000 is great but sadly I suck at using it, thus AI Engine Stability is my scout go-to

If you think scout is completely useless against a large group of bugs you must’ve not experimented with overclocks for his other weapons.
Bullets of Mercy also get the damage bonus vs pheromoned and while irradiated (radiation dot) by the Drillers Wave Cooker.

It's funny cuz it's still outclassed by M1K in almost every aspect. But it is still LEAGUES ahead of the dreadful Drak plasma thing
M1000 imo is better, with the super cooling Overclock you can take out Prats and oppressors with 2 or 3 shots. Provided you hit the weakpoint
