  • Although we have featured Audi e-tron's before on the channel, we had yet to bring you the definitive verdict on the e-tron S, the sporty, performance flagship of Audi's all-electric SUV. Is this the one that we would recommend? Is this (finally) pinnacle e-tron? Having been disappointed before, Bryan undertakes the full ‪@AutoEV‬ road test, warts and all, to bring your our thoughts on this fast electric Audi. Will this be the one to have, or is your money better spent elsewhere? Watch as we bring you our fully independent verdict.
    And if you would like to see the other e-tron videos we have done, head over to autoev.co.uk to find our back catalogue of road test reviews and all your electric vehicle news.

    A bit of an old video but really good! Let be honest the Volvo is £30k cheaper but its not an Audi, the Volvo is not a premium brand, some say it is, but in all honesty its not, we have one for work, it is a 23 plate and it is nowhere near what Audi or BMW give sorry. I moved from a 2021 Kia EV6 GT Line 225bhp which was £45k in the UK new with Kia eye watering £4k deposit (for a Kia!!!), to a used MY21 e-Tron Launch Edition with every option from the factory on it for less than £35k with £0 deposit, it was £92k new, I seen the Audi sales sheet for the car in the glove box to confirm this, its only done 32k miles, really really nice condition.... refurbed alloys, new tires, paint correction all done by Audi. I did test drive the i-Pace and EV6 GT Line S but I felt at home with the Audi, much more capable car it seems/feels. It is a tank on the road no doubt, and only see's 230 miles range in summer with recent updates, poissible sub 200 in winter. But then again, the EV6 only returned 250 miles in the real word, I did see 300+ on the Kia's GOM, but tracking GPS miles it was 250-270 on a good week as long as you drive under the speed limits 5-65mph. So anyway, a used MY21 e-Tron can be had for £57k less than it was new a few years ago :) if you can live with 200 ish miles range, seems fine to me, never had an issue, changes a few times a week at £6 for 200-230 miles range depending on how you want to use the 408BHP.... Thank you for the review, some great cars on your channel.

    It is ironic that even their own Q4 is better in many aspects, not least one of the most important being range.

    Too bad the steering isn't programmable. Or could there be a way to get in there an change the ratios to one's own liking?

    Great video, again nicely presented. Must admit I reached the same conclusion when looking at options in replacing my S4. For me personally I'm targeting a non-SUV transition to EV and for the same outlay, an etron GT would make more sense. Really like the look of the Taycan Cross Turismo which as you say probably is a more compelling case than the etron S for those that need a bit more space. Love S cars, but this one doesn't quite make sense to me. Keep up the great work!

    The depreciation of this car is insane. You can pick a used one up with very little mileage for close to half the new price…

    Very nice car, shame the range is pitiful…

    The Taycan CT with the same options as the etron RS will cost a lot more. I have no problems driving all day in my Prestige @80MPH and stopping a few times to charge. If watching any Tesla road trips they rarely go any further between super chargers than the Audi can do. In real life circumstance the Audi is a fine road tripper. Here in the US we have been buying them at a big discount so far.

    It’s a great car, but the tri motor setup was a result of the plad models coming to market, but instead Audi vag, vw need to improve both motors and battery packs efficiently by the mid refresh or they are going to be a neesh market

    Have to agree with you Bryan. I was quite excited about this car. When I saw the specs I thought “finally, they’ve fixed the Etron”. Then I saw the price. Nope. The old guard really need to take a look at what the Koreans are doing and the price point they’re achieving. Their interiors aren’t that far behind any more either. There’s still a gap in materials there, but £40k less of a gap?

      A car that just can't justify its price tag I'm afraid. I really want to like the big e-tron, but ultimately, they always seem to disappoint me.

    Hi. Curious if you think it's a practical EV for a Dog? Looks a little high to me?

    • @AutoEV
      @AutoEV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Biff. Depends on the dog, and what else you may want to carry alongside the dog. It would certainly be suitable for say labradors or collies, probably German shepherds too. St Bernard? Hmmm, struggling there I would say! If you are talking of how easy it is for them to get into, then again it depends on how energetic the dog is. The aforementioned breeds would be fine, and something as energetic as a spaniel should be fine. Smaller (or like mine, lazier) than that, they will struggle.

    That range is perfectly adequate for its intended use; it is a school run car after all.

    The Volvo is bloody ugly and who apart from a couple of boring parents, with their boring kids, wants one on the drive. It’s this or the i pace..
