    Hey guys, I’ve been watching your build and Russell’s. I really enjoy watching , like seeing people sharing what they learn .I put an AD Chevy on a Tahoe a couple years ago , drove it for a couple months to find the gremlins then took it to the paint shop- just about to get it back. I used the floor and firewall from the Tahoe,all the wiring went right back. I used the seats,steering system, all the switches,4wd,lights etc. I fabbed metal surrounds for them under the instrument cluster. I did have to lengthen the wires for the cruise control as it had to be moved. I left the Tahoe inside fenders on so most things fit back. I did have to take the antilock brake system off for room .The body mounts all bolt in as original except the rad mount. I had to raise the seats about 2”. But all the seats,consol, seat belts bolted right back in. The original AD cab floor ended up about 2” lower to get things to fit . I like the dyi concept, instead of having endless funds and hiring everything done. 👍

      We talked about doing that type of swap when we started. Just mating the cab to the Tahoe firewall and leave everything there. We really wanted to keep the original dash so we decided to go full out. I think if we do another one with like a panel suburban I may go that route to try it out. Thank you for mentioning the DIY build. We really set to go with a build not bought mentality as much as we can. Also I have a wizard for a dad who likes to make stuff, that helps a lot. We have really learned a lot doing this build. Thanks for watching with us!

    There is a wire that needs 12v for the transmission to shift correctly. It is located on one of the small purple plugs comming from the fuse block

    • @joffreyotg
      @joffreyotg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you talking about the TCC wire in the c100 plug? I have that one hooked up. We did find another video that has a wire we are missing. We are going to hook this new wire that needs 12v that is supposed to turn it on.

    😅 great work you and your dad. It’s awesome to see you guys going together. This is Russ McConahay. The guy doing the 57 on the Tahoe. You guys are Kruzan. Great work good to see a drive and gives me hope. Curious what are you doing for your four-wheel-drive shifter? I am struggling with figuring out how to shift the transfer case and the front differential without the factory harness.

      Ohhh yeah.... the 4x4 is something we are still trying to figure out ourselves. We have that currently in the "We will circle back to that" Section of the build. I'll let you know Russ when we figure it out. We are hoping to use the original controls and module.....but I'm sure you know how that might go.

      Is it a switch in the Tahoe? My Dodge Ram 1500 4WD has a switch.

    Thanks for taking the time to make a video and sharing it with us. Its great that you and your dad are doing this together! It looks like buying the aftermarket wiring harnesses are the way to go for those of us who dont have experience with LS swaps. What steering column are you using? I may have missed that from one of your earlier videos.

      Hey there thanks for following along! Here is the Column we purchased for the truck. It's from Jegs.

    Do you have the speedo wire hooked up properly? if you plug it on the wrong sensor it won't shift correctly.

  • @thomasreid8504
    @thomasreid8504 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hey Joffrey. Here is the answer to why your 4L60E will not shift. Connect this one wire described in the video and immediately it will begin shifting properly. I had the same problem after installing the same setup into my Nissan D21 hardbody. No more problems after that. Here is the link. Great job by you and your father.

      Unfortunately, I did not record the building of the truck. I only have a short clip of the truck running. Mine is the all aluminum LM4 5.3 from a Trailblazer. My total investment including truck was under $5000. Here is the link to truck running, Thanks: th-cam.com/video/N-StqJX-Lbk/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=ThomasReid

    Did you hook up the four-wheel drive parts it could be what's missing for the transmission to work right

    • @joffreyotg
      @joffreyotg  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We have not hooked up any of transfer case wiring yet to the system. We did end up finding out that we missed a power wire in our wiring harness for the transmission. There are actually TWO that need to be hooked up in order to make it work. We ended up doing a whole new engine harness after all that work to make it easier. It worked fine after we put the new harness in but we think we know where we messed up.

    I would like to know how your planning to engage the 4x4 looking to do this swap with a 70 blazer

    • @joffreyotg
      @joffreyotg  ปีที่แล้ว

      The plan as of right now is to use the stock module and switches. Not sure how it's going to work out but that is the plan as of right now. I do know there are some stand alone transfer case setups that we have saved on the back burner. When we get to that part I will for over it for sure! Thanks for tuning in!

    Figure out the transmission? sounds like solenoids

    • @joffreyotg
      @joffreyotg  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh yeah we figured it out. It was 100% a power or ground issue with our harness going to the transmission. Once we put in the new harness we had made it fired right up no problem. I believe we missed one 12v wire in the harness. Causing the transmission to not have power.

    Are you going to title this truck as a 57 pickup or a Tahoe???

    • @joffreyotg
      @joffreyotg  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So in Oklahoma, there is a form to do a joint title. So you take the 57 title and vin, the Yukon title and vin, and join them together and they give you a new VIN and title. You then have to stamp the new VIN into the truck somewhere. In retrospect, we thought this was the best thing to do, however we should have just left it titled as a 57 in Oklahoma. I mean our DMV system here is pretty easy, I don't know if you could this in California for example.
