What a great build. I am happy you got the wiring for the tranny sorted out. I'm over in Alabama and considering the same swap for one of my trucks (59). Your videos give me a lot of confidence going forward. Thanks for sharing the information!
Great job to both of you so excited to see you made it to the power tour I’m not even close. I know you challenged me to a little bit of race but I have got seized up and I have to work every day and have not been able to get a lot done but I’m gonna keep plugging along. Hope to see you on the road someday.
Hey man it’s all good! It’s all in good fun anyways. Your going a little deeper into your build so it will take more time. Maybe we can team up for power tour next year? Or at least get together and shoot some video going over both trucks for everyone that would be fun.
Would you be willing to share the installation instruction for your ez swap kit? Iv got a 2007 escalade and a 56 chevy id like to put together and id like to see some measurements if possible
The steering column we purchased had the tabs in the column for the shifter cable. We used the stock shifter cable and wired it into the new tabs on the column. Then adjusted the cable so the indents lined up with our selector.
So we moved the cab and front clip forward about 3 inches to make our radiator and stock fan configuration a simpler install. We also didn’t like the front wheel gap in the cabs original position. So we decided to live with the larger gap on the bed and cab to have the wheel wells where we wanted them. If you watch the first ever video at the end you will see that the front clip has a 2-3 inches gap on the door fender gap. That’s how far foward we ended up moving the cab.
Probably not too much. The box is what ends up taking all the space to line up. Best thing to do would be drop the suspension or do a 2wd diner truck and slam it. That’s my 2c.
We put in a aftermarket steering column that would work with our setup. It has turn signals and tilt capability's. We then modified our steering wheel to work with that column. I can get you the actual column part number if you want it.
Haha so it’s called a “robocup” it’s just a spring loaded dual cup holder. We use them all the time on film sets. You can find them on Amazon for like 35$. Just search “robocup”
@@joffreyotg yeah after watching all you videos and half ass and others I figured out how to do it on Hp, actually really easy so that worked out. Thanks and nice truck build.
So, your dad is a bubblehead! I was an EM on the Queenfish 637 class. Good job with the truck.
Yes he is! He was a nuclear power tech on the USS Nautilus 571. It’s actually a museum up in Groton CT now. Thank you for your service as well!
I’d love to see more vids of this truck! I binged all 8 parts today.
Awesome job, you guys rock 🤘
Thanks for watching!

Do it! The truck is too good now.
Great work guys! Please find joy in doing projects as Father/son, some of us wish we could have that and can’t.
I can't believe you guys don't get more views and have more subs. I hope it pics up for you because you have a great channel
Thank you so much! I really would like to do more.
Love the truck!
Thanks man! It’s really good. I drove it daily for a week and it’s way way too good actually.
What did you do transmission cables

Hey shoot me an email and i will send you the PDFs. Joffreyotg@gmail.com
@@joffreyotg Mind if I get that PDF too.? Just picked up a '55 Cgevy 3200 longbed, and hoping to swap onto a Suburban chassis/.
Nice project. Can you tell me what you did with the cable transmission
Hey there. Im not sure what you are asking about with the cable transmission? Its a 4l60e so its all electronic.
@@joffreyotg cable transmission Long what did you do with it
@@byrook010 are you asking about the transmission shifter cables? That go up to the Column shift?
@@joffreyotg yes

Just curious why was there so much gap in the bed and cab I want to do the same swap but 2wd

Is it possible to get the body any lower on that platform

How did you keep the steering wheel

Just note if your using a true 57 steering wheel you will need the 30 inch not the 32. We loved the 56 wheel so we went with that and a 32.
@@joffreyotg I will be using a 59 wheel. Go with 32 ?

Did you get 4wd to work?
Not yet! But is on the list. I know videos have been quiet but I’m hoping to get back on the truck soon! I’ll shoot video about the 4x4 I promise.
Awesome, I want to do the same thing. If you ever decide to sell let me know
Oh man that might be awhile...Lots of sentimental value in this one for me.
How did you unlock the cpu… did you do it with your hp tuner?
So we had our local tuner in Tulsa unlock the computer with a VATS removal. I believe you can do this in HP Tuners though.

That thing deserves a lift and some wheels and tirea
I like the way you think! How tall and how big would you go.
