@Nate Barbakoff If you are playing fairly well with your current set (irons in particular) it might actually be more helpful to get a gap fitting rather than a complete revamp of the entire set. I've had the experience of fitting (Club Champion in NYC) for a set of Epon irons - which cost a lot - and still ended up going back to my old iron set. It's not that the Epons were bad - but they did not really improve my game. The issue I have with the fitting was they only used the 7i as a baseline - and they sell you the set. There was no lie angle fitting per club, no gap fitting to adjust the lofts per club, etc. Sticking with my older irons (Sterling Single Length) and working on my game shaved 3 strokes of my handicap (from 7 to 4) in about a year. The point is, I can play the Epons I was 'fitted' for - but I can also play my older irons just as well. Maybe a driver fitting would be more beneficial as the shaft, head, weight, etc could really make a huge difference in your driving. But again, if there's an opportunity to improve on your fundamentals first - say your angle of attack is too steep, etc - you might want to correct/address that first - THEN get fitted for a driver. Getting fitted is definitely a great experience - but after two fittings - I probably won't do it again - unless the fitting is really a complete run through of all the irons and includes a gap fitting as well so I can dial in 14-15yards gapping per club (or unless I just want to buy a new set again - hahaha). Hope this helps.

Always comes down to wedge and putter. I'm really thankful that I can go out and play golf and really enjoy myself. Not that I don't try my hardest or try and improve my game but I don't have to deal with that enormous pressure of having to win inorder to feed my family. I know some people feed of those pressure cooker situations, almost like a drug they need to feel that to play at that level. As competitive as I am, and I used to be excessive, as I mature I believe golf can be a form of meditation. Perhaps it might (depending on one's intention) be considered a borderline spiritual practice.

Ok so what about being a PGA PRO? Or a Tour Pro? What does it take get this title? Also, to be a PRO you need to earn income through playing/teaching golf.
Love your honesty...... Instead of "how to become a pro", maybe consider a video on "how to qualify to play in a professional or amateur tournament".......
Great video man. I'm a pro golfer too and that's what I used to tell people whenever they asked me the same thing. However I felt like it sounded way too easy and not a true representation of what it means. It sounds like anyone could do it and that is not the case. I came with a better answer: you are considered a professional golf once you PLACE in a professional tournament and earn money. Being a professional is literally charging for what you do. Anyone can play in a professional event but not everyone can make a cut or finish high enough on mini tours to earn money.
That was very interesting bro, I also really liked the course material you rolled in, the color of the turf was a great contrast with you hitting shots especially the aerial footage, piece of art right there, all the best.
Great Vid! I'm currently living in China and will purchase a new set of players club in order to become that single digit handicaper I once was. If successful, I'll check that "Pro" box just for fun to feel the thrill again.
Lol, that's wild. Never thought "turning pro" was that easy haha. Guess there is a big difference from turning pro to earning a living. Thanks for the insight.
I am thinking about taking golf as my career as i am so passionate about it. My plan is to start to invest in properties market from now and then have enough passive income to support my golfing career. Thanks for your video!
Hey Luke I saw in one of your previous videos that there is one hole located near you in Texas for short game practice. I also live near you and was wondering where that is so I can practice there too.
I keep thinking of golfers like Tim Wilkinson, and think how committed they must be. I can't give you any advice, but wish you all the best for your future.
Hey Luke! I’m Mikey, I love your page and what you’re doing. I started playing golf about a year and a half ago but have progressed very rapidly. I have such a passion for it and have never wanted anything else in life so bad than to play pro one day. I was just wondering if you had some tips especially since I probably won’t have a coach and will just have to rely on practice everyday. I know the odds are against me, but people like you inspire me to push through those odds
Great video! Can you tell us more about how much you have to practice to become a pro and what you do to practice? I'd also like to know more about your experiences at tournaments.
I don’t know what the rules are in the States but over in the UK you need to get down to a certain amateur level to be eligible to be considered and also to enter pro tournaments. Some tournaments you have to be scratch before you can tick the box to turn pro and also supply handicap certification. Even as a pro sometimes you need to get 2 signatures from other PGA professionals so you can enter the British Open qualification. You have to be 2 and below as an amateur and again provide proof. Just to clarify this isn’t the way to turn as a PGA professional, completely different.
Oh thats actually really interesting! I didnt know that. I do rmr in NZ you had to actually go thru NZPGA q school to turn pro bc that was the only tour down there and it required you to go thru q school so turning pro was a bigger deal down there. I just forgot to mention in the video things could be different in other parts of the world
@@LukeKwonGolf I think it’s a lot easier in the US to turn pro compared to other parts of the world because like you said in the video, all you have to do is sign a bit of paper 🤣. Good luck this season bud 👍🏼. Shame Korn Ferry isn’t televised that great over here in the UK, great players on that tour.

Interesting video. I saw a news article a couple years back, a young girl trying to get on the LPGA.
