Btw everyone, I hit two pitch shots on 15 because the first one actually ended up not being my ball😂 So obviously in a tournament that would be a penalty but G was nice enough to let me go hit my actual ball which was the second pitch shot without a penalty

At this point, Brad seems happy. More so than Luke, but I certainly hope Luke stays around as well. They probably need to bring another good golfer into GoodGood. I thought Bubby was going to take a step up in his game but really hasn't. Steve doesn't care enough to become a good golfer, even though he probably has enough talent to do so. Steve might like fishing more. Matt is probably playing his fifth best sport. Don't know why Ben didn't work out. He always was a big part of the GoodGood vids that he was in. A. He's not even CLOSE to a tour level player. The level of separation from a scratch golfer to a pro is the same as a starter on a mid tier college basketball team and an NBA player. Keep in mind, NONE of the courses they play on these videos are at tour level difficulty with 4 inch thick rough, greens that roll a 12, and pins tucked into corners you cannot go after. They don't play these rounds in front of audiences and a scoreboard in full view meaning these videos have ZERO pressure in comparison to a pro tournament. The dude would absolutely be one of the best players at his local club course, but that's the extent of it

I grew up with kids who could shoot 65 every day, and later spent 1 to 3 years on tour struggling. Two shot 59 on tours and still didn't make it.
I've come to believe golf is not about hitting a ball solid, it's about scoring under pressure when it matters most, on impossible courses. Roughs up, greens are blazing fast, fairways are cut super low, lights are on, people are heckling.
Playing for your livelihood is another level.

Any doubters, go watch a Korn Ferry open qualifier and you'll see how unbelievably good guys are that can't even break into the KF tour. Brad and Kwon are probably 2 levels away. And I mean absolutely no disrespect to any of the guys.

Even in an amateur qualifier he would get blasted. It is just so different than playing with the scrubs (outside of Kwon and Brad) he plays with. I also think he doesn’t truly know where he is becuase he plays by TH-cam rules and not real (OB, miraculously finding every ball, extremely lenient drops out of hazards, etc.

I wonder if Brad and Garrett have read the “Outliers” book. Not only are top pro golfers talented and committed, but if you analyse their childhood I think you'll find immense luck. Their situation allowed and motivated the early training. Things like: dad was a golf pro, lived on a golf course, access to top teachers, and proximity to other top junior. Or in some cases, a strong motivation to succeed due to overcome racial prejudice. It's a really good book and worth a read.

Same as with work, if you want to be better than average or good, then you put in some more hours or days and chances are you excel...if you have the talent, you are the one who determines what you limits are and what you are prepared to do to achieve it.

In asking a former tour player the difference between a good D1 college player and a PGA pro is the ability to go very low when conditions are right and/or the golf setup is forgiving. A D1 player can commonly go 1-2 strokes under par when conditions are good but they rarely will shoot in the low 60's. Touring pro's will shoot low when the conditions are right and still go 1-2 under when conditions are tough. David Duval has the course record at our local public course that used to host Nike Tour Events. Duval shot a 59! That score card has many 2's and 3's recorded. It is a whole other level!

G, did you ask Brad the right question? You might have learned more if you asked him "what do PGA golfers do that I do not?"
One answer would be that they play par 3's closer to par. They putt better. They don't normally have swing breakdowns like that feared snap hook that shows up under pressure.
Mostly their mental games are a LOT better. You can figure that out.

I would prefer TH-cam golf over pga tour golf all day long. Seems like you get to play golf instead of having to play. Yall are some very fortunate guys man. It’s awesome.

Garrett you know as well as anyone even the most talented players may never play a PGA Tour event for a number of reasons. Sometimes it is just bad luck, bad timing, one bad swing or missed putt. However, you have done something most P.G.A. professionals and Tour Pro will never accomplish to promote the game and have fun in front of thousands. You still have fun and people enjoy watching you and the people you play with regardless of what your score card says at the end of the day. You are doing exactly what a professional is supposed to do grow interest and participation in the game of golf. One day you may get to play in a PGA Tour event I wish you all the luck and hope you do. Long term I think you will look back and say I helped grow the game I love and had a hell of a time doing it. Keep chasing your dreams where ever they may take you!

suggestion - can you put the fullswing data on the tee shots in the corner? only on this channel, it's fun to see high caliber players and what they cruise at...i do wonder how Luke feels about now being excluded from the "good golfer" club...

I think the hardest is playing consistently no matter pace etc. Think about all the rounds you play fast get into them and light up the course. Now take and add time in between every shot waiting. PGA players are so consistent slow or fast. Windy or calm.

I think Grant is every bit as good as George. I think you and Micah have potential to play on tour, but Micah needs to see major improvement on his short game. You are so naturally gifted, I don’t think there is one specific area to work on except for the mental aspect.

You played with Min Wo Lee, if you can hang with him- you can make it. Also, tour course set ups are crazy hard. Approach shots need to be inside 20’. TH-cam more fun and maybe more money than low line pro.

I wish I could spend my day working on my golf game and going to the gym. I truly believe if I was able to do that, I could make it to the pga. I might be delusional, but I’m already almost a scratch golfer and I can barely practice for a couple hours throughout the week and might be able to play once a week.

I m a 12 hcp and shot a 94 on a pretty hard course today. The thing is I struck the ball really well and actually had a decent game but couldn’t score. Man it seems you sometimes hit great shots with bad results and bad shots that end up good. 😅putting is the key

10% chance. Between the stress involved, performance under pressure, and skill level required, it’s a tough gig. Focus on your health first Garrett. Once your brain is calm, your body follows. Less anxiety and stress is always healthier

When you see the gap between you and the guys who worked incredibly hard and are KF Tour or other satellite tour players, it is a very quick answer to know the massive gap to play at PGA tour levels. These guys consistently card 6 under par or better when they are guests on YT channels, which an emphasis on “consistently”.
