The book made you cry? I haven't read it yet. Is it as emotional as the film? The movie was so wonderful. I felt like someone had cleaned the lens of life and I found it was both astounding and in a language I couldn't understand. Yet something deeper in me grasped every word. I want to read the book but does the crying hurt unbearably? I can't read it in French so will it be as good in the translated version?
@@Samua3 No, don't worry. The book is not sad in the literal sense. It's just melancholic and surreal in a way that triggers something emotional in you, at least it was like that for me. I wasn't sobbing per se, a lot of tears just came out of my eyes because I was so moved by the beauty of the book. I haven't watched the movie, though. I recommend reading the book in your native language, it adds to the experience rather than take away from it. :)

@@alicenolfi2095 agreed, Disney are known for being a perfectionist and sugarcoating the story, which doesn’t fit the story. The story here it’s about joyness and happiness, the movie is about a philosophy rather than a typical kid stories. If you watch the movie the drawings are mostly a child who draws them letting them enjoy what they love and imagination if the drawings are super-highly realistic it would be an adult who draw who are obessed with perfection and realism lacking any creativity what children usually have. Because when you grow up all you think is Important as in *Essential* stuff such as money, power(control), having a job. All they do just do the essential stuff never do stuff like singing, playing, drawing, or just doing things for fun. While we must always do the essential stuff, what it means to be a human it’s always matters.
@@michaelkwee7704 I agree :) Another important message, I find, is the rose. It's a metaphor for relationships. The rose was not unique, as she led the Prince to believe. There were millions just like her. What made her special was not that she was the only rose in existence, but the Prince's love and devotion towards her. The same can be said about partners, especially ex partners. In hindsight, they probably weren't that different from any random person you might run into. But they were special to you, and that's what made them rise above the rest.

fun fact. Disney was supposed to make a film for The Little Prince back when Walt was still around. But he was scared the story would outshine his own works and blasted out of the meeting yelling "There is not enough room in this lot for 2 geniuses" Grown ups are so weird
