Hey Buddy !!! “That little thing is impressive”.. (I know, I know, That’s what she said !!) 😂 I would have never guessed that was a twin cylinder engine. Take Care my friend. 🤙🏼
Hey I just bought a jon boat with the same engine, and I’ve been confused about where the telltale is. On my boat the water comes out the exhaust hole like yours in this video. Don’t most outboards pee out like a stream? I have a small hole right under the lower cowling on the right side but nothing ever comes out. Do our motors have the telltale in that exhaust? Mines a 1988
larger outboards with an impeller have the telltale that pees out in a stream. Mine has always looked like this - not sure where the impeller is or how it works
@@mudbrats okay, gotcha. Thanks for the reply. Great video! This has given me an idea how mine will perform when I get it on the water for the first time. Looks like a blast to zip around!
@@bacu62all water cooled our boards have a pee hole. Only air cooled models like the honda 2.3hp will not have any pee holes. I aswell own this exact model 9.9dt outboard from suzuki eith eletric start ( fancy ) The pee hole is located under the right side rear of the cowling, note you will see a tiny rubber ripple that sticks our aprox 1-2cenemeters. Get a fine pick or wire, run the engine and kinda fish is back and forth to remove debry, if that fails use an air compressor with a fine nozzle. If your motor does not pee do not run it, or you risk over heating your engine, and scoring your piston. My engine has well over 1000hours and has 125-130psi. If your lower then this your engine is scored from overheating. It will still run below 100 but the performance will not be there.
@@williamcox2996my 12ft Harbour craft with this suzuki 9.9 does Exactly 19knots on the dot( max trim setting no gear 1 person) On our 16ft blue fin with two people and gear 13knots on the dot ( max trim )

Suzuki makes a good motor. I would choose a suzuki over a mercury.
great strong runner and very dependable!!!
Easy to convert it to 15hp too.
@@AllanO808 whats involved in converting it? This is more than enough power for my tin boat but you got me thinking
I am betting 22 mph. Light load. And in low profile tuck position to avoid aerodynamic drag with your body
