  • Microbiome gut health has been a big topic of conversation in the MS community, and in the general health community as of late! Today, I'm chatting with Dr. Lindsey Elmore, a board-certified pharmacist, and we discuss the microbiome as it pertains to MS, actions you can take to improve your microbiome, and how to heal your gut BEST when you have MS.

Great interview and insight. 20 years PPMS, I have used combo of diet, intermittent fasting, fermented foods, even psychedelics in attempt to repair gut, reduce inflammation. I was EDSS 7+ in a wheelchair when I started and have been out 3 years. This interview provided valuable info to help improve and optimizize the plan, thank you!

Thank you. 👏🏽 Wonderful discussion all relevant, logical and insightful.
I have one question about balancing the microbiome though, is taking pre and probiotics an ongoing process or do we get to a point where we just continue a modified diet. ie before the gut got out of balance we had no problems so to speak; so do we need to maintain the balance after "resetting"?
I've been working on altering my diet, medications and supplements since 2019 and I haven't found the right balance as yet.

Great video!! In the pathology of MS I wonder which occurs first, brain lesions or neural inflammation? I’ve heard inflammation, and if so I wonder if the signals activating the B cells, T cells, and microglia, cytokine storm, come from the small intestine? If so, so many treatment options could be applied from personalized pre/probiotics to fecal microbial transplants (which I’ve heard are now FDA approved for candida). A specific probiotic would be easier to swallow than kimchi (for my wife at least). Is lactobacillus plantarum beneficial for nerves? Great video!
P.S. saddens me that “providers” would recommend any medication that causes people with MS to have more constipation!
