  • In this review I went really In-Depth to show you 13 Hidden Features in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro That You Never Knew Existed.
    Surprisingly the Pixel 6 & 6 Pro have Dual Ambient Light Sensors, one on the front and the other one in the Camera Visor, They help in adjusting the screen brightness even if the light is coming from the back side of the phone.
    The Pixel 6 & 6 Pro Touch Screen Has Pressure Sensitivity, That allows the phone to give quicker responses when you apply more pressure.
    These are a couple of features you will see in this Pixel 6 Pro Features Review in addition to 11 more, hope you enjoy it.

    I wanted to drop a comment about some of the features shared in this video to clarify some points:
    1. Regarding the pressure sensitivity feature this is not a Pixel 6 or 6 Pro exclusive, some older models have it, also the video is intended to share the hidden features not only the exclusive features.
    2. The camera lens wobbling is something that happens in any phone but the Pixel 6 Pro is noticeably louder than others so, I wanted to share this.
    Thanks for the comments and raising these points.

      Hi from the UK 🇬🇧
      What really annoys me is the always on display, displaying time as for example, 6:47pm as 06:47pm. Why the 0 it irritates the hell out of me, and worse still, my smart watch mirrors this on the digital clock. Is there a way of getting rid of the 0 please, the clock settings are correct? Thanks 👍🏻

    Another useful mention - the pressure sensitivity is actually not exclusive to the pixel 6. The api is called "Deep Press" and it's been in android since version 10. Pixel devices got support for it with the march 2020 feature drop so you should be able to use it with others as well. Been using it on the 5 and now the 6 and its a really neat feature indeed but it takes some getting used to.

    Most phones with OIS sensors make that wobbling sound. On my 6 without the telephoto it happens too. On my old Moto Z2 I remember hearing it and thought something had come loose in the phone. Even iPhones do this, so it's nothing to worry about. It's probably amplified by the larger lenses in the new phones as well, which makes it more noticable

    Correct me if I'm wrong but i think the 2 cutouts between the lenses are part of the laser autofocus system. If you point a camera at the backside of the 6, you can see that the left cutout is the diode.
    I covered up each indiviual sensor on my Pixel 6 and it seems like its using the spectral and flicker sensor for brightness adjustments.

    • @IDTR
      @IDTR  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The laser focus is on the other side, next to the flash, looks like a tiny circle (not the one on top of the flash but the one on the side)

    • @0815Gs

      @@IDTR You can actually see the laser by using a camera. I am quite sure that the one next to the flash is the spectral and flicker sensor; the Pixel Pixel 5 for example has this same sensor in its camera unit.

    • @IDTR

      Yes we have 4 cut outs in total, the hidden 2 I showed in video, 1 for laser beam and one for the mic

    • @0815Gs
      @0815Gs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IDTR I actually think that the 2 hidden cutouts you showed in the video are both part of the laser af. The left one is the transmitter, the right one is the receiver.
      The sensor left of the flash is the spectral/flicker sensor and it also seems to be the one responsible for measuring ambient light since the screen dims when you cover it up individually.
      Thank you for always responding to the comments so quickly btw 👌

    Of all the videos I've clicked on/watched because of promises that the viewer would come away from it having learned about as yet unknown Pixel 6/6 Pro features, this video has blown EVERY SINGLE ONE of the others out of the water in terms of delivering on that claim, and there are a several metric shit tons of content creators churning out over-hyped/over-promised and under-delivered Pixel 6 line content these days, so the competition pool is friggin HUGE. I generally don't come away from those videos having learned a single thing that I didn't already know all about, however, the exact opposite was true of this particular video. Of the ten topics (which btw, are given WITH TIMESTAMPS in the description, not treated like closely guarded secrets, the great mysteries of which may only be bestowed upon a select few chosen ones after completing a series of feats of strength challenges, er... Ummm rather, after watching a bunch of ads and sitting through so many "this video is brought to you by...." (Read: "this video is click bait and not good for much else," hence the fact that they never deliver on the claims made in their titles)), I came away from the video with approx. 7 or so facts/features that I was mostly or totally unaware of prior and of the 3ish features that I had some knowledge of, the bredth of that knowledge was cursory, at best.

    edit/PS - I stumbled upon your video as a result of searching Google for a sensor that I learned was present on my Pixel 6 Pro, but as far as I can tell seems to be locked or it's functionality otherwise hidden from the majority of users or in any case hidden from me at the very least. The sensor that I am referencing here is the double twist sensor. Upon searching Google using those terms, your video was featured high up in the results. So I came into it under the impression that it would be one of the hidden features use schooled your viewers on. Alas, it was not to be. However, I wonder if you happen to have any knowledge regarding what this sensor might be used for, if anything and/or how one might unlock it? Or, do any apps, features (either current or in development/on the roadmap), functionality, etc. make use of it (however obscure or otherwise unknown to the general public it may be)?
    I haven't had a phone that featured double twist at least in a end user facing capacity since my Motorola Droid Turbo. Or maybe it was the Droid Maxx yeah, I think it was the Droid Maxx. Anyway, it was forever ago and while I liked the feature a great deal, those were carrier exclusive devices and as such had a locked bootloader(s), which is a topic that, in the best interest of everyone, myself included, I'd better refrain from commenting on, because if there's one thing where carrier devices are concerned that makes my blood boil, it's that..

    If I understood correctly, p6pro selfie goes from 0.7x to 2.9x. If this is true, then it covers a zoom interval 2.9/0.7 = 4 as the earlier pixels.

      Good point, But why did we divide the numbers instead of adding them?

    • @ptwoods
      @ptwoods 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IDTR I suppose pixel's camera team trusts selfie zoom upto 4x of the lens focal length. Thus as for previous pixels, the selfie of p6pro has a zoom 4x of its real lens. (The fact that p6pro starts at 0.7x is artificial - in reality this is the real 1x.) Above 4x, the zoom becomes bad - honesty even at 4x the selfie zoom is not good.

    I've just read a huge Reddit thread on r/GooglePixel on how bad the adaptive auto brightness is on the Pixel 6 models.
    Letting the back-side of the phone give more control over the brightness sounds odd, as people most likely have their phone facing downwards, which is also more likely to pick up a darker light value as opposed to the front side.

    • @micahjohnson9184
      @micahjohnson9184 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that is odd, but I always have my phone facing up. Not only for the always on display, but also because I don't want the front screen of my phone to get messed up, or covered in something that's left over on the table. The only time I'd even consider having the phone face down on the screen is flip to shush which is something I've been thinking about trying to out. You also mentioned that it gets darker. Maybe that's for battery life so that it doesn't keep it super bright? But I don't know, The thing about it though I'm not sure if most people know this but Adaptive Brightness isn't just for your Environment it's also from you and your input. If you Adjust it to how you want it in certain lighting conditions it tries to learn how you like the brightness in that environment and adjust it accordingly. I do hope they address this in a software update, and that they let you choose what sensor you want to use if not it's fine but I would like to see improvement. From what I've seen, they have a lot of issues jotted down, I hope this one is added. 👍

    • @XeZrunner
      @XeZrunner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@micahjohnson9184 I was/am aware of Adaptive Brightness "adapting" to your manual changes (literally), but the subreddit was complaining about the fact that even after ~2 weeks of it learning, it still doesn't seem great and keeps changing constantly.
      There already were complaints around Pie when this was introduced, along with the logarithmic scale they use on the slider now.
      I personally had no real issues with Adaptive brightness, but I did notice that it wasn't always choosing comfortable values.

    • @micahjohnson9184
      @micahjohnson9184 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@XeZrunner Oh sorry to hear that, hope fixes come. For me it hasn't been that bad, have you turned it off because of the troubles? Or does it still help your battery life despite it?

    • @XeZrunner
      @XeZrunner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@micahjohnson9184 I'll be completely honest, I haven't even thought about auto/adaptive brightness helping battery life.
      I do leave it on and it probably helps :)

    • @micahjohnson9184
      @micahjohnson9184 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @C Richardson Yes if you go to 'settings' scroll until you see 'display' tap that. Once you tap it look for 'Adaptive brightness' and turn it off, that should work. Side note I don't think it's enabled by default unless you've had it enabled on another device before and transferred everything, or turned it on yourself.

    حبيبنا الأستاذ عماد، أحتاج رأيك في اختيار جهازي القادم:
    أنا مستخدم لسلسلة النكسوس والبكسل حتى بكسل 4 ومستمر عليه حتى الآن
    ودي أرقي جهازي ومهتم بعدة جوانب:
    1. الكاميرا
    2. 5G
    3. يكون الجهاز مستدام لفترة 4 سنوات كمتوسط استخدام (من ناحية العتاد وكذلك النظام)
    حالياً محتار مابين البكسل 6 برو والـ S22 Ultra
    عندي إحساس إن البكسل رائد من ناحية الكاميرا خاصة بالصور و التصوير الليلي، أما من ناحية الفيديو أعتقد انه ممتاز و دقته ممتازة. ممكن الجانب السلبي فيه هو عدم تفعيل الـ 5G عندنا بالخليج.
    في الوقت ذاته أشوف الـ S22 Ultra عبارة عن عتاد قوي جداً ولا يوجد له منافس ولكنه يفتقر إلى لمسة قوقل من ناحية البرمجيات وخاصة في التصوير.
    أعتقد أني أطلت الحديث ولكن بالود تطرح مقارنة مابين الإثنين وتعقّب على هالنقاط من واقع تجربة.
    مع الشكر والتقدير لجهدك الرائع 🙏
