I had the privilege of working with Australian personnel at TK in 2012. From the diggers to the SASR troops the ADF is professional force.

I know the Aussie Solider doesn't like to blow their own trumpet but there should be more of these vids put out there. We have one of the best Defence Forces in the world, and a lot of it has to do with our attitude, a sense of a fair go and always willing to punch well above our weight! This does not come for ignorance or arrogance, but a well tempered and tested value of belief and capability.

The Politicians want them in the back ground, They don't want any Soldiers stealing there thunder for the 24hr news cycle. Would rather talk about how they can increase the pension so that dole bludgers can get on the pokies then the story of the gallantry and Professionalism of these Soldiers.
I understand why some Units in the A.D.F have to be protected publicly from the public but to not share there Heroism and Bravery story's more often is criminal.

Australian special forces are the best at going behind enemy lines and coordinating airstrikes utilizing GPS munitions from bomber aircraft.
How do you have 169 subs
thats a big part of the SASR but remember the commandos regiment is more focussed on direct action, larger assaults on compounds etc

Not all footage is of our SOF/SF lads. Some are the contingent forces along side them, such at 1:18 the guys reading the maps are 2RAR.

Yeah I did the the gear and noticed it wasn't issued to 2RAR after I made that comment. Wish we had more coverage for our boys. We had a little more than last year with Talisman Saber

are they the guys that are but arent sf and have m4's but are not commando or SASR level

Your either SF or you ain't! There's no in between. 3RAR is a fulltime Infantry batallion they are not SF.

What type of insertion is that? Its like free fall but they pull their chutes very soon after exiting. Doesnt look like a HAHO because it doesnt seem that high up and I didnt see any oxygen tanks.

It's a exercise, the ones showing their faces are regular infantry, the special forces have their faces concealed.

And they have those of a kind, at least one, by the name Cantwell, who claims to have extreme PTSD and nightmares from memories of his time on the battlefield.
Ironically, he was able to compile a novel articulating his war experience.
Novel writing is a special kind of intellectual labour.
PTSD together with Novel writing is questionable!
Writing about such experiences is often undertaken as part of or complement to therapy. Sometimes it gets published.
