I've always been in love with Rado Original Diastar! To the extreme that I will decline a Rolex for a Diastar not even hesitate! Since I was a kid I saw the first tv commercials featuring those people in black full body suits and that marvelous watch, all looking so futuristic and astronomical! It was an impressive image of a real Beautiful and Marvelous piece of jewelry that I thought at that moment impossible to reach! Now I've had a few, right now I have a Rado New Original Diastar silver with the red Dial and crown protection XL just like this one but with the red dial really nice! Love them.

HI Greg, nice first attempt. Love that watch. The revolving anchor is cool, it's also used to determine when a service is due, it stiffens a bit. It's raining here so a good time to check out some watches. Regards.

Well, I didn't know there was a watch with a tungsten carbide case - it doesn't get much more working class than that! Not my cup of tea design-wise, unfortunately: it would make a great pair with my tungsten carbide wedding ring.

    Hello :)
Can I send you a PM or email? I've got a question related to my own Rado. Thx!!

Absolutely. Shoot me an email. Don't know if I'll be able to answer your question but I'll take a stab at it.

      I can't find the option to send a PM/email so I'll ask here :)
I got mine from Jomashop (so, a similar online retailer as Ashford). While the watch is 100% genuine, it didn't come with a Certificate of authenticity as my other jewels do. It came with a warrantly card (Jomashop's, not Rado's), a certificate for the diamonds, and a card showing how to use the crown. Did you yourself get a Certificate of authenticity? What's your thoughts about not having one? You can PM me if you find the option to do so. Thanks a lot :)

      Hi again,
My email should be listed somewhere as I provided one for people to contact me but, unfortunately, I've no idea how you find it. Sorry about that.
To answer your question; No, I did not receive a certificate of authenticity from Ashford. In the past, I have purchased from Jomashop as well and I don't recall receiving a certificate of authenticity from them either. I have have received such certificates from other gray market dealers, mostly located in Brooklyn. While a certificate of authenticity is a nice touch, I'm not sure how much value it adds in the real world. I guess it could give you some legal standing if you were to later discover that the watch is, in fact, not authentic but I think when you stick to larger and more reputable gray market dealers like Jomashop or Ashford you run a very low chance of having that happen to you.
I don't know if a certificate of authenticity contributes much to the resale value either. I've never checked for one before purchasing a used watch anyway. I kind of feel like anyone who is capable of counterfeiting a luxury watch would be capable of forging an authenticity certificate as well.
I know that Rado watches have been counterfeited or at least cloned in the past but I don't think there is as much of a risk in buying one as when you are purchasing something like a Rolex or Panerai. I think for me to put much stock in certificates of authenticity, there would have to be some sort of government oversight of the process.
I would just enjoy my watch and not bother myself too much. I would maintain my Jomashop receipt to show where the watch came from. They seem to be a well-respected company and their receipt should carry as much weight as any certificate.
      Thanks for your interest!
